It depends on your iPod. You can check the capacity of your iPod by plugging in your iPod and opening up iTunes. Then, once your iPod has synced, you can click on your iPod under the devices tab on the left. Near the picture of your iPod it will say the capacity (software is already subtracted from the overall total, so you don't have to worry about that). You can check how much space your iPod has left by looking at the colorful bar at the bottom. That part is very self-explanatory and is labeled below it.

your iPod probably has a lock with a circle on the top bar next to the battery icon (if it is jailbroken or is an iPod 4g). If so, double click the home button and scroll to the music dock and press the button on the left. (screen rotation lock)

On an iPhone, go to settings, and click the Reset tab under the General tab.

Then chose the one you want.

If you want to delete all apps, click "Reset All Content and Settings."

Or you could put your finger on an app, hold it, and go through the tedious process of deleting all your apps by pressing the "x" button when they are shaking and clicking "OK" when the confirm box appears.

Not exactly. Like all hard drives, you've just deleted the "pointer" to the data on the drive. The data still exists until it is overwritten.

Try turning it off, and if that doesn't work connect it to iTunes and reset it if ur willing to go that far. That's what I had to do.

yes. the ipod touch 2nd and 3rd generations are the same size so any case will fit both.
