Is 121 good enough on an IQ test to get into MENSA?
This question can not be answered. The answer depends on the test taken. The requirement is a score in the top 2% of the general population. This can mean 130 on test A, 132 on test B or 140 on test C. If you check with the Mensa office in your country and know which test you did, you can get the answer.
Another opinion:
What is said above is true. Where I live, you need 131+ IQ according to the Wechsler scale to get into Mensa. I do not know whether this applies internationally.
What is the average IQ for a 29 year old man?
100 (the average IQ is 100 by definition). However, there are different average IQs determined by region of the world. In all actuality, the average IQ of a person from the U.S. and from European countries is ~98. The average of East Asian people is ~104. The average in the African countries is, unfortunately ~70. Finally, I found that the average IQ in the Middle East is ~86.

The average IQ of everyone is 100.

Highbrow culture refers to intellectual culture. For example, those interested in highbrow culture might go to the opera or to the orchestra.
The slang term comes from the psuedo-science of phrenology, where the size and shape of the head supposedly defined the talents and capabilities of the individual. Those with a "high brow" or high forehead supposedly had greater cerebral size, compared to "lowbrows."
Why do geniuses have terrible handwriting?
They have far more important things to focus on than handwriting. It's more like they don't care to be more presentable to the lesser mortals.
Very very very true.
They're introverts!
Alternative answer approach: What data might you have to suggest that geniuses have terrible handwriting? This technique of asking a question assuming that the topic of the question is a fact with no supporting documentation is a common method of propaganda.
Sadly for the country, the recent (2010) elections was fraught with such techniques.
Where can you find free medical billing test?
Where can I downloead a free medical billing questions in preparation for a test?
All IQs are good to the extent that they are accurate measures of learning potential (and opinions on this question differ strongly).
But what constitutes a high IQ depends on the test; top scores vary.
What was Albert Einstein's IQ?
Albert Einstein's IQ was above average, in the 120-160 range, but no one knows for sure.
The estimated IQ of Albert Einstein is 160. An IQ of 160 places him well within the parameters of being a genius.
A fair test is the goal of many an enquiry. A test should not be biassed by the selection of subject, by the test method itself, nor by the method of analysis.
Is 105 a good IQ score for a 13-year-old girl?
Well, the average IQ for an adult would be about 100, so, an 1Q of 105 would represent a somewhat bright person, in my opinion. For a 13 year old girl, an IQ of 105 is actually great and has a high probability of increasing during years of later development.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry, but I don't agree with that.
The IQ test for an 13-year-old differs from the grown-up version. In this way, it's designed to give you a representation of your intelligence, whatever age you have. Like most things, having an high IQ can means you also have an higher chance to have autism.
In you case your IQ score means "above average" since 100 is the designed average, no matter the age. Of course this only works if you did the test for your age group, other wise you may get low results (40-80). If you did the wrong version, I'd sugest you'll do the test over.
NOTE: Your IQ score may in later years drop or rise by 15 IQ-points
Is 106 a good IQ for a thirteen year old female?
It's pretty much normal (just over the average, which is, of course, 100).
Make sure that you take your age into consideration when you calculate your score (unless it's online -- there you must take care to put in the right age).
What are standard IQ scale rates?
First of all, the concept of IQ was developed by either the German psychologist and philosopher Wilhelm Stern in 1912, or by Lewis Terman in 1916, depending on which sources you consult. Intelligence testing was first done on a large scale before either of these dates. In 1904 psychologist Alfred Binet was commissioned by the French government to create a testing system to differentiate intellectually normal children from those who were inferior.
Thus the IQ scale called the "Binet Scale," (and later the "Simon-Binet Scale") was developed. Sometime later, "intelligence quotient," or "IQ," entered our vocabulary. Lewis M. Terman revised the Simon-Binet IQ Scale, and in 1916 published the Stanford Revision of the Binet-Simon Scale of Intelligence (also known as the Stanford-Binet). The following scale resulted for classifying IQ scores:
IQ ScaleOver 140 - Genius or almost genius
120 - 140 - Very superior intelligence
110 - 119 - Superior intelligence
90 - 109 - Average or normal intelligence
80 - 89 - Dullness
70 - 79 - Borderline deficiency in intelligence
Under 70 - Feeble-mindedness
Normal Distribution of IQ Scores50% of IQ scores fall between 90 and 110
70% of IQ scores fall between 85 and 115
95% of IQ scores fall between 70 and 130
99.5% of IQ scores fall between 60 and 140
Low IQ & Mental RetardationAn IQ under 70 is considered as "mental retardation" or limited mental ability. 5% of the population falls below 70 on IQ tests. The severity of the mental retardation is commonly broken into 4 levels:50-70 - Mild mental retardation (85%)
35-50 - Moderate mental retardation (10%)
20-35 - Severe mental retardation (4%)
IQ < 20 - Profound mental retardation (1%)
High IQ & Genius IQGenius or near-genius IQ is considered to start around 140 to 145. Less than 1/4 of 1 percent fall into this category. Here are some common designations on the IQ scale:115-124 - Above average
125-134 - Gifted
135-144 - Very gifted
145-164 - Genius
165-179 - High genius
180-200 - Highest genius
The Average On An IQ ScaleThe scoring of an IQ test is not the same for everyone, because age is used in determining a score. Intelligence quotient is determined by the "intelligence age" (I A) in relation to the chronological age of the person being tested. IQ scales can differ from each other (Americans use scales with IQ values above 200), but the mean value of most scales is an IQ of 100. This represents normal intelligence.
Think you are smart? Well, if your IQ is 130, that puts you ahead of 98% of people, but recent research shows that a person's level of self-discipline has nearly as much to do with success as their IQ level. In other words, your IQ score is not the only requirement for success.
There are eight different meanings,
Mensa is from Latin, it means table.
other meanings can be found on the link below
As a point of clarification/expansion:
With regard to the Mensa organization, it is based on the "table" definition and the intent was to describe the "round table"-type inclusiveness of the organization where any person is welcome, regardless of race, sex, creed, etc. The only requirement being that a person is in the top 2% of the population in intelligence.
What are the signs of a genius?
Extraordinay ability or talent. Uses logic. And, frequently, arrogance or disdain towards others.
The previous statement is not only untrue, but unfair as well. I myself have an intelligence well above genius level and I am not arrogant nor disdainful towards others. I value others input and answers because I know that just because my IQ is high, doesn't mean I know everything. I may miss something that others see because we each have a different way of looking at things.
As for signs of genius? It depends on the age. For me, my school was never challenging, the teachers began giving me college grade work because I would finish the entire years work in a week.
Some individuals of genius level notice that they have a rather extensive vocabulary, a picture perfect (or nearly) memory. Some are also more creative than others (it all depends on the type).
If you believe that you or some one you know are a type of genius, the only sure way of finding out is to be tested. If it is a child, I recommend speaking to a guidance counselor at his/her school.
Geniuses tend to be emotionally distant, but very sensitive. Their humility comes from proper awareness, and oftentimes others' lack of ability to understand them.
The extra brain power is also thought to cause the quirky behavior often shown. Geniuses are not concerned about looks, and often will wear odd clothing, or clothing in an odd manner (Einstein only buttoned the top button of his topcoats).
Uniqueness. Originality. Unpredictability. Individuality. Objectivity. Practicality. Hard work. Incredible concentration/focus. Cautiousness. Awareness. Obstinacy. Childlike simplicity in appearance. Extra terrestrial complexity in attitude. Weirdness.
Is 127 a good IQ score for an 11-year-old girl.?
Around about 100 is average, so 127 is good. He or she should easily get to university if the work is put in.
Yes, your innate smartness is something you are borne with. However, an education is needed to bring out this intelligence.
Well, it depends on your age, but if you're an adult, that isn't very good at all.
An Intelligence Quotient or IQ is a measure of an individual's intelligence, derived from a test that relies heavily on logical thinking, which may also include other elements in certain variations (such as simple philosophy). Simply, the IQ score is a quotient of an individual's mental age. The vladity of the IQ test is often questioned because of it's failure to account adequately for minds that think abstractly, as well as for it's reliance on time-keeping as a measure to test the individual's intelligence.
