When you play a land that says it enters the battlefield tapped does it still produce the mana for that turn or does it have to wait till the next turn?

To get the mana from a land, you have to tap it yourself. If another effect taps a permanent, then you don't gain that card's effect. The same goes for anything that comes into play tapped, it doesn't mean you automatically get the card's effect, or mana in the case of a land.

What is the echo ability in the magic the gathering card game?

Echo is a triggered ability that makes a card require a one-time upkeep payment on the turn after the card entered play.

For example:

Mogg War Marshal. Casting Cost: 1C,1R.

Echo: 1c1r (At the beginning of your upkeep if this card came into your control since the beginning of your last upkeep, sacrifice it unless you pay its echo cost)

So you're paying its casting cost, or whatever it lists as its echo cost, for the round/turn after you bring it into play essentially.

What magic the gathering cards have interrupt?

Interrupt is an obsolete game term, and any card that had it, is now an Instant, or an ability that can be played at instant speed.

Counterspell was originally an Interrupt, as were many other counter cards. Any of them, that have been reprinted, will now show as an Instant and even if a card has not been reprinted, its Oracle wording will now show it as an Instant.

In Magic the Gathering what does 'trample' mean?

'Trample' allows a creature to deal damage to a player even it is blocked. When damage is dealt, it needs only assign 'lethal' damage to the blockers, the rest is dealt to the player. 'Lethal damage' is considered to be damage equal to the blocker's toughness, it does not take 'Protection' or 'Indestructable' into account. So take a situation where an 8/8 trampler is blocked by a 1/1 creature with indestructable, and a 1/1 creature who has protection from the colour of the attacker. The attacker can deal 1 damage to each, and the remaining 6 to the opponent, it doesn't matter that both creatures survive the 'lethal' damage.

As a last note, a creature with both Trample and Deathtouch needs only deal a single point of damage to any blocker, regardless of toughness. So if that same creature above was blocked by two 3/3 creatures, it still can deal just one to each and the rest to the player. Without Deathtouch it would be forced to deal 3 to each, and only 2 to the player.

When you cast a spell and it is countered in Magic The Gathering is it still considered to have been cast?

Yes - a spell is counted as cast, when it is 'cast' and goes on the stack.

So if something triggers from a spell being cast, it will trigger right then and there, before the spell even resolves and before any counterspells can be placed on the stack.

Does the first player in magic the gathering draw a card?

No, the first player in a game of Magic: The Gathering does not draw a card. This is because the player going first has the advantage of an empty battlefield and can perform some actions before their opponent has any chance to respond. The next player draws a card for their first turn as a way of making up for their disadvantage on the field by having more cards to choose from on their first play.
