I would suspect a spark ignition timing problem. If the car starts but the engine stalls, it's probably not the charging system (battery and starter motor).

One thing I have noticed about my '92 SC300 is that it is very sensitive to the flow rate on its oil filter. I've tried to use cheaper filters, like a Fram, and the flow rate is too low for the car to sustain combustion and it idles very rough. I use only Mobil 1 oil filters now and no problems.

It's a light that comes on when you have the sports ride feature turned on.

In your SC look at the center console. You'll see a switch that turns that sport drive feature on and off.

There is one inside the passenger compartment and one under the hood - both on the driver's side. The one inside is down by your feet on the left side under the side carpet. It is roughly 3" by 2.5". The one under the hood is near the battery and is roughly 8" by 5". It has two slotted circles/screws in the top that you can unscrew with a coin.

Well I have just bought a pulley belt from a stockists and the belt came up as the same one as a ls 400 ,so I guess if you get a manual for a ls 400 it will tell you what you need to know
