They should flash for a few seconds then come on permanently while in 4x4 if they continue to flash open the hood/bonnet and just behind the air filter you will see two small solenoids with vacuum pipes attached, make sure there is no leaking pipes as I cured mine yesterday with the same fault when one of the pipes had come loose and burned through on the turbo. Error code 3 on a Mitsubishi CD player means that the track is out of line. It is possible that a CD broke inside the player that caused the track to jam up. Either way, the CD player will have to be replaced.
I removed the entire power antenna assembly and could not find any way possible to separate the mast from the motor assembly. Odd, since Mitsubishi sold me an antenna mast.
If you have a key that is already programmed to your Outlander, use that key first. Place it in the ignition and turn to the "on" position five times. A light should come on your dash (looks like a car with a key inside). Once that light comes on, turn to the off position, remove your first key the place the "new" or unregistered key in the ignition and turn to the "On" position (not start). This should program your key to your Outlander.
You have to put in more than 10 Gallons of Gas to get the system to reset and reestimate the miles to empty status. Since you have a full tank, either you have some bad circuit or sensor (call a dealer), or I would run it completely down near empty, and then put in 10 or more gallons and see if it resets. Perhaps it has gotten confused.
There are 2 sensors on the upstream manifold before catalytic converter, left and right (make sure you get the one you need, left and right are different), the other two are located underneath your truck after the converter, but is usually the upstream sensors that needs to be replaced the most, like when you get an OBD code "bank1 or bank2"
I am also trying to change my antenna on a Montero Limited 02 and found a antenna on EBAY but you have to replace everything. BUT a Better Idea is the one I found on WWW.CARSTEREOHELP.COM On this site, they say it is possible to change out the antenna whip only. This is the weekend, but I plan to pursue this option on Monday. I'll use my $30.00 antenna on some other car! leopen hood of vehicle. The headlamp is in a case that comes out. Headlamp screws in and out of it. Replace, and then put case back in. - Or stop at Auto Store, play dumb and have them do it for you (that's how I found out!
)
usually a problem in the emission control system - have vehicle scanned to determine the problem

The pin in the auto-tensioner slid right out with no resistance. I also measured the auto-tensioner piston runout at 0.17" with a caliper...right where it should be.
Most have one horn under each fender in the front. My 03 Sport has 1 horn just under the left front turn signal lamp. from underneath move the tar type paper and it is held in place by one 1/2" bolt. Try emery cloth on the contact before replacing horn.
The 2000 Mitsubishi Montero 3.5L is listed as an "Interference Engine" under timing belts in the www.RockAuto.com auto parts catalog. This means the valves or other major engine parts will be damaged if the timing belt breaks while the engine is running. So replace it as part of scheduled maintenance. Many manufacturers recommend changing the timing belt every 60K miles. I do not know if Mitsubishi recommends different mileage intervals.
Test if your hazard lights work. There are normally two flasher cans in most vehicles.
If the hazard lights work, It is likely to be the flasher can that works the indicators is blown and in need of replacement.
These will be available for under $50US from most auto parts stores.
The SRS light in my 1999 Diamante came on because my right rear Brake ABS unit needed to be replaced. It is most likely something to do with the ABS braking system but it should be coded out to be sure.
Remove wheel
Remove brake caliper and suspend with a bungee cord to avoid stressing the rubber pipe
Prise off centre of wheel hub cap - it's a push fit
Remove circlip and washer from driveshaft
Remove 6 bolts around drive shaft
Remove splined plate
Remove 2 screws
Remove the locking metal ring with many holes, note the metal tab at the top - must go back same way
Using a socket cut or welded so as it has 2 pegs that fit in the larger 2 holes under the locking ring, remove the nut holding the wheel bearings in
Pull the entire hub off
Drive old bearings out, fit new bearings and pack with grease
Handle hub carefully to avoid the bearings falling out (good idea to put a clean cloth/board beneath the vehicle)
Refitting is a reversal of removal. Torquing procedure for the 2-hole nut advice varies, but mitsubishi manuals for some models states:
Tighten to 130Nm
Loosen to 0Nm
Tighten to 25Nm
Loosen 30-40 degrees so locking ring fits (align screw holes with holes in locking ring
I had the same code thrown in my 97 eclipse gsx and i replaced the o2 sensor that's after the CAT and that solved the problem
i dont know if it the same for all monteros... but mine under the the dash on the drivers side... in the lower left corner..
