I bought my 2003 Element used so I didn't have the information. There was a sticker in the glove box that had the serial number of the radio and better yet the 5 digit reset code.

Make sure the radio is off, hold down the 1 and 6 preset buttons at the same time then turn on the radio. A series of numbers will show on the display for about 20 seconds (you can stop holding down the buttons at this point). This is your radio serial number.

Honda radios have a security feature which prevents their use if they are stolen.

This security feature is activated if the radio is disconnected from the battery (I.E. battery in car replaced).

There should be a security code in your owners manual. Enter the correct code, and the radio will work.

If you don't have the original owners manual, (or you can't find the information), you will have to go to a Honda dealer. They will have to verify ownership of the car/radio and can then look up the code.

Simply open the glove box the radio code is on a tab on the glove box door.

Set the emergency brake. Then put your finger in the front part of the plastic where the emergency brake arm is and lift up and forward and take out the plastic center console and you'll see the adjustment right behind the emergency brake 12mm nut. You can't miss it
