How do UV-B rays affect people?
UV light (particularly UV-B and UV-C, which are regions of the spectrum with shorter wavelengths than the UV-A part) can cause skin cancer. It does this because the DNA molecules in your body absorb UV light, and the light has enough energy to break bonds in the DNA, causing harmful rearrangements in your genetic code. When cells with damaged DNA reproduce, that can result in cancerous cells. See more details here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultraviolet
What role does the Messiah play in the future for Jews?
It depends on the time frame you are talking about, now if you are talking about the Jews during Jesus era than the Jews of course rejected him.
AnswerThe word messiah is the anglicised version of the Hebrew 'moshiach'. Moshiach literally means anointed and was a title given to any person who was properly anointed with oil as part of their initiation to their service of HaShem (The Creator).
Historically, we had many valid moshiachim (pl): kings, priests, prophets, judges. There is a prophecy of a future moshiach, however, there is nothing supernatural about him, he'll be a religious Jew who will lead the country of Israel. The idea of the moshiach is a relatively minor subject in Judaism.

While generally the above is correct, there is an odd part to Jewish/Nazi history concerning Jewish collaborators.
Some Jews, for a variety of motives, did collaborate with the Nazis. They were called Judenräte which means Jewish Council (not rat). They acted as liaison between the Nazis and the ghetto or camp inmates.
There was also the Jüdischer Ordnungsdienst or Jewish Order Police commonly called the Ghetto Police. This particular group were used by the Nazis to help with the deportations. The Order Police were terrifying and brutal.
There were some Jewish Kapos - supervisors - in the camps. They were roundly despised and feared for their brutality.
In the Polish Ghetto there was also what was referred to as Group 13 or the Jewish Gestapo. Not only did they help organise the Ghetto, they helped maintain a spy network within the Ghetto, policed it, were involved in the black market. They willingly collaborated with the Nazis for power.

What can the Pyramid of Hate teach us about the Holocaust?
it teaches how people hate jews in that time.
The 'pyramid of hate' is just an artificial construct where someone has seen it as their place to judge that physical, mental, economic, political and other forms of discrimination are somehow better or worse than others, that there is a definable ranking on suffering.
Know that this is not true; you cannot rank these things, nor excuse one because it is not as bad as another. If the tendency for one of these things is within a person, then there is the potential for all of them, as was proven in the Holocaust.
It is however a method used to teach children about how prejudice can escalate to violence.

How did the non-Jewish and the Jewish react to the Holocaust?
How the Jews reacted: They were horrified.. everywhere you walked in the streets, there were dead bodies... but not any bodies.. bodies of their own. Jews were being horribly treated as if they were nothing.. all thanks to Hitler.
How the non- Jews reacted: Well, to tell the truth.. most of them did nothing. Most of the world, even though they knew what was going on... ignored it. They were scared that if they got involved they would be killed. Luckily, some of the non- Jews, willingly, accepted to hide Jews and look after them until the war was over even though the penalty was death. Most of them did not succeed but some did. YAY :)
How it because a World War: America finally stood up to Germany and fought back. Japan joined Germany. But then other countries joined the Jews side. Soon there was fighting until the Germans gave in. YAY :)
Why was the Catholic church not anti Nazi in World War 2?
Many individual Roman Catholics were anti-Nazi and suffered for it. However, the Roman Catholic Church as an institution was preoccupied with the fear of Communism, and many saw the Nazis as a bulwark against Communism. In addition, the authoritarism of Nazism and Fascism appealed to many conservative RCs. ---- The Catholic Church has always been anti- all murderous tyrannies - both Nazism and Communism. The Church quickly learned that she had to be diplomatic in her expressions against the National Socialists after they retaliated for priests and bishops denunciations of their actions by imprisoning or even murdering innocent civilians. It seemed prudent to discontinue the denunciations in many cases simply for fear of making matters worse by provoking retaliations against those most at risk. In our own day, many Americans believe that President Obama is doing the right thing by playing it "cool" vis a vis the present Iranian regime - he is not speaking out in support of the Iranians demonstrating against the recent election results (June, 2009), and not denouncing those in power for election fraud. Fair-minded persons realize that President Obama is playing it smart by not provoking these nutty leaders to really smash down the demonstrators. Naturally, people who detest President Obama to begin with, and who want to interpret everything he does or doesn't do in the worst possible light, will accuse the President of being too "soft" on the Iranian power regime, of not doing enough to help the demonstrators. They are entitled to their opinion, I suppose, but most fair-minded people don't share it. Similarly, people predisposed to detest all things Catholic will interpret the Catholic hierarchy's reticence about the Nazi grab for power, conveniently ignoring the many instances in which, innocent people suffered when the Church spoke out, and propose that the Catholic Church as a whole supported the Nazis. They are entitled to their opinion, too, I suppose, but most fair-minded people don't share it.
