Can you take two active BC pills on the day of your period to delay it when you haven't been on them for months?

You could take two birth control pills on the day you're supposed to start your period, but they likely would have little to no effect on when your period starts. The timing of your period is determined by the interaction of several hormones over the course of two-three weeks - popping a couple of low-dose estrogen/progesterone pills isn't going to derail that by much, if anything.

What does it mean if you are getting your period every 40 days or so for the last 2 months and have been off NuvaRing for almost five months and off depo provera for almost 8 months?

There is no special meaning to a 40 day cycle. Talk with your health care provider if you are trying to get pregnant. Otherwise, just continue noting the timing of your periods.

Why do woman have period?

I'm not going to be scientific here but what happens is an egg in one of your two ovaries (where eggs are kept) travels along the tube to where the baby is supposed to develop. Where the baby is suppose to develop walls are produced to help the baby grow and to protect it. But if the egg isn't fertilized by sperm during sex, the walls crumble into which looks like blood, and comes out of the vagina. This happens every month, from when you start during puberty (in your teens) till when you stop at an older age.

If you're on the pill and you decide to keep skipping your period will anything bad happen?

No its not particularly safe. You should never change the way that you take any medication without talking to a doctor first.

For some specific reasons some women do choose to skip a period and take the pill for 2 consecutive months and as a one off this is unlikely to cause any long term issues but you should absolutely not do so every month. The chemicals in the Pill are known to stimulate your endometrium (the lining of your womb) and continued use of the Pill without a break could lead to thickening of the endometrium which in turn could cause you real health problems in the future.

So before you do anything else, talk honestly to a doctor and explain what you have been doing, for how long and ask what your options are.

Secondly, if anyone is putting pressure on you to taking the pill constantly then you should seriously consider your relationship with that person. Would anyone that genuinely cared for you put your health at risk rather than cope with 7 sex-free days?

Make an appointment with your doctor.

Why do you get your period before your placebo pill week?

Your cycle isn't regular yet. If you are fairly young it often takes 2-3 years for your cycle to "level" out. This is nothing to worry about. The placebo pills are just place holders to help you start the new pill cycle on the right day.

How do you temporarily stop your cycle?

Well there is a herb called "Yarrow" that I use to stop or lighten my period! It's only about $3 for a bag and it has really helped me! I think you can get it at any herb or garden store! What I do is boil some water in a kettle and get a coffee filter and put about a tablespoon of the yarrow in it and then use a twisty tie to seal it up, pour the water in a glass and sit the yarrow ball in it! You can let is sit as long as you like depending on how strong you want it! Take a couple of shots after it cools down and that should do the trick! It's taste is not the most pleasant but it will definitely do the trick... it's only temporary though... it will last about 12 hours! Good Luck!!!!

Can you be pregnant if you have dark discharge one week after your period?

This kind of pattern is typical if you haven't been ovulating regularly.
