If you would like to delete all files and downloads on the laptop without formatting. Try System Restore and restore the laptop back top a date where those files were not downloaded onto the laptop. Word of Caution!: Tray to delete all files that can be deleted first. For example if yopu have downloaded Adobe Photoshop. Unistall this programn before system restore or you will never see the hard drive space required for that program again. Hope this helps

Depending on the optical drive installed, you may have to flash the firmware on the drive to make it "region free".

The disk tray is most likely to be damaged, it is a good idea not to put DVD's in the disk tray if it is broken because it could damge your DVD's. If you have dropped your laptop recently that is probably the reason it has stopped working. To fix the disk tray either take it to a computer specialist to fix it which is expensive or ring Sony and ask them to refund it or fix it free for you.

Your monitor could be old and needs adjustment, or your video card could be crap. I've seen the same monitor look sharp on one PC and fuzzy on the next PC. You could be running through too much cable or a switchbox (KVM) and loosing the higher frequencies in your signal.

I recently tried to install the Elementary Luna OS using Unetbootin. Instead of installing to a USB or CD to boot from, I installed the OS to the hard drive. It seemed to install fine, the BIOS showed the option to boot from either Windows 7 or the UNetbootin. Selecting the latter, would boot up the Elementary Luna OS, but immediately, the touchpad on the PC mentioned in the subject line, was disabled. Prior to doing any of this, the F keys and a few of the keys in the top left corner of the keyboard, were disabled too. So, any accidental presses of FN and the enable/disable the touchpad key, were essentially impossible. Even going back into Windows 7, and enabling/disabling the touchpad, updating/installing the/new drivers, and installing Windows updates still left the touchpad disabled. I deleted/uninstalled everything to do with the Linux OS and only have Windows installed. It should be noted that booting in Safe Mode, the touchpad works fine and the cursor moves as normal.

Would the installation of the Linux OS have disabled the touchpad? Is there any way of reverting the touchpad back to usable state?

Lenovo laptops do sell desktops. These desktops are very reliable and works quite fast. Another great thing about the Lenovo desktops are that they are very eco-friendly and have great power usage.

For the Money I would say so. The spec of the net book is good for the money as the net book is so tight and compact. Although I do not buy net books myself as they do not tend to be powerful enough for what I do. Don't expect to do anything like gaming on this equipment as it is not powerful enough, but its good if you take it to places like work and need quick access to something like a word processor or the Internet.

HP tends to be a trustworthy company and they are known for good reliability in there products.

If you want to do something like gaming and want to still have a computer that's mobile buy a laptop because at £270.00 (Average price of HP mini 210 net book) you can get a laptop which is twice the power of the net book and it is possible to upgrade it's hardware in the future.
