Where do you insert refrigerant into your 2008 Kia Optima?

By taking it to a professional who has the skill and the proper tools to accomplish this repair and to fix the leak. It is illegal to add refrigerant to any system without first repairing the leak.

Where is the fuel pump located on a 2005 Kia Optima?

On a 2005 Kia Optima, the fuel pump is located inside the fuel tank. To access it, you typically need to remove the rear seat cushion and then the access cover or, in some cases, drop the fuel tank itself. It's important to ensure the vehicle is properly supported and that safety precautions are taken when working with fuel systems.

What gas grade do you use for a 2004 Kia Optima V6?

All Kia Optimas are built to be run on regular unleaded (87 octane) gas. Any higher octane does not enhance performance on these cars as the fuel ignition system will compensate. As with all gasoline containing ethanol, use of a fuel system cleaner is recommended to prevent varnishing of the injector system.

What is the purpose of the crankshaft sensor on a 1998 Kia sport age?

The crank sensor (real name is crankshaft position sensor) senses when a notch on the crankshaft goes by and sends a pulse to the car's computer. This tells the computer where the crankshaft is in it's rotation so that the computer will fire the spark plug and injectors at the correct time.

You replaced all your belts on your 05 kia optima it will crank but not start?

first of all, what belts were changed? if the timing belt was changed and installed correctly, that shouldn't be the problem. it could however be a whole list of things. most likely a crankshaft position sensor, they are about 80 bucks. it also could be a cam position sensor, fuel pump or engine control module. without a scan tool, it will be a crap shoot. if it dies when it gets warm, i would go with the crank sensor. if it sounds like you have more than 1 battery hooked up, or it cranks really fast or wierd sounding, the timing belt is not in time. good luck!!

Where is the reset button on the RKE Module on a 2004 Kia Optima?

You may not need the reset button. Try disconnecting the negative battery terminal for a period of time, possibly up to 30 minutes. The RKE system on our Kia Optima often stops working, and unhooking the power makes it work again.

What would cause loss of steering on Kia Optima when wet?

This is a vague question. Based on the simple question, I would suspect the ribbed belt that turns the power steering pump is getting wet and slipping. The power steering is essentially "broken" when the belt slips. This could be what you are experiencing. Replacing the belt and properly tensioning it should cure this problem. I'd also want to look into how water is getting to it. Are all the shields and covers that surround the engine still present? Are you driving through really deep puddles? Good luck!

Change rear hub assembly Kia Optima?

I got so far and can't get the hub assembly off. I tookthe disk brakes off. Took the brake holder off. Removed the 4 bolts from the back that looks like it is holding the hub but the hub will not come off. Is it pressed in? Do I need to remove the drum brakes and pry off the hub?

How do you replace a clutch on 02 Kia Optima?

If it's anything like the 05, the trick is to remove the lever for the release fork before removing the transmission. This is because the clutch plate and release bearing becomes attached to each other. This is a pull type clutch pressure plate. Meaning that the release bearing fits into a clip that is part of the pressure plate assembly. Once you press the clutch pedal, the release bearing pulls the clutch pressure plate towards the transmission, allowing the clutch disc to be released from the engine flywheel. Once you remove the atuator arm, the pivot for the release shaft is free to rotate to release the release bearing from the fork. You should see the release bearing still attached to the pressure plate once the transmission is removed. Oh, one more thing, you will have to remove the subframe in order to gain access to the transmission for removal. My car has a 4 cylinder by the way. Oh there is one more thing. You have to reinstall the release lever to the release fork arm before installing transmission. If you fail to do this, the release arm may rotate without you being aware, therefore the release bearing will become dislodged from the release fork. That is the most critical step for reinstallation.

Why would a 2004 Kia Optima run good but suddenly turn off for no reason?

Same thing just happened to my 04 Kia Optima. It was caused by the Crankshaft position sensor. A real bear to get to also.

What type of oil to use on a 2007 kia?

The recommended oil will be in the manual but if you dont have it look on the oil cap if its not on the cap then choosing a oil is your choice DO NOT WORRY choosing an oil is really based on your preference of the veicle. for instance a new car would take a 5w-20 or a 5w-30 the reason is the engine is new and the oil is thin best for newer motors, this is also good if your in a state that is cold alot this helps for cold start ups, and good compression, however if your a "tuner person" switching to a 10w-30 would be better for you as the oil is a little bit thicker and the compression is increased very little creating more power this also keeps the valves and pistons lubricated longer or if the engine is a little older around 50,000 miles. A synthetic oil will last a lot longer and is very clean, a regular oil change is every 3000 miles or 3 months, a synthetic oil change is every 5000 miles. The best oil I like to use is Ams oil 10w-30 (very expencive but is excellent) if this is too much for you try Mobil synthetic (less expensive but very good) and my third choice would be Valvoline
