How much does it cost to produce a skateboard?

There are certain websites where you can design your own boards and they cost about $50. but in all reality to make a board from scratch is alot less than that, Skateboards normally go for around $60 $70 dollars a piece, and the companies that make it need to make a profit off each board. The cost to produce a skateboard is about $20 $25 dollars maybe less.

Or...

I'll assume you're asking how much the companies spend to make the boards they sell. In many cases, the companies also own a woodshop -- that is, they own the company where the wood veneers are pressed and shaped into a skateboarding with concave. For a good American-made board, the actual cost of the wood plies and the process is somewhere int he neighborhood of $8 to $10. Then the wood shop sells it to the company. for $16 to $20. This is usually with the graphics. Then the company sells it to the distributor for around $30, or direct to a shop for around $35. Then the shop sells it to the customer for somewhere between $45 to $60. There are also good boards comping out of China, but the key is that the boards must be made out of rock-hard Canadian Maple. It is a hard, stiff wood and it is what is responsible for the pop and feel of a good skateboard. While these nuances do not matter to the novice, to anyone who skateboards regularly, the difference is very noticeable and after riding a good board, it's hard to ride a substandard board. The key thing if you want a good board is to buy from a reputable skateboarding company who is dedicated to skateboarding. These brands will sponsor skateboarders, they will be active in marketing their brand, and they will constantly be improving their products. There are a lot of good companies, but some of the best include Zero, Flip, Toy Machine, Foundation, Mystery, Slave, Real, AntiHero, Think, Blood Wizard, Lifeblood, ZooYork, Almost, Blind, Darkstar, Dogtown, 5Boro, Stereo, Birdhouse, Sk8Mafia, Element, Santa Cruz, World Industries, Powell, Pocket Pistols, Girl, Chocolate, and more. This is not a complete list, but off the top of my head. If you like a company, that's what matters if the board is for you.

Wheels cost a couple bucks each to actually make, and go through the same price markup at each step of the way. There are cheap wheels, and then there are good companies who actually do research and work to create better wheels. This is a scientific process and is not always easy, and the best companies work towards improving their products endlessly. There are many good wheels and wheel companies. Some of these companies have been making wheels for a long time and have perfected their wheels over time. Spitfire, Ricta, Bones, Pig, OJ, Autobahn are some of the better wheels brands but this is NOT a complete list.

Trucks cost about $6-$8 each to actually produce, then they are sold to shops for $8-$16 Although it's not absolutely true, for the most part, the better trucks cost more, and the end price to the consumer is anywhere between $20 to $40 each. Two are needed per board. Pretty much Independent, Thunder, Venture, Krux, Theeve, Royal, and Tensor are the better truck brands for street skating. There are many wacky brands for longboarding as well as a handful of standards...

What sports were played in 1900?

The sport of greyhound racing was introduced to Great Britain by the U.S. in 1925 or 1926 (one source has listed 1925, another 1926). As the sport gained several followers many new tracks were built, and in 1928, the National Greyhound Racing Club was established. In both 1929 and 1930, a notable "athlete," Mick the Miller, was crowned champion of the Greyhound Derby. The first track in Manchester featured a mechanical hare for the dogs to chase around the track. This practice is still carried out today, but metal "bait" may be used instead of mechanical hares. Greyhound racing still remains popular in many countries such as the U.S., Great Britain, Australia, Mexico, Ireland, and Spain. It is not, however, a sport of the 1900's. Records indicate that Egyptians began racing dogs in 2500 B.C. Many greyhounds were also used to hunt hares and other animals. The breed usually features coats of black, gray, and/or white and weigh 65-70 pounds. They have been clocked in at speeds of up to 40 mph and well-performing racers can bring in $200,000.
Baseball teams started in the 1920's. This era was also the one that started basketball teams and football teams. Baseball teams traveled across the country recruiting people to play from cities they visited.

Who invented a clipper ship?

The Baltimore Clipper was a slim, fast vessel influenced by the French luggers and privateers, developed and built in the Fells Point shipyards of Baltimore around 1790. The word "clipper" refers to speed, as in "clip along."

The Baltimore clipper was schooner rigged with two raked (slanting aft) masts carrying gaff sails and gaff topsails. These were fore-and-aft sails; this means their luffs, forward edges, ran along a single line or a spar. To go into the wind, "square" sails needed braces to hold the leading edge taut. Even a carefully braced square sail wasn't an efficient airfoil, so square-rigged ships couldn't go much further than 10° to 20° into the wind. Fore-and-aft sails trimmed more efficiently and could operate 33° or a bit more into the wind. This doesn't sound like much but it makes a vast difference in distance traveled and speed over the bottom.

In addition to the foresail and mainsail and their gaff topsails, Baltimore clippers carried several jibs and staysails forward - these were also fore-and-aft sails. Many were rigged as topsail schooners, having two square-rigged topsails available on the foremast for running before the wind, usually in the offshore trade winds.

The typical Baltimore Clipper was not large, sixty or eighty feet on deck. Her hull was deep and narrow and "sharp" - her bow cut through the water rather than pushing it aside.

Baltimore clippers had a checkered history. On one hand, they were superb blockade runners, outmaneuvering and outdistancing British men o' war which were preventing United States merchant vessels from leaving or entering harbors. They were profitable privateers during the War of 1812 (sometimes called the Second War of Independence). But they were also infamous as slavers, slave-carrying vessels on the Middle Passage of the slave trade between Africa and the Caribbean slave-holding kennels.

That all depends on how much money they had or lack of....but I'm guessing they would have the same animals as a modern day farmer. Pigs, goats, chickens, maybe an ox for work. I think horses were expensive and only for nobility or were owned by 'hot-shots'. I didn't live in that era so I'm not positive about my answer...LOL.

An athlete who became a legend at the ancient Greek Olympics was Milo of Kroton. A wrestler, Milo wore the winner's laurel wreath six times.

Milo continued to practice the sport till he was well over 40 years old. He enjoyed displaying his strength. He would clasp a pomegranate in his hand and challenge spectators to take it from him. Though he held the fruit tightly, it used to remain miraculously undamaged. Sometimes, he would stand on a greased iron disc and invite people to push him off it.

Milo met a tragic end. One day, while walking in the woods, he saw a tree trunk that had just been cut, with wedges driven into the crack to keep it open. He decided to use his hands to separate it further. But when he tried, the wedges flew out and his hands were trapped in the trunk. He was unable to break free and when night fell, a wild animal killed and devoured him.
