Around $100-$200, depending on the exact model, and whether it has damascus steel marrels. AMERICAN GUN CO. firearms were manufactured by Crescent Firearms Co. and distributed by H. & D. Folsom Co. Crescent produced moderate cost guns under nearly 100 different brand names. A brief history of Crescent-
CRESCENT FIRE ARMS CO. & CRESCENT-DAVIS ARMS CO. Previous manufacturers and trademarks manufactured circa 1888-1931 in Norwich, CT.
In 1888, George W. Cilley bought out the defunct Bacon Arms Co. of Norwich, CT. He then formed an alliance with Frank Foster, and borrowed enough money to form the Crescent Fire Arms Company. Cilley and Foster each held several firearms patents, and both were highly qualified in firearms design and manufacture. Production began with single shot tip-up shotguns that had an external side hammer. Double barrel shotgun production was started in 1891. In 1893, they began making bicycle chains, and that same year, H&D Folsom took over the company's financial control. Early in the 1890s, Crescent built a rifle that resembled the Remington No. 4. A very rare Crescent was the .410 bore shotgun pistol, which was introduced in the 1920s. In 1929, N.R. Davis Firearms Co., then owned by Warner Arms Corp., merged with Cresent to become Crescent-Davis Arms Co. Because of financial crisis, business continued to decline, and they were forced to sell out. Savage Arms Co. acquired Davis-Cresent in 1931, assembled guns from the remaining parts, and these guns were sold under the Crescent name only.

What is the age of an Ithaca M-49 serial 490502048?
The Model 49 was made in the by Ithaca. The follow-up Model 72 was made in Germany by Erma Werke and then the wood was put on by Ithaca. The Model 72 is a much better made rifle than the alloy cast Model 49 was. The gunsmith you mention is Les Hovencamp, just google Diamond Gunsmithing and you will reach his website. He does not list the serial numbers for the Model 49's or 72's though. Walt Snyder who wrote the 2 books on Ithaca guns was working on a 3rd book addressing the serial numbers for those models and also the Model 66 single shot shotgun among others, but to date that hasn't been completed. What is the value of an Ithaca model 37 12 GA pump model number 317300171?
Without knowing the condition and grade it is hard to give someone a value, it could be from a $100 to $400. That serial number is wrong did you mean 371300171 if yes that means the gun was made in 1972.
It depends on the version and condition. They range from about $800 to $1500. The most valuable seems to be the 20ga. S/S (Single/selective trigger) version. Chokes also make a difference most want the mod/improved for hunting but the skeet is great for grouse/quail and of course skeet shooting.

Can you find info about the Fox Sterling worth 12 ga double barrel shotgun serial number 53211?
All the serial lists I have on the 12ga Sterlingworth have the numbers starting at 53800 in 1910. Can you verify that number? sales@countrygunsmith.net
How do you find the value of a Fox Sterlingworth shotgun?
Several factors involved here. First, is it an AH Fox gun (Philadelphia) or a Savage-Fox gun? If it is a Phila gun, is it a 'hinge pin' gun? What gauge, barrel length, chokes? Is it in original condition or has it been refinished or modified? Most importantly, we need to know what percentage of original case colors are left, what percentage of original blue, what percentage of original finish on the wood? Without knowing this, we can only give you a range of $300-$3000. Feel free to email digital pictures and we can be more precise. sales@countrygunsmith.net
