Well, if you have other questions, ASK them. If the interviewer didn't discuss salary or benefits, etc. go ahead and ask about that. Interviewing is tough for EVERYONE. Some people do NOT know how to conduct an interview or they'll forget to ask you things or tell you things. Otherwise, ask for the interviewer's business card or other contact info. If you do have questions later that will allow you to contact them. ~ T

How do you reply to 'What are your weaknesses' in an interview?

This is one of the types of question that you may get at an interview; they are intended to get you to talk about yourself in a fairly informal manner. The questions are usually about some aspect of your own life so it is not possible for anyone else to answer them for you.

You should think carefully, before attending the interview, about such questions as this so as to be prepared when asked. There are several such questions and there is a great deal of information on the internet and elsewhere about techniques to employ when attending interviews.

The most important thing is to answer this question honestly. If you lie at an interview you may end up in a job that doesn't suit you, or not getting the job if the interviewer realises you're lying

What does your ideal work day look like?

Get up at around 7:30 or 8 am, get ready and get to work, sign in on a sheet of paper, chit chat with the rest of the staff until the store opens, then usually either spend the whole work day at the till serving the customers or spend the whole work day out in the back of the store, hanging up new clothes, pricing and tagging and/or steaming. Sometimes I do stuff out the back and cash register work in the same day, but lately it's just been one or the other.

Name something that an employer is not allowed to ask about in a job interview?

There are many different questions. I'll cover the main ones. Never ask if anyone is married, even if they have a wedding ring. Never ask if anyone is dating/seeing someone. Don't ask any race/sex question. Don't ask about children, or if a woman if they are pregnant or how long. Also, never go into any type of religion unless specific to the job.

Any and all off these questions can lead to a law suit for discrimination so it's best to avoid asking any of these. It also goes the same way if you are asked, don't be afraid to tell someone that is an illegal question and you don't have to answer it, or you can tell them nicely that after you are offered the job you will be able to discuss that information.

Answer

It was 1987, my foreman had become sick and the company that I worked for needed someone to run the paint line process. I had the experience, they new it and they decided to give me a try at running this paint line process. The company had taken a contract to paint doors for all of General Motors Busses not only in Canada but some in the States as well. To be honest I didn't know if I was ready to handle such a large contract with such responsibilies, but I thought to myself, if I don't try then I won't know if I can do the job or not. We didn't have to do the finishing paint as different cities have different colors for their busses, doors included but we had to prime the pieces, wrap them in a special type of paper, put the pieces in a box and move them to the shipping department. There were six of us to do this big job, plus all of the other jobs that the company had contracts to do. I called the men in for a meeting and advised them that for the next 6 months we'd be working a ton of overtime and if there was someone in our group who couldn't work that overtime, they should tell me now. No one had any problems with working nearly 70 hours a week. Six and a half months went by before we finished that contract. I was given a fat raise for my efforts to not only finish that contract, but my efforts to plan my day's of work, and keeping the other guys happy as well. What I learned from that experience was, never doubt your own abilitiies, take a chance, you never know where it will take you.

How do you answer the questions in a job interview?

You would say that you have a great attention to detail and keep errors to a minimum. You can't say that you will never make mistakes because you are human (and even machines make mistakes!) You may also want to add to this a scenario where a mistake is made and then tell the interviewer what you wouold do in the event that such a mistake would occur. This will show how well you "think on your feet," that you're responsible and that you won't fall to pieces when an error is found. ~ T
