If the "grinding noise" is present while cornering left and all but disappears when cornering right, my experience* says it's your right rear wheel bearings needing replaced.
* My '96 did the exact same thing
another thing to check is my exhaust pipe would rub the rear suspension on the passengers side and make an awful noise only when turning left and it would be worse with more weight in the car
Metro's range from acceptable to non existant. Is radiator full? feel both heater hoses and see if it circulating. Hotter therostat. Outside air door not closed or not sealed. Simple fix may be to just put a piece of cardboard over the bottom half to two thirds of the radiator.
Take the terminals off the battery and leave them off for 30 minutes, then put them back on.

Are you talking about two separate switches?
The rear defrost switch might have corroded contacts or a bad spring mechanism. The factory manual recommends you pull off a few covers and drop the steering column to get to the defrost switch, but I found that some careful prying at the top and bottom of the defrost switch where it meets the dash with a knife point or thin flat screwdriver will get it to pop out. If you are adventuresome, pop the switch open and clean the contacts (look out for a flying spring!) , otherwise get one from the dealership or friendly local junk yard.
I fixed the problem it was the air gap.
Yes, it is.
NO! Geo Storms have a 4X100mm bolt pattern, a Geo Metro has 4X114.3mm bolt pattern.
Generally the car has overheated. If your trying to figure what caused it to overheat, first check the radiator fluid, if full, it could be your thermostat has gone bad.
If it has a manual transmission then you put it in neutral and release the parking brake. Always be in the drivers seat and have someone else push you. Put the key to start and pop start the clutch (which means pushing your foot all the way on the clutch, putting it into first and quickly releasing the clutch in 1 swift motion) this shouls start it up. Hope this helps.

Metro = Metropolitan For example: Metropolitan Phoenix, AZ would include all the suburbs around the city as well as the unincorporated county areas.
You can find the diagram for the fuse box on a 1990 Geo Metro in the car's owner's manual. You can also check local auto part retail stores.
