Why are Madden games consistently more awful the newer they are?
Because they have no incentive to make a better game. They are the only company who can make an NFL game so if you want to play a football game its going to have to be Madden.
I bought Madden11 after not having bought a football game since madden05, and besides obvious graphical and interface features, they are more similar than I had expected which was very disappointing.
In short, until they get some competition madden is going to be a rip-off, as they have no incentive to improve the game.
Its the weird coincidence that all the cover athletes for the Madden Franchise get injured the next year. (For example, after being on last year's Madden NFL 07 cover, Shaun Alexander fractured a bone in his left foot three weeks into the season)
Curses and jinx's are probably not true but the year Michael Vick was on Madden he broke his ankle, Troy Polomalu this year suffered a knee injury that will keep him out 3-6 weeks. If I was an NFL football star I would not want to be on the cover of the Madden game.

They ruined superstar mode for madden 10 in my opinion. They took out most of the things that made it fun. Maybe they will make an add-on that we can download to make it better? If you want to play superstar mode go back to madden 09.
As for franchise, it go much better. You should definitely play franchise mode if you are going to pick one of the two. But if you are really trying to get a good football gaming experience you would be better off gettin NFL 2k5.

How do you get the dummies on madden 08 for PS2?
You have to do Franchise which is under Game Modes. Then you have to beat a few games (7 or 8) and then on the main menu, it says skill drills. Click on that, and then do practice. You just got to the dummies.
That is Wrong ^. You can go to skill drills as soon as you start the game without playing in fanchise mode. To unlock the dummies, you must beat them in the fantasy challenge. It is pretty hard, but it is possible.
