Perhaps it is because of your large behind IN a Geo Metro?----
Your catalytic converter may be getting stopped up too.
Try changing the fuel & oil filters.
Mine was doing the same thing last summer, the fuel & oil filters were both plugged.

Stop trying to drive up walls.

It could be a lot of things. It may be running too rich and bogging down(replace oxygen sensor). The camshaft lobes may be worn down and the valves aren't opening all the way(replace or regrind the cam). The catalytic converter or exhaust pipe could be clogged up with carbon. But keep in mind it is a Geo Metro, economy is the goal here, not performance...
I am having the same problem. Oil and fuel filters have been replaced and now will not accelerate at all. my mechanic says it is acting like an issue with the timing belt but the belt is fine and working properly. The computer diagnostics are fine as well. any ideas
The '97 Geo Metro (Base, LSi or XFi) does not have a fuel light.
You find the low side access of the AC charging system for a 1995 Geo Metro in the engine compartment. It is located on the back side of compartment, next to the windshield.
With a welder, fabrication and some Patience.
A 1993 Geo Metro has two fuse boxes. One fuse box, that has the relays in it, is under the hood and the other fuse box is under the dash next to the driver side door.
It's either in the intake or in a hose between the intake and valve cover.
The crankshaft a top center and the tie nuber one cylinder (on the passenger side)all the way up and the small dot on the cam shaft sprocket aligned with the mark on the valve cover ie at the 12:00 position.
On my 1992 Geo Metro hatchback, the windshield wiper switch is on the right hand side of the steering column, opposite the turn signal switch. Please be advised that this switch handle breaks off very easily and you have to buy the whole combo switch (turn signal, flasher switch and wiper switch).
Do you mean interference type or non-interference type?
If this is what your asking, it is a non-interference type. this means that the timing belt can brake and no damage to the engine will accur. interference type means that if the belt brakes the pistons can hit the valves and bend and or brake stuff. don't worry about it on a geo metro I had two brake and it just stops running and replacing the timing belt takes 45 min to replace, it's easy. "BUGS"
Geo Metro and Suzuki swift windows are interchangeable
You cannot turn it by hand, except 5-10 degrees during some parts of its revolution. You can turn it with the 17mm bolt on the end. The specs on the bearing cap bolts are hard to come by, but I think they are about 17 foot pounds, and people generally tend to overtighten them, which will cause the camshaft to turn harder.
Since the cam is operating valves, it will depend on where in the revolution you are as to whether it will be harder or easier to turn the shaft. The cam can be removed by taking only the left and center bearing caps off, and loosening the right cap.

If its from 85 then its NOT a geo metro engine. It is probably a Chevrolet Sprint engine because they only started making Geos in 88. If you need an engine for your 95 Geo then you could use one of the following: 1991 - 1995 Geo Metro engine. 1991 - 1995 Suzuki Swift Engine, and 1991 - 1995 Pontiac FireFly engine. Hope this helps :)
You might have a catalytic converter that is clogged. Could be the fuel pump. It may be providing enough fuel to start and operate the vehicle, but shuts down immediately so your engine starves. Could be out of time! MAy have jumped! I have a 93 doing the same thing and it jumped time on me!
