Well to start off I got elected as sport captain in year 5 for year 6 so I can help you with this one. You need to say your virtues,if you have any brothers and sister(younger) tell them that.also you have to get to know the people who will be electing you.

well you can make a cool slogan like: VOTE FOR ME... IT JUST MAKES SENSE, or you can say:... YOU CAN COUNT ON ME ....... or you can just tell them, if you vote for me, I will make a diference. I will work my best, and always be trustworthy.

1. before the day of: rehearse as many ways as possible. sing your speech, try reading it backwards, etc. this will help you realize how many OTHER ways you could sound silly. and you're not doing those things, you're simply talking. no big deal.

2. dance or shake your body rigorously before you go onstage or in front of the group. here's why, when you scramble your body, your mind will purposefully try to correct by reading in a straightforward manner. this will reduce your chances of skipping words because all the energy to rush is gone.

3. listen to a song that makes you feel on top of the world before going in. this will help give you the appearance that you are UBER confident and no one will think you are nervous. just don't be afraid to seem overly cocky, you DO know the information. act it.

4. whatever you do, DON'T read it a hundred times before you give the speech. this will snuff out the element of sincerity to your story (in my case, making valedictorian). it is wise to rehearse before you go onstage but more than 3 times or so is unnecessary overkill.

5. get a massage the day before. this will release endorphins in your brain which will give you positive feelings. you will be more sure of yourself that you can appear "cool, calm and collected" in front of a crowd of people. also, keep getting massages regularly for stress management purposes even after your speech. I'm almost a LMT! trust me...

There are many MC welcoming speech sample scripts on the internet. However, one should come up with a script that is original and focuses on the parties that are present and relevant to the occasion.

Make it sound very persuasive. You need to make it seem like you are perfect for the job and have very formal. Practice it over again and again until you have perfect. Emphasize with italics at some parts, so if you're reading it aloud you can say it like that, and, if someone is reading it, they will know you're putting your voice in it...

Talk about issues concerning your school. Actual issues. Say why it is important to you and how you can make things better and jazz it all up. Find out from classmates what they really think the issues is. The point is to get people to listen to YOU and YOU only. You've got to be the center of attention when you're talking. Don't just read from the paper. Eye contact with many of who you're reading it to. It shows your dedicated and willing to go far.

Tell your strengths. "I'd be good as Vice President of Student Council because...(example) I'm a great leader, I have really great characteristics for it. I listen to the issues that my peers think should be brought up to the school. I want to make a difference so that I can make school a more enjoyable place."

Don't put ANYTHING down or bad about you in your speech. AT ALL. If you had something like "I'm a good worker but I tend not to listen well" then, I'm sorry, but you are out. Instead, say "I'm a good worker." It shows up a lot better.

Now, I know you asked for a main topic, so find out what the issues are in your school that are important to your peers AND some teachers. Once you have that, you can go straight from there. If you are really desperate and in need for a topic, write about this: "How I can make our school a better place and more enjoyable for everyone." Just go from there, and good luck.
