Dear Mr. Lundgren,

I shopped at Macy's Herald Square on Labor Day, 9/2/13. I was appalled by the dirtiness of the fitting rooms on the 5th floor. I realize you were shorthanded for the holiday but things like filthy and stained carpeting are inexcusable -- especially since Macy's has a carpet cleaning service. (Typical story of the cobbler's children going barefoot.) Customers left mounds of clothing in the fitting rooms, even dumping clothing on the floor, and there wasn't enough staff to clear the rooms. To put it bluntly, the rooms looked like a slum, a dirty and neglected ghetto. It detracted from what I had planned as a treat, a shopping holiday. I took pictures and wish I could send them to you -- that's how bad it was.

Oh, and the restroom on the lower level, needless to say, was abominable. I picked paper up off the floor while in the handicapped stall mainly because I thought it was enough that someone might be in a wheelchair; why be subjected to a dirty looking stall when you have no options.

I am a mystery shopper and I also own a minority/women-owned commercial cleaning company here in NYC so I have an extra sharp eye for details. If I can be of service to you, please consider it. You might consider hiring my company for a special project of detail cleaning your fitting rooms on a monthly or quarterly basis. Or as an option, hiring us to do inspections and provide "report cards" on our findings. We would be willing to do either of these options on a trial basis if you decide to give us a try.

At any rate, I hope you will consider SOME type of maintenance program to improve your substandard fitting rooms.
