Can a concussion from four years ago cause headaches slurred speech and clumsiness?

Yes, a concussion can cause ongoing problems with memory, coordination, cognition, language, speech, etc. depending on the location and severity of the lesion. Concusions, or Mild Traumatic Brain Injuries (mTBI) are more serious than most people believe; though less severe than stroke or TBI, they can and often do cause lingering symptoms.

If these symptoms are NEW, it is of upmost importance to get medical assistance immediately; however, if they have been present since the initial injury, consult your primary physician or neurologist and ask for a referral to physical and speech therapy- both would be beneficial in your case.

Hope this helps!

What does this sound like im not running a fever you have a headache coughing and sore throat?

It could be a cold, but more likely just an allergy. If you have any sinus pressure, then it would point more towards a cold. My suggestion is to rest, don't go beyond your limits, drink loads of fluids, maybe take a hot bath, and be aware of your symptoms and fever. As soon as you suspect a fever is spiking, take fever reducers immediately to avoid possibly worse effects. If you can take about 1500mg of vitamin C (a day) then that would help your immune system fight off the infection. It is not necessary to do so of anything I have said. Those were just my suggestions.

Can ophthalmologists diagnose Temporal Arteritis?

Yes, if you find an honest ophthalmologist who cares. I actually had one tell me that Temporal Arteritis isn't seen in people in their early 60's. Is he NUTS?

On the other hand, when I was in my late 50's, I had an Optometrist tell me that an artery or vein in the temple is usually biopsied to diagnose Temporal Arteritis. He also asked me if I had eyebrow pain and jaw pain, which I did and still do--among other horrible/painful symptoms. The Optometrist was the REAL specialist.

Perhaps if some of the doctors--who put patients through hell because they choose to lie instead of diagnose diseases--would experience the same illnesses, they would wake up and do what is right for patients instead of herding them through like a bunch of cattle. Did they just take a medical oath and then leave it in the ditch, or what?
