How much does a good used four wheeler cost?

It depends on what a person is looking for as to the price of a four-wheeler. If looking for a new quad, a person can plan on spending a minimum of around $6,000 and upwards of $10,000.

However, and this is my opinion, deals can be found on used quads because of the fact that many facets of the economy are still struggling. In the last couple of years, my wife and I have purchased two used four-wheelers. The first was two years ago we bought a 2000 Kawasaki Prairie for $2500. The Kawasaki is a little rough around the edges and certainly won't win any beauty contests but it runs great and has not given us any problems. Recently, we purchased a 2005 Polaris Sportsman for $3500; it is in much better shape and should give us a good ride for many years to come.

So to answer your question, a person can probably find a quad to fit most any budget with quads costing from $2500 to $10,000.

In the rear end of machine there is an eccentric that adjust the chain . There are 2 bolts that loosen the eccentric .Loosen the two bolts , loosen the brake collar, a large pair of channel lock pliers works well . Be carful with the greese zert in the middle , use the channel lock pliers and rotate the eccentric to tighten chain . With the weight of the normal rider sitting on the machine you want an inch to an inch and a half play up and down in the middle after you adjust it . Tighten the bolts down and tighten the brake collar .
