Wherever you use computers you need Information Technology. Without IT the computers are nothing but big pieces of junk which is of no use to anybody.

The IT industry creates the so called tools, applications, websites etc that we use in our day to day life in the financial industry.

Without them we would have to think of ways of trade used a few decades ago. like Barter System or face to face settlement & trading etc.

Group Policy settings are processed in the following order:

1:- Local Group Policy object-each computer has exactly one Group Policy object that is stored locally. This processes for both computer and user Group Policy processing.

2:- Site-Any GPOs that have been linked to the site that the computer belongs to are processed next. Processing is in the order that is specified by the administrator, on the Linked Group Policy Objects tab for the site in Group Policy Management Console (GPMC). The GPO with the lowest link order is processed last, and therefore has the highest precedence.

3:- Domain-processing of multiple domain-linked GPOs is in the order specified by the administrator, on the Linked Group Policy Objects tab for the domain in GPMC. The GPO with the lowest link order is processed last, and therefore has the highest precedence.

4:- Organizational units-GPOs that are linked to the organizational unit that is highest in the Active Directory hierarchy are processed first, then GPOs that are linked to its child organizational unit, and so on. Finally, the GPOs that are linked to the organizational unit that contains the user or computer are processed.

At the level of each organizational unit in the Active Directory hierarchy, one, many, or no GPOs can be linked. If several GPOs are linked to an organizational unit, their processing is in the order that is specified by the administrator, on the Linked Group Policy Objects tab for the organizational unit in GPMC. The GPO with the lowest link order is processed last, and therefore has the highest precedence.

This order means that the local GPO is processed first, and GPOs that are linked to the organizational unit of which the computer or user is a direct member are processed last, which overwrites settings in the earlier GPOs if there are conflicts. (If there are no conflicts, then the earlier and later settings are merely aggregated.)

I don't know how detailed you need the answer so I can give you a fairly brief one. A disadvantage from my personal perspective in this line of work is that IT provides mass collaboration with customers/partners/businesses in a real time setting allowing the passage of funds/transactions instantly. With such fast communication it is hard to verify if said transactions are real or said customers/partners/businesses are real until after losses have incurred or a strong relationship has been built. We no longer have to look customers in the face in order to transact. You only need a computer. Therefore there is always the risk of false identity and stolen accounts. The last disadvantage is that banks rely and partner up with other banks especially in the international markets. You are trusting that their Compliance is up to snuff as well as their security because depending on how the relationship is layered a simple database breach could level the bank(s). Since there are currently no uniform national certifications and a very high discrepancy between educational levels of people with the title of "IT" it is not a profession.

Additionally, in order to truly be considered a profession it is typically accepted that you must be licensed by the state you work in, in addition to your national certification.

i.e. MD's must pass the board exam administered by the AMA and they must be licensed by the state in which they practice.

Other factors of importance include that the intended profession set forth a code of ethics that would describe the rights and responsibilities of practitioners.

Finally, in order to be a profession you must possess a body of knowledge that is protected by those that are in the field. This protection is usually accomplished through licensure. Anybody could theoretically learn the body of knowledge that comprises the IT field and practice it, therefore there is no protection.

State or Federal licensing may be incidental to certain professions but is not a uniform or steadfast requirement. A case in point is the Project Management Professional. Individuals who become certified by the governing body, the Project Management Institute (PMI) are professionals in that they have demonstrated, by practice and passing a certification exam, that they have mastered the standardized Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) making them certified practitioners. However, no state or federal entity is involved in the licensing of these professionals.

At a formal meeting, generally it is a senior executive who presides over the affair. Informal meetings are generally not planned well in advance. The members are not notified through formal means. They generally take place in neutral surroundings, for example in a restaurant rather than a boardroom.

The creation of one interdependent system helps us to share information and end linguistic barriers across the continents. The collapse of geographic boundaries has made the world a whole. The technology has not only made communication cheaper, but also possible much quicker and 24x7, it has also help spark growth through out many industries. All of this can make or break a struggling company.
