it can if you don't know what your doing but if you want to jailbreak your ipod and not mess it up, i learn it from this guy on you-tube just type "how to jailbreak your ipod touch" and hopefully it the first one and the one I'm thinking of
To a certain extent, yes. But really jailbreaking your iDevice is just modding it. Unless you are the developer you didn't really hack, you simply used the hack that someone made. But you're manipulating software to do what it was not intended to do. So it matters what you believe hacking is.
Yes, "the courts have long recognized that copying software while reverse engineering is a fair use when done for purposes of fostering interoperability with independently created software."
http://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2009/02/apple-says-jailbreaking-illegal
Jailbreaking does not load a torrent app or allow installation of pirated apps. Those services are a separate and illegal venture that are commonly linked with jailbreaking, thus giving jailbreak a bad name.
jailbreaking in reference to Apple iDevices refers to the installing of softwares foreign of Apple Certificates that allow for installation of 3rd party packages and softwares with no limitations or barriers. So it allows you to install apps made by developers that may or may not be found on the Apple App Store in theory.
You know, I don't think you can. There just isn't a need for it, you can just download torrents if you want to get things for free so jailbreaking would be pointless on a laptop/pc it just isn't the same as the need to jailbreak an iPod/iPhone/iPad or PS3, Xbox 360 or Wii.
well jailbreaking tools like sn0wbreeze gives you the oppurtunity to activate iphone but since if you want to jailbreak on ios 4.0.1 using jailbreakme then follow these steps you will need a phone book sim
put the phone book sim in the iphone, plug into the computer open up itunes and there done
According to Apple, jailbreaking your iPhone could cause it to not work properly. They say the phone could become unstable and stop working. Of course if you do it wrong, you run the risk of destroying the phone. Of course Apple doesn't want you to jailbreak the iPhone, but still, you take your chances.
If you jailbreak your iPhone and aren't happy with the results, you can plug it in to iTunes and restore the original settings. This will return the iPhone to its non-jailbroken state.
Perhaps the biggest issue is if you do jailbreak and then unlock your iPhone, it will most likely void the warranty. If that happens, they will not pay for any future repairs for the phone. You can get a little more information on this topic here.
Yes you can, the software has already been jailbroken by developers not even 24 hours after it was released to them. Once the phone comes out, you should be able to jailbreak it yourself using their software relatively quickly.
Your answer: no (tentative) meaning no UNLESS you screw something up, really bad, so if you can do it without getting any serious errors then you should be fine, but any SERIOUS errors (not like they happen often unless you have no idea what you're doing) and you'll have to do a full restore from iTunes, which WILL erase all of your apps, settings, etc.
SO your answer (in short form) is this:
No, unless you're really really stupid.
Take full control of your iPhone, iTouch or iPad: get access to unlimited themes and third-party application you wouldn't ever find in the App store, do Facetime calls through 3G connection, enable multitasking and video recording if you have an older iPhone model, unlock your iPhone and use any SIM carrier you want.
Hey there, This is relatively simple. There are two scenarios. 1) You have media on the CD, that you want in MP3 format back on your computer. From OS X, if you have iTunes (comes preinstalled) you can rip the CD into media files in your choice of .aac and .mp3 format. 2) If you need to get talking tapes into MP3 files, that are live recorded or any other "talking" form -> You can use Audacity OS X (Freeware - google it) to save those files to .mp3 or burn them to a CD. Hope this helps, Joey ----- Adding onto what Joey had said... Using iTunes, you can convert your CD (Aiff) format into an MP3 format using the following steps: 1, Open iTunes 2. Choose "iTunes" (on menu bar) 3. Choose "Preferences" 4. Choose "General" Tab 5. Click "Import settings" 6. Choose "import using: MP3 encoder" 7. Choose "settings: 192 (best quality)" 8. Click "OK" 9. Highlight the song(s) you'd like to convert 10. choose "Advanced" (on menu bar) 11. click "Create MP3" iTunes will now convert your CD (AIff) format into an MP3 format. - Carlo

The jailbreaking in itself is not illegal.
The jailbreaking in itself just allows you to modify your iPod Touch/iPhone settings so you can customize it to your liking beyond normal setting restrictions. This part of the jailbreaking is completely legal.
However, downloading any app that normally requires payment for free is illegal. This part of the jailbreaking is completely illegal.

Yes, and it happens very often.
Jailbreaking your iPod is very risky, because it can corrupt the software, but more importantly, ruin the hardware. If you are not sure what you are doing, then do not jailbreak your iPod.
Just got back a month ago from the Philippines. I have an unlocked US version of iPhone 4 running iOS 4.0. Worked like a charm. Hence the word "unlocked" so yeah it will work just fine. Unless you're iPhone 4 is running iOS 4.0.2 and above (which the latest is 4.3.1), then you're out of luck, that is, you cant unlock your iphone through Ultrasn0w. If you plan to go there soon, probably try GEVEY SIM for iPhone 4 as this hardware mod can unlock iPhone 4 on iOS 4.1 to 4.2.1. Retails about $70 but eBay has cheaper ones. But if you are not in a hurry, the Dev Team is trying to crack the iPhone NCK Key that can permanently unlock your iPhone 4 for life. You can wqit for that too. Good luck! iPhone 4 16GB Black iOS 4.0 Jailbroken using jailbreakme.com Unlocked using ultrsn0w 1.2
