A flat or "straight" head screw driver is designed to fit screws a compatible indentation on the head of said screw.

note: an advantage of a flat head is that it allows for more torque to be applied, as there is less room for it to move, and has to scalable edges like a Philips head.

Assuming the heat sink is on tight enough that you would even consider prying it off with a screwdriver, prying would exert excess stress on the CPU die, and cause it to crack.
Typically, a flat-head screwdriver is too wide to safely remove a heatsink from the CPU and therefore the CPU could become scratched or damaged.

The function of a wrench depends on what type of wrench it is. In general, small flat wrenches have two 'flats' that are sized to particular bolt or nut sizes.These wrenches are used to loosen or tighten nuts onto bolts. The crescent wrench is able to be adjusted to many sizes of nuts and are handy to have in a tight corner when you don't know the size. Ratchet wrenches are used to do up or loosen nuts quickly where movement may be restricted and you have to re-seat an ordinary wrench after each partial turn. Box wrenches have round heads, able to completely encompass the nut and are very useful where nuts are rusted or otherwise extremely tight. Pipe wrenches are usually larger jawed wrenches used to grip large pipe nuts and pipes themselves in plumbing work.

The longest lasting power tools are the Milwaukee brand. They invented the Sawzall and other tools for tradespeople.

All depends on the job and the user, professional tools last the longest under tough use, but are overkill for home users. Rigid (home depot) have lifetime warrenty if you mail in your slip with in 30 days, hitachi has 7 years, and most others have 3 year. Hitachi is the cheapest professional tool, but has less torque (umph!) than the dewalt, bosch, and Milwaukee. Dewalt offers the highest voltage drill 36volt, and Milwaukee makes a 28 volt. Bosch has a quicker charge (15 minutes,) and makita has a ton of fans from older tools that lasted. For the most part if you see the brand in every store, there's a good reason for it, and you really do get what you pay for! I have used dewalt for years, and haven't had a bad tool yet, but its all about getting the right tool for the job.

Needle-nosed pliers in two sizes, large and small, wire strippers and side-cutting pliers are absolute necessities. Fish tapes and poles are very important for guiding wires around and through tight spaces. Screwdrivers and nut drivers in all of the smaller sizes, electrical tape, hand saws and measuring tools are essential tools.

One thing that tradesmen are taught is that you do not depend on the insulation factor of your tool handles to save you from an electrical shock. The fact that tool handles are made of insulating materials is coincidental. The handle material has to be comfortable in the hand, has to be cheap to produce and that it is an insulating material is secondary.All electrical work should be done in the off condition for safety purposes and it does not matter if the handle is an insulating material or not.

Water pump pliers are basically channel lock pliers with large rounded jaws instead of the straight ones. My pair can easily encompass a 4" circle or go down a notch to cover a 3" circle. They are very handy for undoing oil filters in autos and pipe joints on ABS pipe.

An electrician would be one person that would use them.

Calipers are used for measuring small thicknesses and widths, not making holes.

"Outside calipers" look like tongs and could stab through lightweight material, but that is not the primary function.

Drill bits are not universal. You choose the size of the drill bit according to the size of hole you like to make.

Safety is important when handling any tool.
First thing that should be done is to read the manual that comes with the tool kit.
If possible wearing heavy duty gloves and goggles will add to the persons safety.

Each tool has its own cleaning procedures.

1. Using a wire brush/paint brush/cotton waste thoroughly brush/wipe hand tools.

2. If found rusted/corroded use proper abrasive to rub and remove rust/corrosion.

3. Apply anti-rust/corrosion agents.

4. Insert in proper casings.

5. Input anti moisture substances inside casing to absorb if humidity trapped inside.

6. Keep tool and casing in a dry place.

7. While taking for use brush/wipe out anti-rust/corrosion agents applied earlier to avoid slippage on use hence damage.

8. Try do not touch metal parts with hand to avoid sweat on parts which may cause rusting/corrosion.

9. Use gloves while cleaning hand tools.

10. Ensure cleaning is done every day before keeping it aside.

To eliminate short circuiting, to enable and supply reliable and correctly rated power supply, fool proof handling of connection points and equipments during the time of servicing and maintenance.

A wrench is used to tighten nuts. Socket wrenches are a type of nut driver.

If you don't maintain them , they'll wear and break faster.

If you don't maintain them, they produce poorer results.

Dull cutting tools leaves a chewed-up cut instead of a nice, smooth one as an example.

When you can't use that tool any more, you'll either have to stop working while you go and buy a new tool - which will cost you both time and money.

Or pick a poorer tool and work slower, also costing you time.

Tools that get worn can also be dangerous, both to the user, to the surroundings and to other people around you. A tool that get you damaged will make you miss work, costing you time. A tool that destroys the piece you're working on, or something right nearby will force you to do repairs. That means added work and cost, and again lost time.

A tool that damages someone else can get you sued, or even jailed.

All good reasons to maintain your tools.

A small, sharp knife such as a paring knife or a steak knife will often reach deeply enough into the crosshair pattern of the screw's head. However, if the screw is in too tight, you might permanently twist the blade without loosening the screw. So, a pair of vise grips can be used to slightly crush the head of the screw in order to gain a grip. Pliers often just do not give enough grip, and channel locks are often too large and unwieldy for the circumstance.

Cannot be treated as a machine but a lever mechanism.

An Allen wrench, or "hex key" is tool used to turn Allen screws or bolts. They come in various sizes, both SAE and metric, and may be single, or foldable into little sets that look like Swiss Army Knives. The heads are far more unlikely to strip out than Phillips or slotted screws, and are often used in, and included with "assemble it yourself" furniture like Ikea stuff. You just insert the end in the screw and turn. Lefty-loosey-Righty-tighty.

Unfortunately nowadays not many hand or electric tools are made in US. Some companies make their best tools in America, Germany, Mexico or Japan. Of the popular makes almost all Ridgid, Stanley, Crescent, Porter Cable, Black and Decker, and Milwaukee have their cheaper tools made in China. . Tools are made everywhere but in my opinion the best are made in Germany, UK, Switzerland, Sweden, USA, Japan and Mexico I still use a 1985 DeWalt 384 rotary saw made in Mexico, almost every day.

a feeler guage cannot be calibrated, it is made at precise measurements that cannot be changed.

When a feeler guage is out of spec, it is replaced.
