During a war, a "front" is a place where armies are fighting battles. In World War I, most of the major battles were in Europe.
So in World War I, "Western Front" refers to the front in the western portion of Europe- it was mainly in northern France, where Germany had invaded. The "Eastern Front" was in Eastern Europe, primarily around the borders between Russia and Germany/Austria-Hungary.
According to his own memoirs, he was invited to join the SS because of his talent in rocket science. He goes on to say that a coworker convinced him that joining would be the best way to continue his research, as he would have support and funding from the government. Had he turned down the offer, he would have had to quit working as a scientist, and he was unwilling to do that.
When did the Soviet Union Hand over Jewish refugees to Nazi Germany?
Hello,
maybe you've already found the answer to your question in the movie "The Soviet Story" from 2008. It mentions 1937 and 1938 as some years, but the NKVD and Gestapo collaboration lasted to early 1940. During and after the German invasion of Poland, tens of thousands of Jews fled to the USSR, many of them were also handed over to Hitler, as a result of the non-agression pact and before mentioned cooperation between the secret police of both states.
Stalin handed over the Jews as a "good gesture", he even handed over German communists who had fled to the USSR. Some of the handovers took place along Brest-Litovsk. There's a book called "Under two dictators" which deals with this issue. Hope this info helps..
How did Adolf Hitler convince Germans that the Nazi party would lead them out of the depression?
He didn't really try to explain his plan, except to say that he would bring Germany out of the Depression. Hitler had little interest in economics, and considered them a waste of time (not to mention that he believed economics were tainted by Jews). Between 1925 and 1933, when the Nazi Party was trying to take control of Germany, Hitler and his goons would say whatever they needed to say to try to gain popularity. This process of gaining seats in the Reichstag was slow and the Nazi Party never really got far with it.
He then came to power by allying with other right-wing political parties and manipulating events and the Weimar Republic's political system. Once in power, he built up the military and government (especially military and police related departments), which put people to work.
Fascism (what today’s neo-Nazi groups aim to build) was a mass movement, mainly based on the middle classes. It aimed at smashing democratic rights, particularly working class organisations, and protecting the power of big business. Fascist regimes came to power in Italy in 1922, in Germany in 1933 and in other European countries afterwards. They built up support by a combination of radical (left-wing sounding) rhetoric and playing on prejudices that were already widespread in society. In Germany anti-Jewish (anti-Semitic) prejudice was high before the Nazi Party ever came on the scene, whereas in Italy it wasn’t nearly so strong. Mussolini and his Fascist Party in Italy therefore didn’t use anti-Semitism until very late, when they were relying on Hitler for support during the second world war. In contrast Hitler and the Nazis in Germany consciously promoted anti-Semitism from the beginning, with tragic consequences.
Why did the Nazi's want to restrict the activities of Jews?
There were many reasons for this. Race-Politics-Greed. Race! Because we have always attacked the Jewish People, ever since the Birth of Christianity. Politics! Because the hard working Jewish People, over generations, had built up Factories, Banks, and were good Businessmen, and the Nazi's used this to work against them, by making the public think, that this money was going out of Germany, during a time when most Germans, just like other Countries, were going through a bad period, no jobs, money or food. Forgetting to mention, that the Banks, and Factories, supplied the work in the first place.
And Greed! Because they, the Nazi's, wanted the Gold, the Money, the Fine Arts, and most important, THE POWER that all this brings!!!!!! One more point, The Money and Gold, would help to pay for a War. There were other reasons as well, but these were the main points and reasons.
What was unique about the takeover of Germany by Hitler?
The takeover of Germany by Hitler was one of a kind because it was done legally by Von Hindenburg's appointment of Hitler to Chancellor. Later when President Von Hindenburg died in 1934, his office of President, meaning "head of State" was an election issue. Hitler, in 1934 ran for President and was elected. He then combined the office of Chancellor & President into one office.
Chancellor meant head of the government, President meant Head of State. As President, Von Hindenburg could have removed Hitler from office.
Failing to see that Hitler took over Germany legally creates false history.
What is the purpose of the nazi party?

When did Hitler and the Nazi party came to power Germany but when?

Because Ireland is an island nation which is rather far from the shore of Europe, and, all in all, the Nazis wouldn't really gain much from invading.
