How many video tracks do you have in a Imovie?
You can only have 2 video tracks in iMovie 08-11. There is only one video track in iMovie 06 and lower. Though, you can still apply effects like aged film without taking a video track.
How can you reinstall iMovie without the disk?
get a usb drive, copy it onto it un install it. Then, you use the usb drive to reinstall it.
This question gets asked several times a day, so I think I'll try to create a definitive "what to do" guide.
First, you need source material. Lots of people start with downloaded clips/fansubs. These will let you make something, but your finished video won't look very good. Rather, you should use DVD source for the best results. (There is an entire Guides section. Read ErMaC & AbsoluteDestiny's Friendly AMV Guides to learn how to work with your video streams. Don't ask here, as it's already all answered for you in the guide.)
Second, just pick an idea and run with it. Something sound good to you? try it. Work on it for hours or for days. Teach yourself how to do cool things with the software. Your video will most likely suck, but almost everyone's first videos suck. It may take you three or four tries to actually be able to make anything good, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't just throw together something that "sounds cool" - you need that experience in order to learn what to do (or what not to do). Don't worry about people not liking it, 'cause you don't even have to show it to anyone. Just don't post on the message boards that you're new and you want someone's help to start - dozens of such requests are made a week, and nobody's going to hold your hand and/or give you a good idea that you couldn't've easily come up with by yourself.
Third, don't ask stupid questions. Think things through, don't waste peoples' time asking things which could easily be answered by reading the manual/reading the guides/reading past message board posts/using common sense.
Fourth, don't ask people to give you software. Some programs are available for free; some are cheap; others are expen sive. Nobody here will give you pirated software, and many people here will flame you if you start to brag about how you used pirated software.
In case this hasn't already been mentioned....
What NOT to do if you want a good AMV:
Do NOT use a windows media format (usually .wmv or .asf)
Do NOT use Realplayer (usually something like .rm -rf /luser)
Some good video formats are:
DivX 3.11alpha
XviD
MPEG
And just for the hell of it I'll give QuickTime 6's new MPEG-4 a chance.
Some good audio formats:
(There isn't much choice here anyway)
MP3
OGG
In case you are lucky enough to have a clean computer, and you didn't install any codec packs or divx 4/5. Then there is good news, you can now watch those divx4/5 and xvid encoded videos without installing the codecs (YAY)
A good set of codecs, and the only ones you should need for that matter are:
DivX 3.11alpha - if you know how to encode this one stands above 4/5.
ffdshow - directshow filters which allow you to watch divx3, divx4, divx5, xvid, and mpeg4v3 (the Microsoft version).
Ogg Vorbis DirectShow Filter Collection - There are two, you'll need both.
Note: The Ogg filters are only needed if you are making and watching .ogm (ogg movies). Ogg movies using xvid for video and ogg audio for the audio.
Mac Users: I'm sure there is something out there that works....
Getting Sources:
If you have the DVDs, then rip them to either DivX 3.11alpha or XviD. My advice if you are new to ripping the source from the DVD is to use GordianKnot and encode to DivX 3.11alpha.
Downloads:
The codecs and filters are available on doom9.net/org in the download section. Obviously the filters will not be in the same place as the codecs and vise versa, and in order to see the ogg stuff you will need to click 'show me more' near filters.
The DVD backup and ripping utils are also there, along with the GordianKnot program and update. And the guides are there as well, hooah.[/u]

In Imovie HD, you can change the pitch of your voice by selecting audio fx, selecting pitch changer, and changing the slider to whatever selection you choose. However, if you have Imovie '09, the only way to change the pitch of your voice is to speed it up, or slow it down.
How do you data backup from tally ies 7.2?
Solutions to these problems needs common sense rather than tally expertise. Lets understand some feature and working of tally. Tally provides a backup and restore utility which collects all files of tally company into one file named tbk500.001. This way of tally backup is easier to restore as this one file can be kept save and easily can be restored instead of all files in that folder. If any of the file gets missing or gets corrupted tally data wouldn't work.
In first case when data gets corrupted while working on tally and we are unable to open the company then data can simply rewritten. Come to Company selection menu. Press "Ctrl + Alt + R". Now select the company for re writing. 90% chance is that you problem would be get solved.
In second case when OS system is not working then to recover data you need computer skills and some common sense solutions can get you out of this problem
If windows is not loading then you can try to boot the system in DOS mode. Copy all tally folders and data folders into D drive. If DOS mode is also not working then take out the HDD and connect it with other computer with OS system and try to open it. If the disk is ok and without bad sectors then you would be able to open the tally folder. If still it not working then before formatting give it a try with some recovery software or ask your computer hardware expert to recover data folders from drive.
The third case happens when people are running so many versions of tally and all versions work on different directories. More over they take backup by copying folders of data directory instead of taking backup from tally itself. In that case you too can get confused which one is latest and which folder is needed to be restored. In this case just remember the No. of your company in tally. For example if your company No. is 006 then go to search utility of windows and enter 006 in search box and begin search. You would see the list of folders. Now in see the locations of each folder and see the date of last modified or accessed. Choose the latest one and copy that folder in tally's current data directory. You would probably find the right one. One more method can be that you look for folder which has largest amount of data. Just go to each folder right click on the name and select properties. Here you would find the total file size of that folder. The biggest folder would be the current folder.
The fourth case happens you have created somany companies and when you restore the data that current company is not in your older data. This can also happen when data backup you have taken is already corrupted. In this case there is no solutions except you find some other backup which you have taken fortunately and which is good as well. To do some once again you can use search utility and look out for files names as tbk500.001 or what you can do is just type tbk*.*. It would get you all the files on your computer.
The letters AMV stand for anime music video, a fan-made video consisting of clips from animation shows or movies set to an audio backing track, often used as promotional material for either the video or the song, and not necessarily contained in the anime clip.
The first recognized AMV was of the American animated series Star Blazers set to the Beatles' song "All You Need is Love".

There is another program called "Final Cut Pro" However it can be very hard to work with. I don't generally have much experience with Final Cut Pro, but it is another movie editing program for a Mac.

Are sony minidv cameras compatible with imovie mac?
Hello everyone, I just have to tell the SONY fans that their MiniDV camcorders are compatible with the MAC Imovie. I have always loved the SONY Carl Zeiss lens, it is one of the best out there and it really makes a difference, Sony also has the legendary Nightshot option, which now other camcorder can match.
I wanted to share this information because I could not find any information about the
Compatibility of Sony camcorders with Imovie. I had to go to Circuitcity with my MacBook Pro and ask someone if they could let me try the Handycam DCR-HC52 to see if it was compatible, and the results obviously were positive. I am finally a happy guy!

How do you reopen a past project on iMovie and edit it again?

In imovie the built in mic sucks how can you record with your own mic?
You will need to use your own digital voice recorder and then import the audio into the computer to put into iMovie.
If you have a USB microphone you can plug that in to use. If the microphone has a jack plug you will need an adapter to connect the mic to a USB socket.
The built in mic is not too bad it can be adjusted in the Input section of Sound in System Preferences.
You are making a short movie for class using imovie what are some good movie ideas?
You could make a biographical film about your life (or about say, one of your parents or grandparents) and interview your family and oldest friends.
iMovie requires Quartz Extreme to render video and effects. Various problems may occur depending on which version of Mac OS X and iMovie is being used on which Mac model.
A common problem is that the number of colours available to Quartz Extreme has been set to some figure less than Millions (often by a game that has not restored the original setting). This can be corrected in the Displays section of System Preferences by changing the settings and then restoring the original settings and then restarting the computer.
How do you get a squeaky voice on imovie?
In Imovie HD, you can get the "squeaky voice" by going into audio fx, selecting pitch changer, and changing the slider around "chipmunk". However, if you have the Imovie '08/'09, the only thing you can do is speed up the video.
How do you convert rcproject videos to mov videos?
A .rcproject file contains details of an editing project from iMovie. It contains pointers to the original videos. To reestablish the connection to the video file the .rcproject should be put into the iMovie Projects folder within the Movies folder. When iMovie is launched the videos from the project will be available for exporting as a playable movie file.
