hope this helps....well, this is tha way i did it...1st i washed my hands, got evrything i was gonna use as sterile as possible(which is reely hard to do in ur room)2nd i put ice on tha top part of my hand web for bout a min. 2 numb it. than, i got tha safety pin i was using(reely stupid idea by tha way, i suggest a reel piercing needle) and i juz started pushin it throu, it was hard 4 me, it juz wouldn't go throu but i eventually saw it pushin throu tha other side of my hand, and it finally went throu...than i kept it like that w/ tha safety pin for 30 min n took it out and attempted 2 push tha jewelry throu but it woudlnt go throu both holes....i tried for 20 min. and no matter how hard i pushed it wouldn't go throu tha other end...i had to give it up and i was so dissapointed : ( if u do decide 2 do it, use jewelry meant 4 that, like a barbel, but that's y u need a piercing needle, so tha jewelry will fit....hope that helped : ) AnswerPiercing a hand web is inherently dangerous anyway due to the risk of infection (think about all the non-sterile and even dirty things your hand touch daily) and the probability of rejection. I have only heard of a couple of people that have healed this piercing succesfully and they were very advanced at healing piercings, tattoos, subdermal implants, and even tongue bifurcations. If you are hell bent on this piercing the absolute best thing you could do is find someone locally willing to work with you. It's a super easy piercing to perform, but the risks aren't worth it and then you increase those risks ten-fold by attempting it on your own. If nobody in your area feels comfortable doing it (and many won't want to do it at all), then seek out the advice of those people who don't want to do it, ask them why and then ask them if you could go about it on your own, one of them may agree. If they do end up agreeing then you should be able to purchase sterile piercing needles, sterile clamps and sterile jewelry from them and they may also allow you the use of a clean room. If this doesn't happen don't be surprised, there are some things people just won't touch. In all there is just no safe way for you to go about this on your own unless you have an autoclave and all the tools at your home.
