Do you get a new name in heaven?
YES. In the New Earth and in the New Jerusalem every son and daughter of Yahweh will receive a new name to go with their new, perfect, heavenly immortal body. Revelation 2:17
We each will get a white stone, and inside the stone will reveal your awesome new name :)
Even our brother JESUS receives a new name! Revelations 3:12.
But Yahweh, Our Almighty Father and God will never change His Name, because 'YAHWEH' is His name Forever! Exodus 3:15
Did you read when Moses & Elijah came to visit Jesus, Peter, James and John on the Mountain top? Well, in the New Earth, all their names will be changed! haha how cool is that?
Do Muslim believe in heaven and hell?
Yes of course & the both are mentioned in the Holy Quran. refer to question below for more information.
Is God real and is there a hell?
Christians, Muslims and Jews believe that God is real; Christians, Muslims and Zoroastrians believe hell exists, but Jews do not. There is no objective proof that either God or hell actually exists; it is a matter of faith if you wish to believe.
When you go to heaven will you fly?
In heaven you will be totally united to the will of God and will not be thinking of anything else.
Whether any of us will go to heaven depends first and foremost on whether there is a heaven: as yet unproven. And all we know about heaven is pure speculation, as no one has been there and returned to tell us about it.
For us earth-bound creatures, the ability to fly may seem delightful, but supposing we could fly in heaven perhaps an eternity of flying about would have us wishing for new experiences. So, at best we do not know, and in any case we would soon lose interest.
How did the concept of Heaven and Hell become a Christian doctrine?
The concept of heaven as a place of reward entered Judaism at the time of the Babylonian Exile, very likely from the Zoroastrian religion of the Persian liberators, and thus became part of Christian doctrine. The Persian concept of hell as a place of punishment was eventually rejected by the Jews, but was resurrected as part of Christian belief. This might have been from residual elements of belief in the concept among some of the Jewish population, or it might have been the result of continued contact with the Persians. We know from the reference to Zoroastrian priests, or magi, in Matthew's Gospel that early Christians were well aware of Zoroastrianism.
Those who believe in heaven believe that it is so wonderful that nobody can ever get bored. Heaven is supposed to be so divine that it is all-wonderful and completely indescribable.
If you get bored in heaven, your God is too small. Expand your concept of God. When you are with a person who has all the attributes of God, wise, loving, holy, gracious etc., will you get bored?
It really depends on what you believe. I believe that when we go to heaven we will be busy being missionaries to people who never got to hear about the true church, and other important things.
Contrary to some popular beliefs, Human beings use 100% of their brains, but not all at once. It stands to reason that eternity will allow us to access all 100% of our minds all of the time, thus giving us new knowledge of the universe. I doubt we are going to be sitting on rocking chairs and passing eternity by with nothing to do, explore or learn. Boredom is a concept of earthly terminology meaning having nothing to do or doing nothing of interest. Eternity will be filled with much activity but that is not limited to merely a Heaven or earth.Eternity is a long time. Being bored there doesn't even compute.
A: 03The answer quite simply is no. You will not be bored in Heaven. But what you will be doing there depends on which "Heaven" you are referring to. Upon death, the spirits of all men are taken to the Spirit World. The spirit world, or the world of the spirits is comprised of two places, prison and paradise or heaven and hell. But this is only an intermediate state where we are separated from our bodies and awaiting the Resurrection. Those who go to this heaven or paradise will be, as the first answer mentioned, doing missionary work to the spirits in Hell or prison. The spirits in hell are they because they did not accept Christ in this life. There are many people in the world that never even hear the name of Christ, but there they will have the chance to learn about Him and accept Him.
Then comes the Resurrection and the Judgment. Those who inherit Heaven or the Celestial Kingdom after the judgment are definitely not going to get bored.
Romans 8:17 teaches us that we can become "joint-heirs with Christ". And Hebrews 1:2 tells us that Christ was "appointed heir of all things". So what does that mean? If Christ is heir of all things, and we can be joint-heirs with him, then we are the heirs of all things. Simply put, all that the Father has.
In this life we grow up to become like our parents. Babies grow up to be adults and do adult things. Puppies grow up to be full grown dogs. Bear cubs grow up to become bears. Likewise, "we are the children of God" (Romans 8:16), and thus we can become like him. That is what we will be doing in Heaven. We will be doing the same things that God is currently doing, and we will become like him.
A: 04Anyone who's going to go there won't be. You'll be worse than bored if you go to the other place.
A: 05You should start by considering those things that will make you bored in this physical existence, which only lasts for approximately ninety (90) years and then compare them to the place called heaven. It is like having Christmas every day for the next billion years with the same activities every single day, the same food and the same environment.
The basic fact of life is that we measure pleasure against pain. If we have no sadness then there is nothing to be compared and to therefore interpret happiness. During our short lifetime on this earth we experience many challenges as we grow through each phase of life and this keeps us going. But the most miserable time is that which is spent at a beautiful (heavenly) retirement home. If there are no thrills in life "no roller-coaster ride" then we simply become couch-potatoes watching others enjoy the ride.
A: 06If I enjoy sex, beer, hot Pizza (it's cold in heaven, no heat) skydiving, snorkeling, hard rock, (no loud music aloud in heaven), riding my dirt bike, shooting pool and the likes, I would surely be bored in heaven. Besides, I don't want to go to Heaven; I'll miss all my friends.
A: 07It all comes down to what you believe really. The more you believe the more happiness will enter your soul, the less you believe in Him the more happiness will leave your soul and space would be occupied by boredom, hate, and sorrow. So if you wish to be happy and carefree then believe, if you want to be bored and miserable then don't believe.
A: 08Heaven is just that. It's a place where everything is perfect. There' are no tears or hate or pain of any sort. It's spending an eternity in the joy and love of Gods presence. I don't think the concept of boredom could ever really even enter ones mind when you think about it. How can you have such joy and be bored?
Heaven can be whatever you want it to be.
Heaven is a place for you to discover. Heaven is where there is peace and good.
A: 10There is no such place so no you won't get bored
A: 11In virtually all of western thought concepts of heaven include a culture-bound, powerful but not necessarily correct assumption that being in heaven will involve the continuing of each person's consciousness, personality, knowledge and self-awareness. It makes sense that people would resist the idea of giving up anything that makes one 'unique'. Think of your favorite television program, and heaven is like 'the next season!' Earth-II. It is possible that this is immature thinking. I have strong enough doubts that heaven exists, but if it does it is not going to be filled with all the things that trip us up on earth. They are the things we consider most precious; they are so precious in fact that we don't even consider them as things that we may be called upon to relinquish-- our individuality, will and self-absorption. So I think that heaven, if real, will not be a boring place at all but a place of complete oneness. Perhaps it is hell that is filled with individuals who cannot consider their uniqueness as something that must be put aside.
A: 12Most people believe when they die they go to heaven. When ask what you will do in heaven most reply with different guesses. Whats loving about our Heavenly Father is that he never leaves us wondering about things like this. Rev 5:9,10 shows us what those who have a heavenly hope will do, it says" And they sing a new song, saying: "You are worthy to take the scroll and open its seals, because you were slaughtered and with your blood you BOUGHT PERSONS for God out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, and you made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God, and they are to RULE AS KINGS OVER THE EARTH." Rev 14:1-4 shows the number of priest who go to heaven is limited to only 144,000 who are bought from the earth. Luke 12:32 refers to this group as a "little flock." So these ones have the privilege of working with Jesus ruling as kings over the earth. The purpose for any government or kingdom is to keep order and peace among its subjects or people. So this select group will be very busy in helping Jesus Christ himself to restore the earth back into a earthly paradise which is Jehovahs original purpose. John 10:16 makes a very distinct separation of those who have the heavenly hope and those who have a earthly hope when it says "And I have OTHER SHEEP, which are NOT of this fold; those also I must bring, and they will listen to my voice, and they will become one flock, one shepherd." These other sheep are ones who will be earthly subjects on a restored paradise earth being guided by Christ Kingdom Rule. So ones who do go to heaven will NEVER get bored at all!

Some believe that Jakov and Vicka, the Medjugorje visionaries are the only two human beings in the history of the world who were physically in body, taken by the hand by the Holy Virgin Mary, to Heaven, Purgatory and hell. The most amazing description I have ever heard was from the visionary that saw heaven herself. "…it can't be described. That is something beyond description. It is filled with some sort of beautiful light…people…flowers…angels…All is filled with some indescribable joy. Your heart stands still when you look at it." Read more about it and see for yourself!
Jewish death and mourning rituals are complex. Traditionally between the time a person dies and the burial, the body should never be left unattended. After death, the body is washed, dressed for burial, wrapped in a shroud, and (outside Israel) usually put in a coffin. Embalming is not allowed, and the coffin must be a plain wood box with no metal parts, so that it completely decays after burial. The body must be buried as quickly as possible, but not on the Sabbath, generally not on holy days, and time may be allowed for mourners to travel to the funeral. The net result is that burials are frequently around the third day after death. At the funeral, the mourners are all offered a chance to shovel some dirt into the grave so that each personally has an opportunity to fulfill the commandment to bury the dead. For one week after the funeral, close relatives sit shiva, remaining in a state of intense mourning. The community converges on the mourners bringing food and holding daily serevices at the mourner's house. For 11 months after the death, the mourners try to pray with a minyan so that they can say the Mourner's Kaddish, ideally at every daily service, but as frequently as possible. At the end of this period of mourning, the gravestone is set on the grave, with a brief ceremony. After that, the close relatives try to say the Mourner's Kaddish on the anniversary of the death and at the memorial service that is part of three pilgrimage festivals.
Beliefs? Judaism is not deeply centered on belief, so there is no requirement for a consistent view of what happens after death. Jews are commanded to act in this world, and asked not to worry too much about the world to come. As a result, we have lots of stories about the world to come, but they aren't consistent, and the conflicts between the stories aren't considered important. So, more or less, what happens after death? The souls of the departed are put on hold until judgement day, when the righteous join in the resurrection and live on in the world to come in a land of eternal Sabbath, with the unrighteous souls left out. Or, for up to a year after death, the souls of the departed are purified in Gehennah, taking a break from their torment every time they hear their students or descendants recite the Kaddish. The mourners are given the opportunity to say amen, and if they do, they are released from Gehennah and join God in the garden of eden. Only the most wicked souls spend more than 11 months in Gehennah, so for a mourner to spend a year mourning would imply belief that the deceased was really wicked.
Because Protestantism did not really break away from the Catholic religion due to 'beliefs'. They mainly broke away from the 'authority'; and kept the same beliefs in-tact.
Answer:
The "immortal soul" doctrine began in the Garden of Eden:
"...the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die." (Gen.3:4)
It was adopted by the succeeding generations of rebellious man, his world-ruling empires and his religions... all "believing" it to be true, accepting it as unproved fact [and rejecting the Truth of God's Word -- "...the soul that sinneth, it shall die." - Ezek.18:4 & 20 ].
"...thou shalt surely die." (Gen.2:17)
Beginning with the first world empire this side of the flood, Babylon, with its "mystery religion," from which most of today's social and religious customs and traditions stem... the "immortal soul" doctrine thrived [thrives].
Finally, the Greek philosophers wrote it down in their "books of wisdom" and taught it in their academies. And the doctrines of the "immortality of the soul' and other convoluted philosophical teachings were institutionalized by them [and are still taught in today's academies and universities]... and the next world-ruling empire that succeeded them -- Rome -- adopted it and adapted to it; which the deceived world inherited, again, in both its societies and religions.
The Catholic church merely inherited the "immortal soul" doctrine from the Roman Empire... who ultimately inherited it from Babylon... who inherited it from across the flood, where their ancient ancestors first "believed" what they were told by the serpent, and obeyed his voice.
"Protestantism" isn't the result of the beliefs of "one founder." Different people at different times and places separated themselves from the catholic church for this or that reason. That's why we have so many different names of "Protestant denominations" today... like Lutherans, Calvinists, Baptists, as well as more than 400 others.
"Protestantism" didn't reject all of catholicism's beliefs when each one branched off and separated from their "mother." And for the vast majority of them... the doctrine of "the immortality of the soul" was never rejected or a cause of separation.
God's Word has simply never been believed by most people [even religious people]. And still isn't, today.
The serpent's ancient lie is still thriving in the world... believed and cherished by people and cultures everywhere [even alleged "atheist" Chinese "pray" to their "immortal" dead ancestors]. "Protestantism" never gave the "immortal soul" doctrine much thought at all as a reason for "protest," as each one in their own time parted from their "mother." Satan gave it to man from the beginning... man rejected the Truth of God's Word ["...thou shalt surely die..."], and most people "believe" what they're told without proof.
Another Answer:
Because not only the Bible clearly teaches it, it is something that is self-evident to any spiritually conscious individual.
Daniel 12:2 - "And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt." Mark 9:44 - "Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched."
Even from the scientific point of view, we know from the theory of relativity that time is physical property that is affected by mass, velocity and other variables, those physical properties do not apply to our consciousness, which is essentially information, or software not hardware and is not subject to physical laws.
Can children born out of wedlock enter the gates of Heaven?
Children born out of wedlock can certainly enter heaven if they fulfil the conditions for salvation, namely repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. They are not excluded under the New Testament system of religion although there were some prohibitions which were in place in the Old Testament under the Mosaic Law.
At the Jerusalem Council in Acts 15 this matter of keeping the law was specifically discussed and those who wished to impose the Old Testament legal system on Christians were soundly 'defeated'. No such prohibition was mentioned or even considered there or in any subsequent deliberations of the Christian church.
According to the Old Testament
*** They cannot (implied)***
Deuteronomy 23:2 A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the LORD.
Addendum; If the B's cannot attend the "congregation of the Lord", then it is implied that the B's cannot enter heaven.
*** They can (implied) ***
Deuteronomy 24;16. The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin.
2Kings 14:6. But the children of the murderers he slew not: according unto that which is written in the book of the law of Moses, wherein the LORD commanded, saying, The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children be put to death for the fathers; but every man shall be put to death for his own sin.
Jeremiah 31:29-30. In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children's teeth are set on edge. But every one shall die for his own iniquity.
Exekiel 18:20. The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
Where will atheists go if they do not go to heaven or hell?
It depends on how it is read:
What do Atheists believe will happen to them?
Most Atheists are monists, believing that a person is only their physical nature, whereas most Theists are dualists, believing that a person has both a physical nature and a spiritual component. Monists argue that the brain is the source of a person's personality and essence and, therefore, when a person dies, and the brain begins to shutdown and decompose, that is the end of that person. (This is much the same way that dualists would conceptualize the destruction of a robot.) Dualists argue that a person's personality comes from an ethereal soul which can leave the body and go to an afterlife. Atheists who are monists take the monist position, while Atheists who are dualists (most commonly Buddhist Athiests) believe in whatever afterlife their tradition teaches.
What do Theists believe will happen to Atheists?
This entirely depends on the religion and even on the Theist himself. Most religions argue that Atheists will go to Hell or some other place of torture, but other religions do not believe Atheism to be sinful or to warrant pain if the Atheist is a good person.
As per Abhidhamma (3rd Pitaka of Dhamma), there are 08 main hells. There are 16 'mini' Hells surrounding each of these 08 hells. There is a darkness Hell, a river like hell and a tree like Hell! So, (8x16)+3= 131
As there are 16 mini hells [4 mini hells in each of 4 directions] surrounding each main hell, it is [8 x 16 = 128] mini hells. (remember that's only mini hells total)
Adding them to the 8 main hells, the number becomes [8 + 128 = 136].
The structures or kind of tortures in those hells should not add up here because we are calculating number of hells; not type of hells.
And yes, this is according to Buddhism. However, it's not from Abhidhamma Pitaka (The Profound Doctrine); it's from Devadūta-sūtra, Bālapaṇḍita-sūtra and Abhidharma-kośa. The Abhidharma-kośa is a book written by a Tibetan monk; and used by Mahayana Buddhism and Tibetan Buddhism.
It is said that there are 16 main hells { then it's gonna be 144 or 272 hells total }
The 8 hells (found in Majjhima Nikaya - 130th discourse):
1. Sañjīva (Hell of Retributive Justice)
2. Kālasūtra (Hell of Black Thread)
3. Saṅghāta (Hell of Crushing)
4. Raurava (Hell of Screaming)
5. Mahāraurava (Hell of Great Screaming)
6. Tapana (Hell of Burning)
7. Pratāpana (Hell of Great Burning)
8. Avīci (Great Hell of Ceaseless Torture and Sufferings)
The 8 cold hells (found in Nirvāṇa-sūtra):
1. Hahava
2. Atata
3. Alala
4. Ababa
5. Utpalal (Blue Lotus)
6. Padma (Crimson Lotus)
7. Kumuda (Scarlet Lotus)
8. Pundarika (White Lotus)
The 8 cold hells (derived from some sources):
1. Arbuda (Chilblains)
2. Nirarbuda (Chilblains Bursting)
3. Aṭaṭa (Chattering Teeth)
4. Hahava
5. Huhuva
6. Utpala (Blue Lotus)
7. Padma (Crimson Lotus)
8. Mahāpadma (Large Crimson Lotus)
Definitely! If you check out most any holy book you will see what it says. Heaven is a place where there is absolutely nothing wrong at all! It is a place of abundant peace. It is where the perfect and Holy dwell.
Do you have to accept Christ to go to heaven?
The Bible teaches a new heaven coming to a new Earth which becomes the headquarters of the God Family (see Revelation 21 etals). Only Jesus ascended back into heaven (see John 3:13) and no one else.
It also teaches that there is only one name by which humanity can inherit eternal salvation:
Acts 4:10-12New King James Version (NKJV)10 let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole. 11 This is the stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone. 12 Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.
Can a saved person in heaven redeem a soul in hell?
It depends on which Christian church you look at; despite the fact they all read the same Bible the interpretation is not consistent. I personally belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints also known as the Mormon church. My answer is based on that fact.
The short answer to your question is no.
Once a person is judged and sent to their degree of glory (heaven or hell) then that decision is final. This answer relays a great sense of urgency; that if we want to go to heaven we must decide that now. A few great scripture passages from the Bible:
Psalm 119:60 " I made haste, and delayed not to keep thy commandments"
Matthew 25: 1-15 the parable of the ten virgins; some were saved others were not. There was no redemption after they procrastinated.
Hope this help
Do Mormon husbands decide Heaven or Hell for wife?
No. Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) believe that Jesus Christ is the final judge of all mankind and that only He may decide if a person will be saved or damned.
Do Christian Scientists believe in Heaven?
They do, but not in the same concept as other Christian churches. Christian Scientists believe that heaven and hell are just a state of mind and not actual places such as the bible teaches.
Did ancient jews believe in hell?
The name and details are probably different than in other religions, but the short answer is yes. "And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcasses of the men that have rebelled against Me; for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched" (Isaiah 66:24). One of the central beliefs of Judaism, as codified by Rambam (Maimonides, 1135-1204), is that the soul continues to exist after death and is treated in accordance with the person's actions while he/she was alive. All outstanding accounts are settled after this life. Some cases illustrate this point, since this entire world wouldn't be enough to reward a Moses or punish a Hitler.
The afterlife is discussed at length in the Talmud, though the exact nature of the rewards and punishments is generally not given since it would be like describing the colors of a sunrise to someone who was blind from birth. See for example the Talmud, Rosh Hashanah 17a, for a few details.
It is important to note that Judaism is a rare case in that it does not condemn non-adherents to eternal damnation. Worthy non-Jews are able to merit the rewards in the afterlife without conversion.
Another important point is the efficacy of repentance, which can change one's spiritual "balance" relatively easily. See for example Deuteronomy 30:1-10 for one of the Tanakh's many passages on this topic.
Can you list which Christian denominations believe that anyone may go to heaven?
The Catholic Church, the Anglican Church, the United Church, & possibly the Orthodox Church.

What is the place called before you go to heaven?
When Adam and Eve were created, where did God put them? On Earth. Had Adam not eaten the forbidden fruit, Where would he be today? Alive and well right here on earth. Why did God create a universe so vast that it is endless and it is made out matter? He created the endless universe for mankind because humans are supposed to live for all of eternity in a fleshly form. We were never meant to die. The only reason death came upon humanity is because Adam ate the forbidden fruit. (Genesis 2: 17) The sacrifice of Jesus Christ is to buy us back from the condition of death and restore humanity back to its originally intended condition. (Romans 5:19) That is eternal life as a perfected person of flesh living on a paradise earth. Read Psalms 37:9-11, 29. Ask yourself, "What will my world look like?" once all of the prophecies in Psalm 37 come true. Explore this understanding very carefully. Death and heaven are not part of our original design by God. Had Adam not sinned, he would still be here today on a paradise earth. That in itself says a lot about what God's purpose is for mankind. To find out more, put the link below together. ↓
