This is what worked for me: Manual Code Search and Entry 1. Manually turn on the TV

2. Press and hold the TV button The illuminated ON•OFF key turns on and remains on.

3. While holding the component key down, press and hold the ON•OFF key. The illuminated ON•OFF key turns off.

4. After holding down both keys for three seconds, the illuminated ON•OFF key turns back on.

5. Release both keys. The illuminated ON•OFF key remains on. TIP: Throughout the programming of each key, be sure to keep the remote pointed at the IR sensor of the component you are currently programming the remote to control.

6. Press and release the ON•OFF key repeatedly until your component turns off. Each time you press the ON•OFF key, the illuminated ON•OFF key blinks, and the next

code in the list is sent. This process continues until all of the codes in the Code Lists have been searched. If your component turns off, you have found the correct code.

TIP: Because there are so many codes, you may have to press the ON•OFF key many times-possibly up to 200 times.

7. Once you have found the correct code, you must save the new code by pressing and releasing the STOP key. The illuminated ON•OFF key turns off. You must press the STOP key to save the code or the correct code will not be stored!

8. To confirm that the component key is programmed with the correct code for maximum functionality, test the component. Attempt to control a variety of the component's functions with the remote. If some of the features of your components do not work, try programming the remote with a different code in the list until you find the code that allows the remote to control the majority of your component's functions. Different codes can provide different levels of functionality. Good Luck Jack

There is no agreed convention for speaker color coding. Most users and most manufacturers will take the striped core as the "+" side and the black or plain as the "-" side. It makes no difference to the connections how the cable is connected but in a system, make sure that all the amplifier terminals are connected to all the speakers with the same polarity. Almost all amplifier and speaker connectors that have red and black terminals will use red as the "+". Therefore, connect the red terminal to the red terminal and the black to the black. It makes no difference which core of the cable is used. If different speaker manufacturers are being used in a single system, it is possible that the wiring may be inverted on one type compared to another. Wiring a speaker with the polarity inverted will never damage the speaker but it does affect the sound quality when used with other speakers. Most of the better speaker manufacturers will state the polarity of the connectors in their manuals. Look for a statement like "A positive voltage on the red terminal will produce a forward movement of the speaker cone". If you are able to confirm this detail for all speakers, getting the polarity right is simple. Although speaker connectors are often referred to as positive and negative, the signal is AC and therefore the terms are not strictly correct. The terms work for the purposes of connecting speakers so there is no need to correct the terminology.

Before you proceed, disconnect everything and when you plug back in, make sure each electrical cord in connected to the same circuit in your home/site. If you are not sure, plug in to the same strip or wall socket.

Then proceed to connect these devices as you had before with that exception.

If it is not practical to keep the set up that works without the "hum", use a wireless connection between PC and STEREO, such as a FM transmitter (100-200 feet capacity)

The question presumes that plasma television technology is failure and that is far from the truth. Plasma televisions have been around since the early days of flat screen television and were in fact the only technology available to reach the 40" and larger screen sizes.

When they were launched, they could boast higher contrast and better color saturation than the LCD based competitive products. Yes, they will. One can connect anything to anything else. Will it work? If so, how well? Is it safe? If the four speakers are connected in series, the total impedance of the speakers will be the sum of all the impedances of the speakers: 5.5 + 5.5 + 5.5 + 5.5 = 22 ohms The 22 ohm load on the amplifier will be a bit higher than the amp has been designed for, but the setup will work. At modest power levels it is doubtful that anything audible will be noticeable because of that slight mismatch, and as long as one doesn't crank it up too high, the amp won't notice the difference. Manufactures claim that they specially formulate oils for use in the high temperature environment that exists within the shredder head unit. No doubt, this is true. However, if you've ever used electronic hair clippers, and accidently touched the interior metals parts shortly after use (while taking the unit apart to clean out hair debris), you know they're hot enough to burn skin on contact. While shredders and hair clippers differ in that shredders use rotating metal blades and hair clippers use blades that slide rapidly in opposite directions, both devices need lubrication because they both have interactive metal parts. If you buy a hair clipper set, the lubricant oil it comes with is mineral oil. Shredder oil sells for about $35 a pint, whereas mineral oil can be bought at any supermarket for about $1 per pint. I'm assuming that you're talking about a LCD projection TV.

Since it's a mercury vapor gas discharge lamp, it can't be tested with any type of continuity tester to see if the filament is burned out.

So let me ask you a couple of questions to help you make a determination.

1.) Does the "LAMP" light on the front of the set blink after the set's turned on? (Yes? Replace the lamp.)

2.) Does the TV come on and display a picture for a few minutes and then go out for a few before coming on again? (Yes? Replace the lamp.)

3.) Does the lamp not come on at all, but if you listen carefully, you hear three snapping sounds like high voltage arcing somewhere near the lamp's installation door? (Yes? Replace the lamp.)

4.) Are you able to remove the lamp and look at it? Is it shattered inside? (Yes? replace the lamp.)

5.) Are you able to remove the lamp and look at it? Does it have a rather large bulge at the base of the tube? (Yes? Replace the lamp.)

6.) Can you borrow a a lamp of the same type from a friend that has the same type of TV and it works OK? (Yes? Replace the lamp.)

Other reasons for a lamp not coming on:

1.) The lamp door switch isn't properly closed (safety switch) usually from removing the cover and not properly replacing it.

2.) The lamps' ballast unit has gone bad. (Especially if the door switch is properly in place and you don't hear the three clicking noises as it tries to ignite the lamp).

There's other possible causes, but in most cases it's either the lamp itself or the ballast.

If its white it should work

A replacement panel will cost more than the TV is worth. Time to get a new TV.

BNC is a type of connector for co-ax cables. It is commonly used in the broadcast industry although seen far less in domestic situations.

There are two ways that audio can be carried with a video signal over a single co-ax cable. The first is by using RF signals, as are used in terrestrial broadcasts and picked up by an antenna. Signals can be either digital or analog.

The alternative is a broadcast digital signal called SDI (serial digital interface). SDI carries digital component video, audio and other control data and represents the best quality video signals available.
