When a health care provider reports abuse should the accuser be able to know the identity of his or her accuser?

All health care workers are mandatory reporters. This means that by law they have to report any case they have suspicion as might be abuse. They do not have to prove the abuse exists, just suspect that it does.

When the healthcare worker reports a case of abuse, their name and info is taken by the investigating office, but it does not have to be shared with the accused.

Once the healthcare provider reports the suspected abuse, it is the investigating office, not the healthcare worker that decides whether abuse occurred or not, and it is the investigating office that files the charges.

In the US it is true that you have the right to face your accuser, but in cases of abuse it is the investigating office that is the accuser, and not the healthcare worker. So, you have a right to face the investigating office, and they will have a representative at the court. The healthcare worker, since they are not filing the charges does not have to be there.

Now having said that, the healthcare worker will most likely be present at the trial, but as a witness and not as an accuser.

When CPR can be applied?

What is CPR?

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is an emergency procedure involving chest compressions and artificial respiration. It has the power to restore blood flow to the brain preventing it from dying until an ambulance arrives.

Any victim that is unconscious, not breathing and/or no pulse needs CPR.

History Of CPR

Modern CPR developed in the late 1950s and early 1960s. The discoverers of mouth-to-mouth ventilation were Drs. James Elam and Peter Safar. Though mouth-to-mouth resuscitation was described in the Bible (mostly performed by midwives to resuscitate newborns) it fell out of practice until it was rediscovered in the 1950s. In early 1960 Drs. Kouwenhoven, Knickerbocker, and Jude discovered the benefit of chest compression to achieve a small amount of artificial circulation. Later in 1960, mouth-to-mouth and chest compression were combined to form CPR similar to the way it is practiced today.

1900: The lifeless body of a young girl was pulled from the River Seine in Paris, France. There was no evidence of violence and it was assumed that she had taken her own life. Since her identity could not be established, a death mask was made, as was customary in such a case. Several romantic stories based on this mystery were published. According to one, her death was the result of an unrequited romance. This legend became popular throughout Europe, as did reproductions of her death mask. She was known as the Girl from the River Seine.

1958: Asmund S. Laerdal of Stavanger, Norway, a doll and toy maker by trade, began work on a life-like manikin for training people on mouth to mouth resuscitation. Inspired by the mask of the young girl who died so young, he commissioned the well-known sculptress Emma Mathiassen to model a manikin face in her likeness. Thus, the spirit of the Girl from the River Seine again came to life as Resusci Anne in 1960.

What is the medical term meaning regurgitation?

Regurgitation of fluids backwards compared to their normal course is known as reflux. For example, movement of stomach contents backwards through the esophagus is esophageal reflux. "Brash" is sometimes used to describe this phenomenon as well. If this fluid exits forefully through the mouth, it's referred to as emesis (commonly known as vomiting). Vesicoureteral reflux is backwards regurgitation of urine from the bladder to the ureters. In describing movement of blood through heart valves, "regurgitation" is normally used.

How long does it take the permanent tooth to grow after the baby one is pulled?

It depends on a number of factors. Was the baby tooth loose at the time? If so, the permanent tooth should begin erupting into the mouth within just a few days or weeks. If the baby tooth was not loose, it could take several months, depending on the state of development of the permanent tooth.

After taking an x-ray of the area, a dentist could make a fairly accurate prediction of how long the permanent tooth will take to grow in.

If the baby tooth was lost prematurely, a space maintainer might need to be placed to prevent future orthodontic or occlusion problems. Check with a dentist.
