i dont know if it the same for all monteros... but mine under the the dash on the drivers side... in the lower left corner..
when i pull up to a red light my montero sport jumps alittle, it doesnt do it all the time and i am not leaking trans fluid. What could be the problem?
There is three areas you can look at, relays, horns and horn pad; unfortunately it boils down to the most expensive one of them - HORN PAD. The problem arises from having a stuck horn pad which turns out to be with the airbag; all one piece. OUCH!!!! Pricing for a horn pad and airbag is about $1,200 plus labor, rough estimate $2,000
incorrect fuel to air ratio. usually the cars computer or ECU has not adjusted the fuel ammount to compensate for the extra air intake due to acceleration
most popping sounds from the front end of these vehicles happens when you make a sharp turn and hit a bump and that's most commonly control arm bushings
For the cost of the clutch kit itself, figure about $150 (if you have a 4 cyl 2.4L engine) and $250 (if you have the 3.0L V6 engine). These are approximate prices, for a good OE-quality clutch kit if you were to purchase yourself from an auto parts store. Prices will vary depending on brand, quality, etc. Labor cost will vary from shop to shop. I don't have labor estimates; perhaps someone else can chime in. Best bet, call your local shops to compare.
Perhaps your batttery connections are loose. Making contact most of the time but occasionaly not. When i used to go offroading in my 1997 montero ls this happened alot..i found out it was just loose battery connections. Tighten them up and you'll be all set.
This is the 1st indicator that the POWER LOCK Motor is about top go out. If it is grinding on open & close then more than likely the teeth are grinding down on the gears. Replacing A.S.A.P. will eliminate the possibility of the Driver being locked out by remote and reling on the key to unlock for entry.
well on the back of the heads, there is a y pipe that lead to one pipe on the passenger side. "water out let pipe", the two pipes seal by compression fit using an o ring. mine is leaking there right now. it was hard to see and will be harder to get to.
I'm getting an "OC" error on mine and am searching for the meaning of it. I was able to try resetting it my holding the "Temp" button on the rear view mirror for about 10 seconds. The instructions for this is in your manual, just look up "rear view mirror" in the index. Hope this helps.
Almost never. It is used to disable O.D. when heavy loads and speed are causing the car to jump in and out of O.D. repeatedly.
check for spark. check for fuel pressure.
A bad A/T Control Relay switch may be the reason your light is blinking on the N of the shift gear in your Mitsubishi Montero Sport. The part will need to be ordered from the dealership to fix it.
the dealer should take care of it because they made the key but you have to go into the computer and reset it
You have to remove the rear tail light assembly on each side and tap into the wires there. You'll need a conversion kit to go from the three wire tail lights to the 2 wire (per side). They are available at hitch stores.
Believe there are 4 switches mounted in top of case. Lock switch, Lock Rail switch, Transfer switch, and Low switch. Every one but the low switch is normally ON ((has continuity) while not depressed). Sooo, they cannot be swapped around "willy nilly" either.
