Menstruation

Menstruation is the routine discharge, or release, of blood and mucosal tissue from the uterus. This process occurs about once a month from the time a female reaches puberty until menopause. During pregnancy, the monthly menstrual cycle is absent while the womb nourishes the growing fetus.

Should you worry about not having a period?

From reading many other websites with this kind of question...i have read that it is normal to be a day or two late from your period. There are different factors that can contribute to a late period like nerves and stress and irregular cycles. Worrying about whether or not you're pregnant also puts stress on you so wait a couple days and then get a pregnancy test if it doesn't show up. I hope that helps some!

Can tampons get stuck inside you?

yes, but it is not very likely usually only if you are going hardcore. if you are worried try a second method such as birth control or something like that. talk to your obgyn about the most effective safe sex methods.

How long after removing a tampon would you know that it was not toxic shock?

It's a myth that TSS only occurs from leaving tampons in too long - most TSS cases occur within the first 2-3 hours of use.

Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS) occurs when certain bacteria multiply and start creating TSST-1 toxins, these toxins enter the body via vaginal tissues and damage caused by tampon use, if you lack immunity to TSST-1 toxins they overwhelm the immune system leading to TSS. If a person lacks immunity to TSST-1 toxins then the effect is immediate, these toxins don't wait until X number of hours to take effect.

If a tampon is left too long this increases the likelihood of bacteria responsible for TSS multiplying to unsafe levels and starting to produce TSST-1 toxins, likelihood of TSST-1 toxins accumulating to unsafe levels, and of TSST-1 toxins entering your body and having a serious effect. There is no specific time-frame when you may contract TSS or start to see symptoms.

Im 13 and you have missed a period?

please don't worry about that. your body might not be adjusted yet. if your a vigin there is no way you can be pregnant but if your not a vrgin talk to your parents. Yeah i get that's a lame and awful answer but its the truth.

Dont worry, the first two years of your cycle will be irregular, what can help is keeping a special diary where you write how you are feeling that day. I always get a little moody before my period. Remember, you are not the only one nor shall you be the last girl to face this problem. It will come eventually, in the meanwhile relax and wear panty liner, just in case.

What happens just before starting a period?

you fist get this white film on your underwear, then you get a woozy feeling in your stomach, after that the next day you get bad cramps in your stomach, go to the bathroomIMMEDIATELY! then sure enough you will have your period!!!!!

What is the cause of bleeding in between periods while on birth control?

birth control manipulates your hormones to prevent pregnancy....your body is trying to normalize. you may need a higher dose pill. check with GYN doctor

What does it mean if you had two periods this month but the second one only lasted four days and this has never happened to me?

It probably just means you are having short periods. You're just "luck." If you have started the pill or another form of birthcontrol, this could be the reason also. That happens with most birthcontrol.

Can you still have a cycle in still be pregnant?

yes. your cycle is more of a "reminder" of when you are MOST fertile. It is very hard to track pregnancy through menstruation. It is a good warning sign if you miss your period...but there are alot of ways around that. it is possible to have your period the whole time you are pregnant even! also you can miss a period and not be pregnant. After your cycle you have a lower risk of becoming pregnant because your uterus lining is sheding, discarding your old egg out with it. but this doesnt mean that by chance the old egg didnt get flushed out, or maybe you have already produced a new one. there is no way to be 100% sure you will not get pregnant. the best way to avoid it is both condoms and some form of birth control. This will also prevent possible STI's. if you are worried about being pregnant...the best thing you can do is get a pregnancy test. But don't rely on just one. There can be false negatives, but there are never false positives!

Hope that helped a bit.

Can a guy eat you out when you have your period?

No, it's not bad at all.

Sexual activity during menstruation can be really great for the woman because of increased arousal and sensitivity to her genitals, also orgasm can ease menstrual cramps. Although as the one performing oral sex you may not want to consume menstrual blood so you could ask her to use tampons, soft tampons, sponges, menstrual cups, or softcups to prevent there being any blood on her vulva.

As always practice safer sex - unless you are in a monogomous long-term relationship, and you both have had up-to-date STD testing, you should use dental dams when performing oral sex on a woman to prevent STD risk.

Why do sanitary napkins have gel?

Only commercial sanitary pads contain gel. The reason is that the gel acts to hold the menstrual blood in the pad so it can contain more, although the gel may be harmful to health which is one reason why many women refuse to use commercial brands that may use gels like Always or Kotex.

What happens a week after menstrual cycle?

Menstrual cycle refers to the entire reproductive cycle, starting during menstruation - there is no 'after the menstrual cycle' but I think you might mean after menstruation. After menstruation the cycle starts again, typically a woman will be fertile around a week after menstruation so her body will produce fertile cervical mucus and she will ovulate.

What does it mean when you missed your period there is brown discharge and some minor back pain?

U most likely could be pregnant. Brownish discharge is implantation bleeding and does not last very long and totally normal. (I've been reading up TTC) If u have missed your period I would take a home pregnancy test.

Good luck to you!!

Is it normal for women not having menstruation for 2-3 months?

Well, it depends. If you have recently gotten your first period ever, than it's perfectly normal for it to be irregular for around two years before having a normal cycle. It's also normal for it to not be irregular when you first get it. The only reason you should not have it for two months could be a chance of pregnancy. I would suggest going to a doctor to get a check up.

What does brownish spotting instead of your period mean?

your most likely pregnant and it is old blood you need to let your doctor check you could be pregnant and old blood your uterus is getting rid off

What does it mean if you are spotting red blood approximately one week before your period is due?

Spotting before your period should be discussed with your physician or OBGYN. One common reason for spotting in endometriosis. Normally, the uterus is lined with a rich tissue called endometrial tissue. This tissue grows during your cycle to potentially accomodate a foetus, and if you do not fall pregnant, that thickened lining sloughs off, which results in your period. Occasionally though, endometrial tissue can make its way to other parts of the body- typically to the ovaries or fallopian tubes, but cases have been documented where it has found its way to the lungs and other places (v. v. rare!!)! This tissue grows as it would have in the uterus, and can cause bleeding at unusual times, typically before your period is due. Women with endometriosis commonly complain of cramping and spotting, and often the spotting can be a dark red or chocolatey colour. It is important to remember that endometriosis is a common disorder that causes the symptom you mentioned, but does not constitute a diagnosis- you should still see your physician or OBGYN for a diagnosis and treatment (if it is required). Hope that helped! Aj :)

What does it mean to be seven days late when your period is irregular?

i don't known, in period at november 15th and next month at december 23rd. there is any problem in this period. kindly reply the answer

How long is the menstrual cycle supposed to be?

As a rule a woman gets her period once per month. They can last for 2 to 7 days. A cycle is normally about 28 days, but it varies from woman to woman.

Early in your puberty the period can be irregular and even skip a month. Always, if you are unsure consult a nurse or a doctor, or if you're sexually active, take a pregnancy test.

What are the benefits to wearing no panties at all?

there are Many Advantages for Males and Females

for Males:

  • when wearing shorts, if its hot out or you are sweating a lot, the sweat evaporates more quickly, versus boxers, or especially briefs were the sweats soaks into the underwear and smells, which can lead to rashes and other fungal infections.
  • the feeling of no underwear feels AMAZING.
  • you can change in or out of your clothes more quickly.
  • there can be a bulge if desired.
  • your sperm count will increase greatly, especially if you wore briefs.
  • when wearing loose clothing such as sweatpants or basketball shorts, the feeling of the fabric against you is incredible, and the free range of movement of your genitals also feels wonderful
  • you will learn to love the occasional breeze, especially when wearing shorts

For Females:

  • the same things with shorts or dresses, especially concerning the airing out of the genitals
  • you will learn to love the occasional breeze, especially when wearing shirts/dresses or shorts

there are of course some disadvantages though:

you have to make sure you wipe thoroughly after number 2, and for males, shake thoroughly after number 1.

when wearing skirts or dresses for females, there can always be a chance for exposure, like the wind blowing your skirt up, or showing your genitals when sitting.

or for males wearing loose clothing like sweats or basketball shorts, it can be quite obvious you are without underwear when walking.

but I think the advantages fairly outweigh the disadvantages....

Is it normal to have a brown discharge days before your period?

It is very normal, it just means your cleaning yourself out before. But, it is only fine if its before your first period. If you have had your period for the first time before and asked this question before it came again then no because it could be an infection

Hope you got my point

Hope it helped too......now shes right get back to school

What happens when the string of your tampon comes off when it is inside you?

It depends. You might get a slight infection (the name, I can't remember, but I read somewhere that you can get it from wearing tampon, I might be wrong though). Tampon is supposed to prevent the excess bleeding from being on a period. I know that because I always have heavy periods & I always use tampons!

What could be wrong if your period started five days early?

Your period's cycle is regulated by a 28 day lunar cycle, and can often be miscalculated. Although it's good to keep track of it by marking it on a calendar, also do some research to determine how the phases of the moon affect your menstrual cycle. Not only to mention, there are other things which may cause you to be off balance as well. Stress, poor diet (i.e. consuming too much sugar, caffeine, sweets, or dairy) can throw off your period as well as not getting enough rest.

Can you have physical if your having your period?

Yes, you can have a physical while you're on your period.
Menstruation doesn't stop you from doing anything that you would do normally.

Does it mean you're ovulating normally if you're still getting a period every month?

You ovulate befrore you period starts. Ovulation is when the egg drops from the ovary and goes down the tube. Your period is when your body sheds the egg and the extra linging it has built in the uterus. You have to ovulate to have a period. Unless you are using a hormonal birth control

No, you don't necessarily ovulate just because you have your period.

How can you stop your Period Pains?

The best way to cure your period pains is to keep really warm. Try using a waterbottle on your stomach, taking long hot baths, and drinking lots of warm drinks. Herbal remedies that can be found on the internet are also an alternative, but if they are extremely painful, and you cannot seem to find anything that works, you may need to talk to your Doctor or GP so that they can perscribe you with a mild pain releif drug, such as Ibruprofen. Hope I helped, and remember, It's ony a week a month! =)

Bleeding inserting tampons?

You should only be using tampons during menstruation or withdrawal bleeds - during full bleeding. Tampons absorb blood and vaginal moisture so result in the vaginal walls becoming ulcerated and split, with less blood the damage is more severe and this is not only uncomfortable but increases risk of TSS as damaged vaginal tissues gives TSST-1 toxins responsible for TSS a direct route into the bloodstream. If you're not menstruating and use tampons then the tampon can cause more vaginal tissue damage and result in bleeding.
