Forgive me if I am wrong, but I'm quite certain there are a few animals that would eat penguins. Polar bears are right at the top, but I think that some of these others have a part in this: seals/sealions, whales and arctic foxes or wolves. i am sorry but wolves, as well as ar would not be eatingthe adelie penguins due to the fact that the penguins spend sic foxescto much time in the frigid waters, however there are sea lions and leopardseals that feed on the adelie penguins.

Hawks are very important to us for several reasons. Hawks are carnivorous birds, so they're strong enough to catch their preys. Firstly, this is a long explanation about the pest control. Snakes and rodents are nasty pests because snakes can bite people, which some species can be venomous enough for some people to die. Rodents are also very bad because they can gnaw at people, invade our house and wreck stuffs, destroy farm crops which triggers some famine to people, and some rodents can carry some nasty diseases, which can trigger a plague like the European Black Death in the mid-13th century. However, the hawk these nasty animals, including the snakes and rodents, so that it can save people to reduce the risk of snakebites and rodent plagues. Hawks are part of the snakebite and rodent control because they usually prey on these small nasty animals. Secondly, this partially connects to the first reason point. Hawks are part of the food chain, just like other animals, and hawk is typically an apex predator. If the hawks went extinct, there would be a chaos to the food chain. The hawk usually eat snakes, rodents, small mammals, etc. for their food diet. The hawk eat these things everyday in order to control their prey population. If the hawks went extinct, their prey would overpopulate because there'll be nothing to hunt them down. The snake and rodent overpopulation is especially more terrible because it'll increase the vulnerable frequency of more snakebites and rodent plagues, in which people would be in a huge danger.

That's why we shouldn't hunt hawks into extinction, otherwise we'll all terribly affect ourselves at the end.
