Locate and press the tab or button where the wiper blade is inserted into the hook of the wiper arm and pull wiper blade out of hook. You may have to rotate and flex the blade to make enough clearance for the hook to pass through.

Open the key fob and see what battery it contains.

On the 4.0 v8 the valve is on the compressor itself, you need to crawl under. on the v6 the valve is on the low pressure hose also under the vehicle, look toward the center of the car while kneeling at the left front wheel looking just behind the wheel next to a chassis tie down.

Actually, on the X-Type 2002, the engine is on the left (as you face the front of the vehicle) and the transmission is on the right. Therefore, it only stands to reason that the compressor is also on the left.

I finally found the low pressure fitting; it is on the low pressure (large) line near the firewall. It is on a small sideline from the larger supply line going to the compressor. It is hidden under a wiring cable harness.

I have a 2003 X-Type 2.5. If its like mine, the location of the sensor is behing the caliper. It looks like plug and it is screwed on with a torx screw. To get a good view of it, you have to remove the wheel and caliper to see it. You can follow the abs cable to see where it is plugged in. On my 2003 X-Type, the abs computer is under the back seat bench. To remove the back seat bench, you need to pop two latches with a flat head screw driver. The latches are located on the front of the bench. If you try to pull the bench out, you can feel where it is held down. You can also go to a Jaguar part department at the dealership and ask them to print you out the location of the rear wheel sensor (another word used for abs) and rear bench so that you can see what i am talking about.

When charging your Jaguar X-type air conditioning unit you will need R-135a Freon with oil added in. There are 2 ports on the air conditioning unit, one big and one small. Make sure that the car is running and the air conditioner is on full blast, then hook the Freon refill rig onto the port that it fits to recharge the system.

does jaguar x-type 3.0 have a timing chain or belt. and at what milage does it need to be changed.

i have the manual for the x type, it says firing order is 1,4,2,5,3,6 cylinder 1 is located (if you stand in front of car) lefthand side at the back, cylinders number 123 at back and 456 from left to right at front,, I had a bad misfire in a 2002 X Type 3.0 and the parts guy at Advanced read the OBC codes and said it was cylinder #2. I replaced the $35 distributorless ignition coil and the car now runs great. However, the above information was not true for this car. The Jaguar Electrical Manual on page 49 has the cylinder numbers located (if you stand in front of car) lefthand side at the back, cylinders number 135 at back and 246 from left to right at front.

Most people go to the dealer to get this repair done. To save money, a lot of people purchase the lamps and take them to a local non-dealer service shop with lower rates and have it done that way. See sources and related links below for lamp information.

If you get this with engine fault as well it can be due to low engine temp, mine was caused by a dodgy thermostat. You may also find that the engine switches to limp mode and will misfire under acceleration.

The brake light bulb on a Jaguar X-Type is replaced by opening the trunk and unscrewing the rear cover. The wiring harness can then be disconnected, the bulb removed, and a new bulb put in its place.

You can use your ignition key to unlock the boot. Depending on which X-type you own, the lock will be in different locations. But generally, it's located above or to the right of the license plate.

# Split the transmitter from the key using a small screwdriver in the small hole on the back. You will see a couple of reliefs on the transmitter where you can split the cover. # Step 2 Use a very small screwdriver to remove the screw that holds the circuit board to the casing. You will see that the battery is underneath. # Step 3 Remove the old battery and replace it with a new one. Reverse the steps above to put the key fob back together.
