To use it, you need some harder to get components - Red Moltite is gained after collecting a lamp and all the coloured worms, then going into the dark cave on the magma map. When you reach the end, you'll get the moltite. The other two components, 'scrap metal and stone' and 'miscellaneous gears' are given to you as random Moltara 'something has happened' events.

The four components can be combined in different ways (at Tangor's Workshop) to produce different petpets which can also be combined together. Combining all of them gives a Vagendotra 5000, which is a wearable item.

When you are on neopets.com a picture of your current active neopet will be on the left side of the page. Click that picture and the page will change to the "Quick Reference" page, where you will see the thumbnail pictures of the pets on your account with an arrow next to each. Click the arrow next to the picture of the neopet you want to become active, and a drop-down menu will show you options and click the first option, "Make Active", and that's how it's done. A rare neopet is either a LE (Limited Edition) or Restricted neopet. Limited Edition pets are harder to obtain than a regular pets, though it can be done. On the species specified days you can create them like any other, if you are fast enough as the come out in batches throughout the day. Also create-able through morphing, potions, transmogrification potions (both of which are very expensive!) or through the Lab Ray.
Restricted pets cannot be created in the Create A Pet function. There are currently only three restricted neopets: Draiks, Krawks and Lutaris.
It is no longer possible to obtain a Lutari (as they were part of the now cancelled Mobile Package) unless by a lucky zap from the Lab Ray, as the cannot be adopted either.
Krawks are create-able in four ways: morphing potions and transmogrification potions (both in the double-figured millions of NeoPoints, the Neopian currency), through EXTREMELY rare zaps, and when bought as a PetPet for many millions of Neopoints and taken to the Fungus Cave.
They are the rarest of all Neopets due to a glitch that allowed Draiks to be created on their day.
Draiks are created in the first three ways the same as Krawks but also as eggs. You can buy one of several different types of Draik Egg for millions of Neopoints and take it to the Draik Nest and have it hatch.
All in all, you need a lot of time, patience, experience, money and luck to get the rarest of the rare!
