Can you wire two 240 volt room air conditioners on one breaker?

This will depend upon the current draw of the ACs as well as the size of the circuit. My guess, based upon what 240V units tend to draw, is that you probably won't be able to, especially if the circuit is only 15 Amps. With a 20 Amp, you MIGHT be able to. You will have to check the nameplates on each unit to find what the current draw is and ADD THEM TOGETHER. And remember that AC units should be considered a continuous load. This is when a load may run for three hours or longer. Here, you must "derate " the circuit by 80%. So a 15 Amp circuit should only have a load of 12 Amps; while a 20 Amp should have a load of only 16 Amps. My best "guesstimate" is that they will need their own circuit.

Your central air does not blow cold air at all?

You will have to call somebody. The reason for this could be one of many. I am not trying to alarm you but after checking the basics, if you cannot get it to run at least you will not have paid for a tripped breaker or something silly like that. The question does not give enough info to lead you in any direction other than to check the silly stuff. If you do check things and have a specific question. Please repost.

How many volts does a typical electric range oven element use?

Can I have 120 volts at the light fixture but the light won't turn on I have checked the wiring and changed the light?

If you have 120 v at the wires connecting to the light fixture the light should come on. Its possible the voltage is not getting to the inside of the socket. Carefully measure the voltage between the metal blip at the bottom of the socket and the metal along the sides. Be careful here. Its tight quarters and easy for the voltmeter leads to touch the wrong things. Before doing that I would try a third light bulb. I've gotten them bad right out of the package. If you have voltage inside the socket, then for some reason the light bulb is not screwing far enough down so the bottom touches that metal blip on the bottom of the socket. If you don't have voltage inside the socket then that's your problem and you'll need a new socket.

Do you need adapter for US appliances in Canada?

It depends on the type of appliances. Many US appliances can be used in Canada without an adapter, as both countries use 120V electricity. However, you may need a plug adapter to fit the US plug into Canadian outlets. It is always recommended to check the voltage requirements of your specific appliance before using it in a different country.

What is wrong when my thermostat is turned off but the air conditioning unit fan outside is still spinning and keeps spinning all day?

If your thermostat is turned off but the air conditioning unit fan outside is still spinning, it could indicate a problem with the fan relay or a control board issue. This can cause the fan to run continuously even when the system is supposed to be off, leading to potential wear and tear on the fan motor. It's advisable to have a professional HVAC technician inspect and diagnose the issue to prevent further damage to the system.

If 220 volt appliances consume half the power of 110 volt appliances why aren't refrigerators being sold in the USA with 220 volts?

True, 220 volt appliances consume less energy than 110 volt ones, but in order to use them in the US, you would need to convert them to 110 voltage. This is a less efficient use of energy. Plus, 220 volt appliances are a more risky because people can get seriously injured if they get shocked from them.

Can I use a 130 volts light bulb in a 120 volt line?

12-V a.c. is a root-mean-square value, which is exactlyequivalent to 12-V d.c., so the brightness of the lamp will be identical, regardless of whether it is connected to an a.c. or d.c. source.

How do you wire an electrical fuse box with an extension cord from a 110 outlet?

It is not safe or recommended to wire an electrical fuse box with an extension cord from a 110 outlet. Extension cords are not rated for permanent installation and can pose a fire hazard. Why does washing machine dance across floor in spin cycle even with a balanced load and level machine?

The washing machine may dance across the floor during the spin cycle even with a balanced load and level machine due to uneven distribution of clothes inside the drum. This can cause an imbalance during the high-speed spinning, leading to the machine vibrating excessively. Checking the movement of the machine's feet and ensuring they are properly stabilized can help reduce this issue.

Why does your Kenmore 70 Series washer not stop filling with water?

There is a clear hose attached to the water level control of the washer. The other end of the hose is attached underneath the washer. The hose isn't attached with any hose clamps so if the washer rocks from a uneven load it could come disconnected and on the next load the water fills up and never stops. Just disconnect the water and electric and the drain and turn the washer on its side look for the hose and reattach it to the hookup underneath-- I just fixed mine, I thought I was going to be buying a new washer but this one still works great now! Hope this helps- Jesse

How much will a 260 watt heater cost to run for 4 hours if power costs 20 cents a kw?

First, convert the heater's power usage to kilowatts: 260 watts = 0.26 kilowatts. Next, calculate the energy consumption: 0.26 kW * 4 hours = 1.04 kWh. Finally, multiply the energy consumption by the cost per kWh: 1.04 kWh * $0.20/kWh = $0.208. So, running a 260 watt heater for 4 hours would cost approximately 20.8 cents.

Could you save some money running your home on 90 volts?
