Do mother's leave there babies?
Mother rabbits often act as if they don't have babies they tend to ignore them A LOT even when the babies can climb out of the nesting box the mother will hop away from them. This is normal. Because baby bunnies don't have that high of a scent and the adult mother does she will keep away from them often so she doesn't attract any predators to her nest
But if you know for a fact that the mother has abandoned them there are a few reasons why she may have left them. She may have believed them to be weak, she may have been too young, she may have just not wanted them, an unwanted scent may have gotten on them (like another female rabbit), or in some cases they may abandon them if they have gotten pregnant again too soon after birth (rabbits can get pregnant within an hr after having a litter)
Is it safe to put sandpaper in a hamster cage to get their claws down?
I have not had a problem with this. But make sure it is fine sandpaper, the coarser stuff may hurt it's paws. And don't leave it in too long. Maybe a few hours a night while you supervise...just in case.
Yes, because that is the pertection incase they sneak up beside them and also you can see there eyes hat are sideways.

What lives longer a guinea pig or a hamster?
That's hard to say. I've had many hamsters, and currently have 3 pet guinea pigs. So here are the Pros and Cons of each: Pros of guinea pigs include: Larger animals, so you can hold them easier and interact a little better; they communicate much more than most hamsters; they have more distinct personalities; guinea pigs can't climb, so while you still need a top for the cage, you don't have to worry about them climbing out as much; a lot of guinea pigs just 'sleep' at different times of the day- they are not nocturnal; SOME guinea pigs can go longer when being held and not go to the bathroom on you; when guinea pigs trust you enough to lick you, you feel really happy and content; guinea pigs will lie down on you and stretch out if they feel comfortable enough. Pros of hamsters include: They do not poop as much, or have as big poops as guinea pigs; they pee less when they do pee; they don't make such a big mess in their cage; you don't have to have as big a cage as guinea pigs and you don't need to clean it as often; you don't have to feed them as much; some say hamsters may be cuter; hamsters might look cuter while they are sleeping because they can achieve different positions, making it cuter to watch them sleep. Cons of guinea pigs include: Harder to clean the cages; you have to clean the cages more often; you have to feed them more; if you hold them for too long they WILL poop on you; some may pee on you when held for too long; they REQUIRE vitamin C supplements EVERY day; they MUST have their fingernails clipped every so often; they might need to have their teeth trimmed- which would be best to take the pig to the vet; it would be best to wash the guinea pig every month or every other month; they smell more than hamsters. Cons of hamsters include: Not as easy to hold them as guinea pigs; they are very active and run around a lot, making them hard for small children to hold; hamsters may bite people (guinea pigs will too- but not very often, if you treat them right); hamsters are known to try to climb to the top of the cage, push the top off and escape (mine have- almost all 8 of them); if the hamsters do escape, and run under say the refrigerator, it would be extremely difficult to retrieve them; hamsters are prone to tumors from running against the sides of their treadmill (guinea pigs are not - it would be AWFUL to give them exercise wheels and balls- they can severely hurt their backs and feet). Hope this helps.

How much space do hamsters need?
That will of course all depend on the size and breed of your beloved furry animal. Some, such as giant breeds will need plenty of space to hop around, because they are quite obese, unless of course you don't feed them, in which case they die, so not much room at all.
Hope this helps.

Well, after your hamster gives birth you can clean the cage after about two days or a day after birth but when you do clean a round the nest. And I know this because my hamster has given birth three times.

When they shake uncontrollably, when they feel very cold, and when they don't move very much.
Fruits contain way too much sugar for a healthy hamster! You should not feed a hamster, this small especially, fruit! Any fruit that's on here completely ignore! I'm not even sure about some of this other stuff either, like Sweet potatoes. Not too sure about that. Another thing that was on here was Almonds! Never ever feed your hamster almonds. On one it saysnuts(no almonds What's really good for your hamster are pellet diets and leafy green vegetables! These hamsters have a keen sense of smell so they will pick through commercial food to find the good tasting but unhealthy pieces. This is why pellet diets are extremely good for making sure that your hamster gets the right amount of nutrients.

Syrian hamsters or dwarf hamsters?
I recommend getting a dwarf hamster because dwarf hamsters are less territorial and most of the time can be kept together in the same cage. If you put two Syrian hamsters together they will fight to the death.
