Why would you wake up every morning with a headache?
There are many possibilities, but one common reason for headaches is dehydration, which can happen while you are asleep. When you wake up, drink a couple of glasses of water, and see if that helps. If so, you will know that is the reason.
That is exactly what happened to me and i happen to be quite experienced with lung problems. I have just gotten it again. do you have any wheezing or chest dicomfort? If you do, i would think yoiu have bronchitis
To answer this I will first explain the different types of headaches and preventative treatments for each, I will then describe my own experience with headaches.
Tension-Type Headache - These headaches are usually stress related. To prevent:
1.) Make sure your getting enough sleep
2.) Practice an effective stress reduction technique (Transcendental Meditation)
3.) Make sure your drinking enough water
Sinus Headaches - If one of your sinuses becomes inflamed, usually as the result of an allergic reaction, or an infection, the inflammation will prevent the outflow of mucus in the sinus and cause pain.
Preventing the inflammation from occurring in the first place will help prevent sinus headaches. Here are some tips:
1.) Eat well to keep your immune system strong, many people are allergic to dairy and this causes sin us headaches.
2.) Exercise regularly. Exercise helps the sinuses drain naturally, which reduces the likelihood that they will become clogged and inflamed.
3.) Avoid cigarette smoke and allergens. If you are sensitive to pollens, molds, pet dander, certain foods or dust, stay away from them.
4.) Drink plenty of water. Good hydration encourages your nose to drain naturally, thereby reducing the chances of nasal and sinus congestion.
Migraine Headaches
Migraines are chronic headaches that can cause significant pain for hours or even days. The cause of migraines is not really known although stress is considered one of the key triggers. Some people find certain food trigger migraines like chocolate or aged cheeses.
To prevent migraines try the following:
1.) Generally improve your health, eat well exercise etc
2.) Avoid cigarette smoke
3.) Avoid excessive caffeine
4.) Avoid alcohol
5.) Avoid stress
6.) Use an effective stress reduction technique (Transcendental Meditation)
Although it's said that migraines cannot be cured my personal experience suggests otherwise. When I was 16 I used to get a migraine headache every few weeks. The headaches where maybe not extremely sever as they only lasted hours not days and would go away once I fell asleep. I would however get all the migraine symptoms including vomiting, blurred vision and sensitivity to light and noise.
The fact that the headache disappeared as soon as I fell asleep led me to believe that the cause was stress related.
When I was 17 I started practicing Transcendental Meditation regularly and even moved to a community where Transcendental Meditation was practiced in groups. The migraines stopped.
I am 32 now and have practiced Transcendental Meditation regularly ever since I was 17, my migraines have not returned. It's impossible to know whether meditation was the reason my headaches stopped but it seems likely to me given the circumstances.
How painkillers help with headaches?
Pain is caused when nerve endings send out signals to the brain suggesting injury. Pain killers block this signal being sent, either directly at the injury or down the spinal chord or even in the brain itself :) x

I have a sharp pain on the right side of my head what could it be?
it sounds like your sufferning from a migrain. Its nothing to worry about but they can become really painful and if it is a throbbing pain and you get pains in one eye. There isn't much you can do. When i get them i take a tablet called migralieve which is very strong (always read the label) and i lay down in a dark room. it usually works.
If you want to stop them full stop then i would recommend acupuncture. However you have to keep having this done to keep migrain attacks at bay. This can become quite difficult if you have a busy schedule.
Migraines are incurable but you can take the symptoms away. Depending how old you are you can grow out of them. with 1 in 10 people suffering your not on your own.
Is there any way to stop headaches without taking medicine?
# Make sure you are hydrated.
# Have a snack that has some whole grains and a small amount of protein, to make sure your blood sugar is stable.
# Turn off the computer, turn off the cell phone - do some yoga (no inverted poses), or take a walk in the fresh air. If lights are bothering you, lay down in the dark. Take some time to just breathe.
# Take a nap.
# Use acupressure/trigger point therapy/massage
#* Easy trigger point therapy for the neck: put two tennis balls in a sock, tie the end of the sock, then lay down with your neck on the sock, pushing your neck into it. #* Acupressure for the head: pinch the webbing in between your thumb and forefinger. Pinch it deep down, it should feel like a dull ache. Pinch for a full minute. #* More acupressure for the head:Pinch the bridge of your nose, right between your eyeballs. #* Massage the fascia covering the jaw: Basically you want to move the skin over your face like silly putty. Push it upward for three seconds, then push/pull downward for three seconds. Work on moving it in all directions. Make sure you get close to the ear.

just pray. Binaural Beats are an alternative to using medication which can be effective for various conditions, including headache, insomnia, nausea, arthritic pain, etc. The application generally involves the use of stereo headphones, and a comfortable position for 20 minutes or so. No effort or concentration is required, and even falling asleep does not hinder the effectiveness. Regular use can not only treat the symptom, but be curative of the overall cause as well.

Will eating garlic make your headache go away?
yes On the other hand, people have reported garlic actually causing headaches as well. It really depends on you. Everyone's system is different. The best way to gauge whether it helps a headache or causes one is to eat it and see.
Yes, I feel that way all the time. I also have chronic sinus pressure all the time w/out an infection or allergies. The pressure in my head is worse with exersion, but I have sinus and ear pressure all the time as well as pulsitale tinnitus. If anyone has any ideas, I'd love the help! I have had an MRI, MRA, and lot's of blood work. I have multiple autoimmune diseases, so I wonder if it could be from them? I also had a positive test for lupus back in 2001, but it has been negative recently. My doc also suspects benign intracranial pressure. Whatever that is?
What could cause a Headache with numbness in upper lip?
There is more than one answer to this question. Stroke and brain tumor are at the top of the list. Any facial numbness that accompanies a headache...even if headache intensity gets better...should be evaluated by imaging. If it is a stroke, acting (getting to an ER) within the first 24 hours could reverse the damage.
Will hydrocodone give you a headache?
It would act only as a pain killer, it would not help treat the cause of the sore throat or the headache and could mask symptoms that could indicate a need for further treatment. It should be used that way only on the advice of your health care professional and only as a temporary measure.
Ask your pharmacist for some suggestions for over the counter headache and sore throat remedies that might be better with fewer side effects. While you are using hydrocodone you should not drive or operate machinery.
See the related question below for more methods of treating a sore throat safely.
What are some of the best medicines to take for headache relief?

Should you be worried if you have had a headache and nausea for over a week?
The best advice would be to see a board certified (ask them) headache specialist who is specially trained in the diagnosis and management of headache disorders. Headache and nausea are symptoms and can indicate any of hundreds of things going on that may or may not need to be addressed. Only a physician who is familiar with your history will be able to help you appropriately.
What is wrong with you if have high fever and headache?
There are literally hundreds of different things that can cause a high fever and a headache. You should take note of any other symptoms and contact your doctor if your fever goes over 103 degrees.
most probably, its a German measle, while i am typing this,i have all those symptoms you have stated. i don't know if im going to die..
NO. They are antibiotics.
anti = against; and bio = life.
Therefore antibiotics kill bacteria etc.
(Indirectly, antibiotics may contribute to pain relief if the pain is caused by the types of infection resulting from those germs which antibiotics kill. However, antibiotics should never be taken as a direct painkiller. Rather, one should take them to fight germs when one has become infected; but only after ascertaining that antibiotics are needed and will help. A doctor should be consulted. Taking antibiotics for too long, or when not needed, can have unwanted consequences.)
Alcohol, tobacco, histamine, or stress can trigger cluster headaches. Decreased blood oxygen levels (hypoxemia) can also act as a trigger, particularly during the night when an individual is sleeping.
How long do headaches last after a seizure?

Why do you get headaches nausea and dizziness from fluorescent lights?
I experience this same effect as the entire building I work at is now 100% flourescent lighting. I have been to the doctor numerous times and unfortuantely we couldn't identify the cause after many of many attempts.
Thought fortuantely, I was able to get some hits on the effects of this type of lighting had on others. So, I had our facilities guy (he owed me a favor from fixing his PC) turn off the lighting around my cube. Bingo, no more sickness!!! Now, I'm back under the lightening to confirm it wasn't a fluke and I'm so sick by the end of the day, I can barely drive home.
They say this is caused by the frequency the light is emitted from the bulbs. Like an old computer screen that flickers as it refreshes the screen, light does the same thing but has severe affects if way out beyond natural frequencies.
Some types of lamps cause headaches more often than others. Doesn't really matter if it's t12 or t8, magnetic or electronic. I worked under them for 13 years as a teacher. During that time I experienced the eyestrain, headaches, fatigue, blurry vision, etc.. I researched this for years and set up at lab at home to test every combination of lamp and ballast to see what was causing my headaches and ill health. I even worked as an electrician for a year to find out if the wiring could affect the way the lights operated. Turns out that there are several factors that can make the lamp flicker more so that the eye is strained causing these headaches. If you use the right lamp and is wired correctly is very unlikely to bother you. I am actually considering starting up a consultancy business for businesses, offices, or schools or anyone who is affected by these lights. I will also have a money back guarantee if your headaches don't disappear. I will include an email here if anyone wants more info. stephen_707@hotmail.com
Why do I get stabbing pains on the left side of my head?
The brain does not have pain receptors like other parts of the body, though the vascular system that is composed of the veins and arteries that supply blood to the brain do, in fact, have pressure and pain receptors as anyone who has had a migraine headache will tell you. The other thing that often causes pain that feels like it's inside the head is actually from the muscles that hold it up, namely in the neck. Pain can be diffuse and difficult to locate, but here are a few guidelines that may help. If it is on one side of the head and is sharp and throbbing, it is more likely to be vascular in origin. If it is more diffuse and constant and you feel it on both sides of the head, more or less equally, then it's more likely to be caused by muscles in spasm. If it continues and you a still concerned a trip to the doctor or ER might be a good idea, especially if it is accompanied by a fever or loss of coordination.
