Lenses for video projectors are normally designed and manufactured for each projector. Although some manuafacturers such as Sanyo, Barco and NEC make large projectors with interchangeable lenses, the lenses are still made for specific models. There is no standard for lens mounts as yet and it is unlikely that there will be a standard in the near future.

I'm not sure what you mean by io box, but generally 10/100 means the network devices can communicate with other network devices at either 10mbps or 100mbps. If both are capable of 100, then 100 is used. If one is only capable of 10mbps then 10 is used.

1000mbps or Gigabit Ethernet is 10x faster than 100mbps. If is also backward compatible like 100mbps devices, but will only run at full speed is you connect it to other Gigabit devices and use the correct wiring.

I inquired about replacing my screen due to scratches from my children. Sanyo has replacements, but they cost about $900 and $150 shipping coming out to more than the original price of the television.

If you already have the service of satellite or cable, your fine. All that the Feb. 2009 Transition means is that A "bunny ear" style antenna ill no longer work. Hope this helps!

An LCD screen is composed of diodes that are individually controlled and, typically, the pixel response time is the time it takes for a pixel to go from black to white to black again. Sadly the lack of an industry standard means some manufacturers list the speed for a screen to perform half a cycle, black-to-white or white-to-black only, or even list the pixel time from one shade of grey to another (known as grey-to-grey). A TV with a 9ms full-cycle pixel response would be fast and provide good quality viewing. If the 9ms is half-cycle then the quality would still be good for TV / DVD viewing but approaching the acceptable limit for Gaming. A 9ms pixel response time for grey-to-grey would be considered poor by today's standards and may give ghosting or bleeding.

If both are hi def, they should have HDMI inputs and outputs, so use an hdmi cable and then just set both devices to their top resolution.

They're all expensive to operate. Today's LCD and DLP sets use a projection lamp that draws on the average of 120 watts to light, plus there are several fans that operate in all three types, not to mention all the support electronics. In general, you can expect them to use more energy than a CRT model. It also depends on how much TV you watch.

Another expense to consider is the additional air conditioner usage to compensate for the heat coming off the projection lamp type sets, unless

you drop the money for a LCD set that uses backlighting by flourescent tubes.

As you can gather, I'm not a big fan of today's TV models for more reasons that I can discuss here. Personally, I'm waiting for the next generation or two before making a commitment to buy a new TV. In the meanwhile, I'm sticking with my CRT TV until I absolutely have to replace it.

On February 17, 2009, all off air signals are supposed to be digital. What that means is that you'll have to have a set top box to convert the TV signals back to the analog type unless you already have a cable box or satellite system to do the conversion for you.

TV manufacturers are working to replace the projection lamp systems, but I personally want to wait to see if they're going to be more dependable than what's on the market today.
