Can you find the Book of Psalms in Aramaic?
It may be very difficult to find the Book of Psalms in Aramaic since the Psalms were composed in Hebrew and not translated until the time of the Septuagint (and then only to Greek and Syriac). As far as I am aware, such a thing does not exist, but keep looking.
Specifically the "Eli, Eli, Lama Sabachtani?" is the Aramaic Translation of Psalm 22:2 which in Hebrew is "Eli, Eli, Lama Azavtani?" and in English is "My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?"
What are Goliath's bronze greaves?
Greaves are a form of armor that would cover a man's shins (the forward part of the leg between the knee and the base of the foot). Goliath was an armed combatant and therefore it is reasonable that he would have been wearing greaves made of bronze.
See the link below for a picture of greaves.
Who is the prophet that God had crown King David?
The prophet in question did not actually crown King David; he just anointed him as a future successor. It was the prophet Samuel son of Hannah who originally 'anointed' David, declaring that he would be king in front of his brothers. However, David did not ascend to the throne at that time.
It wasn't until David was 30 years old that 'the older men' from only one tribe, the tribe of Judah at Hebron, anointed David as King.
Saul's surviving son (Ish-Bosheth) was king for the other tribes, until his assassination 2 two years later. It was only then that the other tribes came under David's Kingship.
What year did david have uriah killed?
David had Uriah killed around 1000 BC, during a time when David was king of Israel. This event is detailed in the biblical account found in 2 Samuel 11. David orchestrated Uriah's death by sending him to the front lines of battle, where the fighting was fiercest, to cover up his adultery with Uriah's wife, Bathsheba.
Why did king David give Abner his first wife Michal?
He didn't! Her father, Saul, gave her to another man, Paltiel, after she helped David to flee his jealous rage. David became a brigand, and neither returned nor tried to get Michal back - from his point of view it had been a political marriage (though the Bible records that she loved him passionately), and he regarded her as an encumbrance.
For a number of years she lived with Paltiel as her husband, and it appears that they were happy - the Bible records that he followed her on foot, crying, when David sent Abner and a force of soldiers to get her back. This may be where you have got the idea that he gave her to Abner.
Again it was a political move - Saul was dead, and having the daughter of the late King as part of his harem strengthened David's claim to the throne. Poor Michal was kept for her political value - the Bible records that she had no children to the day she died, suggesting that David never bothered with her, saving his affections for his other seven wives and numerous concubines.
King David was a Hebrew. The Catholic Church did not exist at the time nor did the Jews.
To be a Jew meant many things, lived in the land of Judah, to be a convert to Judaism which was not the religion of the Hebrews and some called members of the tribe of Judah Jews after 2nd kings.
King David was born in Judah, and his family were all from the tribe of Ephraim.
What was God's punishment to King David?
In 1 Chronicles 21 King David takes a census of his army which was "evil in the sight of God" (verse 7) and so God sends Gad (David's seer) to tell King David to choose a punishment out of three (verses 11-12).
"This is what the LORD says: 'Take your choice: 12 three years of famine, three months of being swept away[a] before your enemies, with their swords overtaking you, or three days of the sword of the LORD-days of plague in the land, with the angel of the LORD ravaging every part of Israel.' "
King David chooses the last one saying(verse 13):
"Let me fall into the hands of the LORD, for his mercy is very great; but do not let me fall into human hands."
He was bad in the sense that we are all bad, i.e. There is none righteous, no not one. And let's not forget Bathsheba; however, the Bible clearly states that he was a man after God's own heart.
How do you reconcile the two? You don't - God does. It is the same with us. We are sinners, plain and simple. The only way to be reconciled to God is for Him to change your heart.
What were King David's weaknesses and mistakes?
King David was impatient, complicit, and had a weakness for women. He had an affair with Bathsheda which resulted in a pregnancy. He effectively had her husband killed. He allowed his sons to rape and murder. He retook the throne of Jerusalem without the consent of Israel. All of these things displeased the Lord and led to his downfall.
Answer:
King David never had a "downfall." Except in the matter of Uriah, he was the perfect man (1 Kings 15:5). The above answer is based on a secular perusal of the Bible without tradition or commentary and presumes to judge without many pertinent details.
Who were King David's enemies?
