LAst but not Least, the worst enemy of any Engine is HEAT!!
What happens if you over rev your engine?
The inertial forces on the engine internals cause the engine to tear itself apart. The piston has to reverse itself twice every revolution, which puts immense strain on the rod and its attachments. The valves are also returned into place with springs, and at a certain point the springs can't close the valves fast enough, and they "float" and may contact the piston
basically, your engine tears itself apart from the inside....

What size motor you got motor number c302-10114182?
The first part of the number you have there is the date code. C 30 2 translates to March 30, 1992. This is a 454 Generation V Big Block Chevrolet. You should find a VIN number on the pad by the head on the passenger side on the front of the motor. You can use that to help decode where the engine came from. Hope this helps. Tony Shields

Litre is a metric unit of measurement.
One Litre = 1000 CC (cubic centremetres)
When used in engine sizes of cars, it is the cubic capicity of the engine.
It is the total volume of a bore and combustion chamber of one cylinder
If a total capacity of one cylinder was 400 cubic centremetres
And the engine has 4 cylinders the engine would be 1.6Ltrs.
Liters is the metric measurement. 1 liter equals 61.037441 cubic inches. So a 3 liter engine is a 183 cubic inch engine as you always round off cubic inches.
When does an engine need to be rebuilt?
The easiest answer is when it fails a compression test. Buy a compression tester (farily cheap), and test each cylinder. If one single cylinder is below 120 psi, or if one cylinder reads 15% less pressure than the cylinder with the highest pressure, your engine should be torn down and checked. The problem might only be in the heads, but it's still time for some serious work.

How do you convert cc in to horse power?
The formula that works best only applies to the small newer normally aspirated (carbureted) 4 cycle engines. The ratios change slightly worse with altitude and slightly better with fuel injection and tuning. Most American mowers and the newer 4 cycle outboard motors fit into one of these two formulas: Typical new carbureted engine well tuned: 1 x HP per each 25 cc Fuel injected: 1 x HP per each 22 cc Notes:-Most engines are tuned down to a lower HP for better engine life. -It is common for the same cc engine to be built in 3 different HP versions with the highest rated being the maximized HP per cc version. That is how you see price and HP changes on the same cc engine made by the same company. -Some of the newest (2008 and newer) engines from Japan perform slightly better. A typical 150cc motor should equate to between 3.5 - 6 HP+ depending on tuning with 5 HP being the adv.
The actual formula plots as a curve and is not linear and also does not apply to Max/High Performance engines like in motorcycles.
Back firing problems on 351 windsor?
There can be a number of reasons for the backfire. If you changed plugs you could of crossed 2 wires. Same if you have just changed the dist cap. there can be a crossed wire or you didn't put them back in the same place. Bring the #1 plug up to top dead center on the compression stroke then remove the dist cap & see if the pointer is pointing at the # 1 plug. Check to make sure the wires are in the correct firing order at the cap & trace each wire to the plug that it is suppose to go to. Another reason if you removed the dist from the engine it may not of been put back in in the same place. Worse one is you may have a bent or burnt intake valve. Also look for carbon tracks on inside of cap or a small crack on cap. replace it you see any. You can check the condition of wires/cap at night. Must be dark-start engine & look close at wires & cap. Any sparks will tell you that can be one of you problems WAtCH OUT FOR THE FAN & ANY MOVING PARTS I talked to my son on this problem & he told me that the rotation goes in the opp direction then a 351 cleveland. Check the rotation of dist & wire your cap that way
