What products does NVIDIA manufacture?

NVIDIA are best known for manufacturing graphics cards. They are one of the leading manufacturers alongside AMD and sell a lot of products to the public. They have also recently developed a controller for gaming on the PC.

Can you use a Radeon graphics card with a Intel CPU?

Yes, the make of the CPU has no bearing on the make of graphics adapter you can use. The only thing you have to worry about is making sure the interface matches. Right now, PCI-e is the main interface for this, so if both the card and the socket use PCI Express, you will be fine.

Which ps2 emulator does not require a good graphic card?

pscx 2 is still the best ps2 emulator out there,

and it requires a very strong system cpu/ram/gpu.

Emulating a ps2 is a heavy task, so any ps2 emulator will need a high end system.

My suggestion is try and find the best GPU pluging.

Does a computers graphics card controls the signals the computer sends to the monitor?

All the computers pass signals to the monitors through a graphics card. And its your graphics card that controls the signals to the monitor. A graphics card may be integrated or installed in a VGA, PCI or ISA slot of the main board of your computer.

What is 256MB NVIDIA graphics card?

Nvidia is a manufacturer of graphics cards. They are one of only 2 main manufacturers, the other being ATI (a division of AMD). Nvidia and ATI design the processors that will run the cards and design how the card will work. There are then numerous other manufactures (XFX, BFG, EVGA, Palit, Sapphire, and the list goes on) that take that design and actually produce the card or make some slight changes then sell the card to the comsumer.

the 256mb part refers to the amount of onboard memory (RAM) the card has to store graphical information on. The most popular amount right now is 512mb which is found on most higher end graphica cards. However, cards are available right now with up to 1.5 gb or memory or even possibly 2gb (2048mb). More RAM on the card, the faster it can work without having to user the slower RAM on the motherboard. However, for most users, more than 512mb is unnecessary as it will never be fully used up. Only those with larger screens (26in and up) will use more memory

What happens if my processor doesn't have enough power to run a graphics card?

I'll try to answer this as best as I can.

A processor doesn't supply power. Power-based, you'd be looking at the actual power supply. If a PC doesn't have enough power, the system can either stall when trying to access unavailable power, or simply shut down.

However, if you mean something else, the processor can bottleneck you. I put in a $120 Graphic card into my system and saw no change in my computer. When I got a new motherboard and processor, my performance skyrocketed.

Your acer aspire has a nvidia 8400M GS card can you replace this with a nvidia 8600M GT?

Simple answer, No.

Laptops in general are made to hold a specific video card model (unlike desktops). There are, however, higher-end gaming laptops that do provide a facility to change and upgrade the video card. But judging by the fact that your laptop came with an 8400M GS, It's highly unlikely that you can change it.

Still, ask your manufacturer (Acer) and they'll give you the most definitive answer.

Can you put a graphics card to the PS3?

No you cannot :(.

The PlayStation 3 has a intergrated GPU(graphics card) which is solderd onto the motherboard, and there are no slots for a graphics upgrade unlike a computer which can be upgraded.

Where can you buy a video card that has a video output jack?

Mostly all video cards have output jacks. It depends on what kind of output jack you're looking for. monitor outputs are found generally on all video cards, standard yellow video jacks are on most video cards (easily found at places like Best Buy or Circuit City).

Anything more advanced than that you may need to look up video cards on the internet. Video cards on retailer shelves are usually pretty limited.

How many bits is 1k byte?

One BYTE is currently defined as 8 BITs. (Binary digITs)

1 B = 8 b

(Big "B" is for Bytes and little "b" is for bits.)

Some data protocols use a different number of bits to define a character (like the letter "A"), most systems today use 8 bits, some older systems used 5 bits or 7 bits. But a BYTE is currently defined as 8 bits, since historically the definition of a byte has changed throughout time. Also, one NIBBLE is half a byte, which is 4 bits.

KB -- Kilobyte (official definition now means 1,000 bits per NIST and IEC):

K = Kilo = 1,000

1 KB = 1,000 bytes

1,000 bytes = 1,000(8 bits per byte) = 8,000 bits

KiB -- Kibibyte (new term to avoid confusion with a Kilobyte):

2^10 = 1,024

1 KiB = 1,024 bytes

1,024 bytes = 1,024(8 bits per byte) = 8,192 bits

So, basically, there's still a lot of confusion between IT professionals and manufacturers of data storage devices as not many have adopted the newer Kibibyte definitions. Therefore, you must determine the context and/or do your own math to validate which meaning is being used.

Is there any way to get a functional driver for an Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 for PowerPC on Debian?

The only 3D accelerated (what I assume you mean by "functional") drivers for NVIDIA cards for Linux are for x86 and x86-64 computers. The only support for Nvidia cards elsewhere would be the nv driver (which is already included), and only supports 2D acceleration.

How do you update video card files?

Are 10 million pixels good?

Depending on what you use it for is one matter. A 10 million pixel (10 megapixiel)camera takes great quality photos. My 3.2 mega-pixel phone camera is great for taking photos with and viewing on the phone and sometimes even on a computer screen, but it is just not good enough for expanding the photo and printing, but on the other hand a 10 mega-pixel camera is great for taking picture's, expanding them and printing them. So yes, 10 million pixels are good.

Processor or graphics card?

For upgrading your PC, as an instance on playing games (because both are needed on games),

-Processor determine how long your game loading does, AI, and everything about process and thinking.
-Graphic Card determine graphic rendering performance of your game, how smooth it does, and how nice it would looked like.

So choose wisely, because both are a crucial for gaming PC

Can you buy a crap laptop but install a graphic card to make it good?

Yes and I'll tell you exactly how to do it.

Acer is the best brand to do it cheaply.

You need to find a broken, budget machine. You can get one around 50$. If you do research by looking at pictures of motherboards, you can tell which are based on the same case and can use much better motherboards with standard MXM 2.1 type II graphics. The ODM model is useful to know, because it applies to the entire case and every model it is based off of, but on Ebay they aren't often listed like this.

I did it with an Acer 5315. I bought a 5720g motherboard and it can run a 9600m GT ddr3. I had to cut holes in the case for some ports and buy the graphics heatsink. The ODM model here is ICL50, and there are in fact more which use the same case such as ICW50, the AMD version, ICL70 is the 17" case for the same motherboard layout.

You really have to know what you're doing needless to say.

Its in fact easier for high end models, and you have more options for cards and less work to do, but then you are investing a lot more money. the Alienware m15x can be found with i3 CPU, Nvidia gt 240m and upgraded to AMD 6990m. The first step however after being a very good technician is really knowing the market and what is worth it.

Its certainly more interesting but much more difficult to mess with other rare brands and models like Acers. There are a few out there like the 8735g which use the same interface as the AMD 6970m etc and could potentially be upgraded a lot. Theres also a few gateways, like the nv73, nv74, nv78 series, but these are not necessarily upgradeable unless you know that they have a dedicated card already.

Clevo/ Sager laptops are meant to be upgraded, but you'll still have to pay a lot for one. Do research on anything before buying.

The best laptops around to upgrade are the MSI gx640, gt640 etc if you can find one for cheap.

But you said crap laptop. Yes the only way is to find broken Acer machines, cheap motherboards etc. At this point you are basically going into the repairing trade and might as well learn board level repair.

Can someone suggest a good graphics card for Intel D915GAV motherboard is it ddr typre or ddr2 type i am confused. or can i use any pci express x16 video card?

Yes you can use x16 PCI Express video cards on your D915GAV motherboard. I've the same motherboard & I'm using Nvidia GeForce 7300GT PCI Express. You can install all types of latest PCI Expresses on it. Here are the names of some great PCI Express graphics cards of Nvidia: Nvidia Geforce 9800GTX Nvidia Geforce 8800GTX Nvidia Geforce 7800GTX These PCI Express graphics Cards are great for playing games! I suggest you to buy Nvidia Geforce 8800GTX Nvidia Geforce 9800GTX is the greatest PCI Express but it is very costly. If your budget is limited then you can buy Nvidia Geforce 7800GTX Please dont try Nvidia Geforce 6 series PCI Express: it is very old. It supports DDR1 type RAM not DDR2 type RAM. Best of luck.
