What is maximum dose of ibuprofen and acetaminophen when taken together?

Acetaminophen (Tylenol) passes though the liver, while Ibuprofen (Motrin) is passed through your kidneys. You can take your dosage (based on your weight ) for either medications at the same time safely.

As a PA in the pediatric ER we do tell parents that they can give their child BOTH Tylenol and Motrin to help fight a bad fever. We like to have them have some overlap time because then the fever is covered (Take Tylenol 1st and 2 hours later take Motrin). Most of the time we just suggest straight Motrin (more than Tylenol) because the overlap can be confusing and their is a higher risk of Tylenol overdose than with Motrin. Remember Asprin (Acetylsalicylic acid) is different than Motrin/Advil (Ibuprofen) and Tylenol (Acetaminphen) and should NOT be given to children because it can cause Reyes Syndrome.

What is the active ingredient in aspirin that gives the observed therapeutic properties?

The active ingredient in aspirin is acetyl salicylic acid. It was first discovered in willow bark by an Oxford scientist in 1763.

How can you stop taking lyrica safely?

You absolutely should NOT withdraw from Lyrica (pregabalin) "cold turkey" or all at once! To do so will probably send you into Withdrawal. If you are going to go off of Lyrica, do it GRADUALLY, carefully, under the close supervision of the prescribing physician.

DO NOT STOP TAKING LYRICA SUDDENLY. Lyrica DEFINITELY CAUSES INTENSE WITHDRAWAL SYMPTOMS. They can include: violent panic, sudden high blood-pressure, tachycardia (rapid heart rate), the shakes, sweating, chills, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, convulsive seizures, hallucinations, paranoid attacks, chest pains, intensely suicidal thoughts, complete sleep-deprivation, violent startle reactions, and pseudo-psychosis.

The longer you have been on it, the worse it will be. If you are going to go off of Lyrica, do it GRADUALLY, carefully, under the close supervision of the prescribing physician. Good Luck!

Is ibuprofen and Vicodin the same thing?

Yes you can take vicodin with flexeril. I recently hurt my neck and I was prescribed both of these. The only thing that I suggest is that if you are going to take them both at the same time, wait until the evening, because both will make you very drowsy. The first couple of nights of taking them, I woke up in the middle of the night and was pretty out of it mentally, but that wore off.

New Answer:

I was prescribed to take 1 Flexeril and 1-2 hydrocodone (vicodin) before bed. I was in an extreme amount of pain the first night so I took 1 and 2 respectfully. When I work up in the morning I felt great, until I sat up in bed. I was incredibly dizzy and drowsy. Somehow I made it to work, though I probably shouldn't have driven, but I felt like I was ready to pass out until about 3 in the afternoon. The hydrocodone has a much stronger effect, so I only took half a tab last night and today has been much better, and my pain is still controlled. I'm still a little drowsy as I'm taking the flexeril three times a day, but nothing like yesterday. Hope that helps.
Since these are both medications which need a Dr.s prescription, you should follow their instructions. However, Flexeril and Vicoden are often prescribed together. Flexeril is a muscle relaxant and Vicoden is a narcotic for pain.
Flexeril, if taken one half hour to one hour before consumption, will intensify the muscle relaxant, painkilling effects of hydrocodone. If you find that just hydrocodone (with or without tylenol) doesn't do enough for back spasms, the muscle relaxant in Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) will help tremendously. Be warned that Flexeril is also sometimes prescribed as a sleep-aid, so if you're going to be driving or doing anything that requires you to be alert, take half of what you would normally take (of both medicines) so you can gauge the effects on your coordination. Do NOT drink (period) on opiates, and especially not with Flexeril added into the mix. You may or may not fall asleep or nod off unexpectedly, may become physically ill or find an intense loss of coordination.
This combinatin of medications is often prescribed together; one being a muscle relaxant and the other a painkiller. Be careful not to exceed dosage.

What certain things makes people tired?

* I read once in a National Geographic article in Aug - Sep 2000 about the Olympics in Sydney and how athletes are trained for the big games, and it mentioned something about the amount of lactose in your blood and the capacity certain people have to brun it faster than other. It has to do with the relation of lactose/oxigen in your blood, but i am not sure about how it works. I've been looking for a related article in the internet but havent seen anything so far.

Several things can make people tired, but it does vary between individuals. The following are almost universal.

* Eating too many carbohydrates. * Large amounts of sugar. (As seen in the energy drink crash)

Is a Ibuprofen a organnic or inorganic?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_organic_compounds This is a link to a long list of "organic compounds" for all those who care if what they take is organic. I personally, care not, for if it works, it works. And yes, Ibuprofen is an organic compound. And some people get this confused with Aleive or Alieve, another NSAID, which it is NOT. Advil is the most common brand name Ibruprofen (it has a sugar coating to taste good). Adelaine J. Can you take aspirin while taking aciphex?

I am going to assume that you are taking Aciphex because of an ulcer. Biaxin is a generic antibiotic for Clarithromycin. Sometimes antibiotics are given in conjunction with ulcer medication. So yes you can take them both. Remember to follow your doctor's advice. Take all of the antibiotics as prescribed. People sometimes stop taking antibiotics because they feel better. Don't do this. Take them all as prescribed. The reason for prescribing an ulcer med with an antibiotic is because sometimes ulcer are caused by a bacterium. The ulcer med reduces stomach acid which will alleviate symptoms and the antibiotic will kill off the bacteria. So take them both as prescribed. If this does not help with your ulcer problem you might want to check with your doctor about a triple antibiotic therapy.
