Or the starter solenoid is stuck closed, so the starter is constantly engaged and getting voltage from starter relay. If so you would need to replace the solenoid.

I just had a water pump installed in my Capri and while they're doing that, make sure they put a new timing belt in, because if you have a 91 Turbo w/ ac, it's a 4.5 hour job because the water pump is under the engine.

There could be a number of problems. Start with checking if the fan is working. Unplug the wire to the fan and jump it with a good battery. Either pos. or neg. to either side. If the fan does not work, most likely the fan is defective, replace it. If it works, then make sure the power is getting to the wires. Check the wire plug to make sure it is clean. If this is good, with the engine at operating temp. use a 12 volt tester to see if power is being sent to the fan, if yes, then the fan really should work at this point, as per previous tests. If no power to the plug, then go to the fan sensor, just follow the wires to the sensor for the fan, and not for the engine temp. Unplug the sensor wire, jump the 2 wires with a paper clip, if the fan starts, then the sensor is defective, and just replace the sensor. You could do this first, but just make sure the fan does work by doing the first test. As long as there is power going to the plug at the fan it should work. If replacing the sensor, and the fan still does not come on, but the fan only works when you jump the wires at the sensor, then instead of spending a lot of $$$$$$$$$, just wire in a toggle switch to these two wires inside the car and operate manually. Really going back in time. If it is the same as the '87, the module is on the firewall. Small box with a wire plug in. Sort of silver in color. Most times when this module is defective, the engine will cut out, and after a few minutes will restart. Ford should still have the part in stock. Just make sure the points are gapped properly and the rotor is in good shape.

Is it an inner or an outer tie rod. If it's an outer, than you loosen the jam nut on the tie rod, undo the tie rod end from the strut or steering arm/spindle or whatever it's connected to. And count how many times you turn it on removal, then install the new one and do the same in reverse, count the turns on installation so you have a similar alignment by the end

1-3-4-2.......2.3 L engine. Check where the rotor points when the engine is at compression stroke on the number 1, take out spark plug on first cly. and turn by hand. You will find it. when piston is at the top, look where the rotor points. Goog luck.

This is possible, as long as you can get the c-clip off. Small space to work in. Most times because of the small space, its better to just have the system drained at the garage, remove the pump from underneath by taking the torsion bar support plate off, change the dryer, add the upgrade oil from r12 to 134 special oil, the auto parts will have it, and fill with 134. What you have to be careful of if you are trying to take the clutch out while pump still on engine, is that the clutch will not want to come of, so you pry it with a bar, and the the seal blows, and there goes all the r12, and now you have to replace the whole pump.

Its a very simple. Open the hood- reach in behind the headlight and take out the old bulb. You will have to give the big plastic holder about an eighth of a turn and it will pull right out. Then simply unplug the bulb. It pulls straight out. There is a little tab on it to hold it in place- so you will have to lift it up to pull the old bulb out. When installing the new halogen bulb- do NOT touch the glass of it. The oil in your skin of your hands will stay on the glass and it will burn it out almost immediatly!! Grip it only by the plastic base. Then simply put it back in the headlight- give it a turn to lock it in place and you are good to go.

A defective brake light switch could cause the problem. Also a defective turn signal switch could also. The brake lights work through the turn signals. It cancels the brake light so that the turn signal can work.

Open the hood, look in the middle space between the firewall and motor. You will see the sensor comming out, IT LOOKS LIKE A SPARK PLUG. YOU WILL ALSO SEE THE CONNECTOR COMMING UP TOWARD YOU. MAKE SURE MOTER IS COOL BEFORE LOOKING.

To change out a fan relay for a 1993 Mercury Topaz, locate the relay, typically found in the engine compartment near the radiator. Disconnect the negative battery cable, remove the old relay, and insert the new one in its place. Depends on why its overheating. IF the Radiator fan is not kicking on, then there are several things you can check.

One is that the AC system is working properly. Unfortunately, Ford tied in the AC system to the cars cooling system (overheating). And without the AC System working properly you might have to wire a toggle switch directly to the fan, with a fuse link on one side, to be able to manually turn on the fan when the car reaches temperature.

IF the AC unit is working properly there are 2 sensors. One is on top of the thermostat housing, and actually is in the housing. The other is in the engine block right next to the thermostat housing. IF either of these is not working properly, then the fan unit will not come on.

If that is not the problem, you may have a blockage somewhere, and need a serious cleaning of the radiator and/or engine block.

First you need the proper equipment to do this job. There should be a plug in under the hood, on passenger side where you plug in your tester. Then you need the book on the codes. Sometimes it is less expensive to just go to a service station and have this done. It will save you time and money.

Dist. removal. First, take off the dist. cap. You can leave the ign. wires on, but it is a good thing to mark the firing order on the cap. Which plug the wires go to. You can also mark where the Dist. cap is pointing, helps for timing purpose after. Next, you mark where the rotor is pointing, you can turn the engine over till the rotor points to the engine, then mark the spot on the engine, and also mark the Dist. around the base. This way, when you go to put it back in, the engine will work and save you a lot of time. Your two marks will line up. Use a wrench and remove the lock nut, and lock tab. Also un-clip the ign. wire harness from the Dist. When you pull up on the Dist. the shaft will turn, this is ok. Now you have it in your hands. If this removal is to change the module, make sure you put the right grease and clean the surface very good. It is possible that you might have to modify a tool to reach the small screws for the module........Now to re-install. As you slide the Dist. back into place, you will have to line up the two marks that you made. To do this, put the rotor back on during installation, and you will have to turn the rotor (shaft will turn also ) backwards, when you arrive at the right spot, the Dist. shaft gear will line up to the oil pump, and the Dist. will now drop fully into place. If it does not line up EXACTLY, then start over. Just by lifting the Dist. slightly, you will be able to turn the shaft till it drops in the right place. IT HAS TO LINE UP TO YOUR 2 MARKS. Off just a little is just not good enough.....OK. Chances are that you will not have to check the timing after, once lined up, unless you had a problem before, then have the timing checked. Which mount? Front, you support the engine from the under side, (you should really have air tools for this job) and start to unbolt and replace. It is very easy, but if you are not equipped, it is not a nice job. The transmission mount, there a 2. When the car is up on jacks, just look at the mounts and start to unbolt and replace with the new ones. As I said, air tools will do the job. Good luck.

If this is a 4cyl, auto, the dip stick for the tranny is between the rad and engine on the drivers side. Use the special long funnel for this purpose, and be careful not to overfill. Just add a little at a time, and check. If this is a standard, then the oil check plug is underneath on the side. When you open the plug, oil should just come out slightly, the car should be level. If you need oil, then you need a special pump to add. It uses reg. auto trans fluid. Good luck.

Check the trunk, driver's side close to the hinge. You should see a label that says Fuel Pump Reset Switch right next to a finger hole in the lining along the top of the side. The fuel switch is in there.
