Jaguar X Type

1. My wife has a 2000 S type with the factory phone option. It is a Motorola P8767 with service from Verizon. It is a digital phone but will only work with Verizon. I have been trying to find a phone compatible with Cingular service.

It means that the car beieves that the boot/trunk is open. Either the switch is broken or the latch hasn't closed properly.

take old ones out put new ones in

I hate to answer a question with a question but why do you need to check it as it is a sealed unit and as per Jaguar does not need to be checked so they say.......

Having said that there is a Allen head screw on the right side about 3inches above drain plug. Take it off and see if fluid comes out if not add until it runs out and put Allen screw back in. No there is not a dip stick. To add fluid there is a rubber plug or Allen screw on top of tranny behind battery box. You will need a long funnel.

Remove oil filler cap, remove plastic cover (3 screws), remove air filter, remove coil packs, spark plugs can then be replaced. don't forget the three in the rear bank!

I am assuming that you have a vehicle which is not a 3.0 litre. The badge that you are looking for only came with a 3.0/4.0/4.2 printed on it. However, one avenue to check is the bonnet badge for XJS models. The badge for the XJS came with a black finish available (part#BAC3838) and it is available for about $70.00 or so. I would recomend trying that, it will not have the exact same attaching setup, but should be do-able. this is the silver version.

Just pull and twist til it comes out. Force the new one in.

Remove three Torx head screws from the bottom steering column cover. The cover pieces (top and bottom) are held together with plastic clips internal to the column halves. Simply pull and wiggle them apart and remove from the column. Unplug the wiring harness by depressing the lock tab at the top of the harness and wiggling the plug loose. At the top of the switch there is a plastic tang that needs to be pushed away from the column, then simply slide the switch up and off the column. Reverse the above directions to install the new unit.

I had the same problem, and had luck with the following process.

first I tried taking a smaller socket and beating it onto the remaining section of the lug nuts and using an impact gun to try and remove it. (had 2 successful lug nut removals this way)

If that didnt work, I used a small drill bit and started drilling pilot holes into each lug nut, being careful not to foul the threads on the lug stud or to drill all the way through into the wheel. Then after the pilot holes were done, i used a larger bit to create a larger hole for the head of a punch to fit into. Using a hammer and punch, I tried forcing the nuts to spin off by angling the punch to make them spin counter clockwise if they were going to move at all! (had about 5 removed this way)

If you still don't have them off, then try continuing with the drilling, make your larger drill bit cut deep into the lug nuts, and again try not to foul up your threads on the studs! When they are almost all the way through, stop and use a cold steel chisel to try and split the lug nut. This may take several times until you weeken the lug nut enough to "peel" it away from the stud without damaging anything.

If you damage a stud in this process, you are either going to replace the stud, or clean it up with a tap and die set if its only slightly damaged.

i have a jag x type and my sidelight bulb has blown....in looking space is limited...but has the light array a cover over it and does this unscrew..or just pull off to gain access to the bulb

Hi. My jag does the same. In my case it is coming from the reverse sensor control unit, in the boot, telling me there is a problem. At first it only did it when i selected reverse, but now does it as soon as I put ignition on.

I havn`t got around tofixing it yet, probably gonna be expensive!

Your O2 sensors have detected too much oxygen in the exhaust, clean the MAF sensor, a dirty one is the most probable cause. If you are using an aftermarket ( oiled ) air filter too much oil will foul the sensor.

I can do the rear door panels. Under the door handle, In the middle of the door is a round cover, prise this off and underneath is a screw, remove this. Then look to the bottom edge of the trim panel, near the front, another screw to remove. The panel is now just on with clips. I didn't do this - but it might help at this stage to pull off the inner window felt that runs along the top of the door frame. Pull it straight up (unless it is covered by the panel itself - sorry I haven't checked this! If you can get it off, that will give you more purchase on the top of the door panel. Start at the top front edge and pull straight out away from the door, work your way around the bottom, there are about 7 pretty strong plastic clips going into the door frame. A large flat bladed screwdriver might help control the pressure and avoid snapping the plastic clips. Some of these will probably break and remain in the door! When you get to the top you need to unclip the locking mechanism wire from the door handle - followed by the wires to the speaker (simple clip) and the wires to the window motor - this needs a little tweak with a screwdriver to unclip it but comes off really easily then. - That's it - the grey foam lining underneath is a different matter - it will rip to shreds when you try to remove it. PS - the window winder mechanism comes out after you have released the glass - look at the bottom edge of the glass, there is a hole in it through which a plastic ferrule is inserted - with the window half way down this will line up with a hole in the door, through which a small screwdriver will push the small middle peg out of the plastic ferrule, then you can remove the ferrule from the glass and lift the glass free. Undoing the 3 torx screws will free the winder motor mechanism which has to be twisted to the right (on the offside door - RHS) to remove from the frame. Hope this helps

First take positive wire from battery- take AC compressor gas out -remove motor cover-remove air intake duct system-remove positive wire screw from alternator- remove second screw from alternator same place as positive screw was- remove AC dryer hose from compressor for space -disconnect AC compressor plug -remove AC compressor-remove alternator =D then assemble everything the way was taking out dont forget to test wiring and making sure alternator is working 100% percent before installation and last thing is to put gas free-on and test AC =D - BRIGHT MINDS AUTO ELECTRIC BRONX NYC

The emergency fuel shut off is located in the driver footwell (UK car) on the right hand side in a cut out int he plastic trim. On top of this there is a rubber coated switch whixh you can press. If the shut off has activated you will hear and feel a small click when this is pressed.

Jaguar X-Type was created in 2001.

I think its behind the pull out compartment under the dash below the light switch-its black 16 pole plug.

2.5 v6 2002 x-type

are you sure that it is all the way into "park" or it could be the clutchsafety switch if it is a standard transmission.

First remove the bumper under tray, then remove the front of both front inner wheel liners. Then there is one 10mm bolt on both lh and rh sides behind the bumper above both front merker lights. Then remove the two 10mm bolts above both headlamp assemblies, and don't forget to remove the bumper slowly so that you can disconnect the bumper harness.

Possibly one of the outlets is broken therefore leaking all over your engine.
