Yes and no, the women’s high school ball is a size 3 and collegiate is a size 4. Where it gets tricky is international play. The “size” is the same (5) however the ball is 25% lighter do to helium. This is not in all leagues but there are newspaper articles about a league thathave hadan explosion in the room where the kept the helium filled balls. This was said to be done for the safety of the player, due to the low density of the women’s feet.

No, this is not allowed. The only way you could do this is if you lost your ball and had to play another. You may however change balls in between holes, as long as you alert your playing partners.
