Is Esther in the ancestry of Jesus?

No, she is not from the same lineage as Jesus.

According to Rabbinic literature Esther was an orphan, her father died before her birth and her mother died when Esther was born. She was raised in her cousin Mordiecai's house.

There is a building known as the tomb of 'Esther and Mordechai' in Hamadan Iran so maybe Esther did exist.

How old were Shadrach Meshach and Abednego when they entered the fiery furnace?

The account of this experience can be found at Daniel 3:1-30.

Based on the admonition given at Exodus 20:4+5, the worshipers of YHWH (the God of the Jews) would not bow to or worship an idol of any kind. King Nebuchadnezzar, however, demanded that these boys do just that. When they refused, they were punished by being thrown into the fire.(Daniel 3:14-20)

Did Moses live before or after Jesus Christ?

Moses, the first biblical prophet, lived more than a thousand years before Jesus Christ. According to some sources, Moses lived in the fourteenth century B.C. According to others, he lived in the thirteenth or twelfth century B.C. Please see the related links for details.

Did Moses ever see Christ's face?

No. They lived hundreds of years apart. The Transfiguration of Jesus is an event reported by the Synoptic Gospels in which Jesus was transfigured upon a mountain (Matthew 17:1-9, Mark 9:1-8, Luke 9:28-36). Jesus becomes radiant, speaks with Moses and Elijah, and is called "Son" by God. The transfiguration put Jesus on par with the two preeminent figures of Judaism: Moses and Elijah. It also supports his identity as the Son of God. In keeping with the Messianic secret, Jesus tells the witnesses not to tell others what they saw. Moses talked with God and saw him seated on the Mount of God. Jesus is God. so, Moses did see Jesus around 1440 B.C.

Where was Judah located?

Judah was a small inland nation, more or less to the west of the Dead Sea. To the north was the Kingdom of Israel, which became the Assyrian province of Samaria in 722 BCE. To the south was the Negev desert, inhospitable until the Nabataeans learnt to survive there. And to the west was the land of the Philistines.

Based on the Bible; South of the Kingdom of Israel, East of the Mediterranean, Northeast of Egypt, and as stated above west of the Dead Sea. Jerusalem is in Judah. See link: "Map of the Divided Kingdom - Israel and Judah"

Who were King Solomon's sons?

Oh, what a joy to talk about King Solomon's sons! He had several sons, but the most well-known ones were Rehoboam and Jeroboam. Each of them played important roles in the history of Israel, and their stories remind us that every individual has a unique path to follow.

Where in the Bible does it say how long it should have taken the Israelites to reach the Promised Land?

The Bible does not state explicitly how long this journey should have taken, but in the Book of Exodus beginning in chapter 32, it strongly suggest the journey would be quite short. It is only about 200 kilometers and even with a group between 600,000 to 3 million people, the Israelites would have begun to enter into Canaan within 2 weeks on foot - with the remaining forces continuing onward for probably another couple of weeks.

As with all people, even though the Israelites saw great miracles from God and had a very special leader in Moses, they soon tired of the delays and wanted to end the journey to begin anew as quickly as possible. Their thick headedness (testing God 10 times - see Numbers 14:22) caused delays and punishment which forbade the present generation from entering the Promised Land as they wandered in the desert for 40 years. The story is presented in Numbers 12 through 14 also.

Where in the Bible can God's Spirit will not dwell in an unclean temple be found?

1 Corinthians Ch3:16-17Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the spirit of God dwelleth in you? 17If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

The Bible does not literally say that the Holy Ghost will not dwell in an unclean temple. But the Bible does say that if we are saved that our bodies are the temple of God and if that is so then the Holy Ghost is dwelling in you. If you have not asked God to come into your heart, you are a sinner and your body is not the Temple of God. The only way that your body an be the temple of God is to ask Him to live in your heart and soul.

So in short I believe the scriptures IS saying that the Holy Ghost can not dwell in an unclean temple.

How old were those who entered the promised land?

In Numbers 13:25-33 we read that 10 of the 12 spies sent up to the land by Moses reported that the people there were too strong for the Israelites to overcome.

In Numbers Chapter 14 we read that nearly all the people were frightened and rebelled. Joshua and Caleb had confidence that they could do it with God's help. As a consequence, in Numbers 13:29-30 God told them that none of those then present from the age of 20 and upwards would enter into the promised land except Joshua and Caleb and that they would wander in the wilderness for 40 years. From this we can calculate that except for Joshua and Caleb, all the Israelites who entered the promised land were no older than 59.

What was happening with David when Psalm 118 was written?

A:Tradition holds that the psalms were all written by Kings David and Solomon, or by their courtiers. However, scholars say that the psalms were a literary genre unknown at the time attributed to David and Solomon. They were actually written during and after the Babylonian Exile.

Psalm 118 verse 9 says (KJV), "

It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes." While the first clause is uncontroversial, no king would write the second part, and it would be a brave courtier to do so. In addition, verse 26 refers to the "house of the Lord" (the Jerusalem Temple) in the past tense, meaning that the psalm was written after it was built and probably after its destruction by the Babylonians. The tenor of the psalm indicates that the Jews had already been allowed to return from captivity, and verse 25, which asks the Lord to send prosperity, suggests they have already returned.

Like all the psalms, Psalm 118 was written anonymously, so we will never know its actual author, but we can say that he lived some time after the Return from the Babylonian Exile, and long after the time of David.

The city of Ur is what modern city?

It was in the country of ancient Sumer, also known by other later countries as the area of Babylonia, Chaldea, Mesopotamia, and modern-day Iraq. It was located upstream from Basra after the river splits into the Euphrates and Hiddekel rivers, and was on the Euphrates about 1/3rd of the way to Babylon.

WHEN TO Use Psalm or psalms?

Oh honey, let me break it down for you. When you're talking about a specific chapter from the Book of Psalms, you use "Psalm" followed by the chapter number, like "Psalm 23." But if you're referring to the entire book as a whole, you can just say "Psalms." So, remember, it's "Psalm" for one chapter and "Psalms" for the whole shebang.

Were Canaanites descendants of Cain?

No, not according to tradition. Noah's family were the only ones to survive the Flood, and they were descendants of Seth, not Cain. However, tradition states that Noah's wife was a Cainide.

The Canaanites were from one of Noah's sons, Ham (Genesis ch.10), who also fathered the Egyptians and many other nations.

More information:

The Torah speaks of three branches of post-Flood mankind: Yefet (Jafeth), Ham, and Shem (the three sons of Noah; Genesis ch.10).
The children of Yefet are (broadly speaking) the Europeans (Caucasians).
The children of Ham include the ancient Egyptians, Canaanites, Nubians, Bantu (and sub-Saharan Africans in general), and many others.
The children of Shem include the ancient Assyrians, Elamites, Arameans, Lyddians, and other Semitic peoples. One group of Semites gave rise to the Arabs, Hebrews, Moabites, Ammonites, Edumeans and others.

Who claimed that the golden calf simply came out of the fire?

Aaron

Exodus 32 22 So Aaron said, “Do not let the anger of my lord become hot. You know the people, that they are set on evil. 23 For they said to me, ‘Make us gods that shall go before us; as for this Moses, the man who brought us out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.’ 24 And I said to them, ‘Whoever has any gold, let them break it off.’ So they gave it to me, and I cast it into the fire, and this calf came out.”

What does 'In Adams fall we sinned all' mean?

One thought:

Romans 5:12 tells us that through one man, sin entered into the world, and death through sin, thus death spread to all men because they had all sinned.

Because of Adam's sin, he was no longer perfect, so all his children would be born imperfect, subject to sin and death (Romans 3:23). Jesus came to reverse this situation, 'buy us back' and pay the price for that sin(Romans 3:24-25), a perfect ransom, 'eye for an eye, tooth for tooth...'(Exodus 21:24) , "son of God' for "son of God"(Matthew 16:16)(Luke 3:38), (faithful)perfectman, for an(unfaithful)perfect man. (Romans 6:23; 1Corinthians 15:22, 45, 47).

Another Answer: It is still possible to correct Adams sinful act. God has told Adam n0t pick apple from tree because tree has life and feeling like human, wait for God will bring apple down with his desire. If we are Hungary God will know it first. For our food or need to hurt (even tree ). Best non violence message on earth. There is one person 110 years ago prove this and become Creator himself. (GOD )

How did Nebuchadnezzar know that the fourth man was the Son of God?

Shadrach Meshach and Abed-Nego said to Nebuchadnezzar their God would save them if they were put in the furnace - Dan 3:17. Nebuchadnezzar didn't really know that the person was God but he reasoned it was someone - angel etc - from God.

Compare these different translations:

Dan 3:25 "Then why do I see four men walking around in the fire?" he asked. "They are not tied up, and they show no sign of being hurt---and the fourth one looks like an angel." - Good News Bible

Dan 3:25 He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the aspect of the fourth is like a son of the gods. - American Standard Version

Dan 3:25 He answered and said, Behold! I see four men loose, walking in the middle of the fire, and there is no harm among them. And the form of the fourth is like a son of the gods. - Literal Translation.

Who was the wife of the prophet Samuel?

1Sam:25:3: Now the name of the man was Nabal; and the name of his wife Abigail: and she was a woman of good understanding, and of a beautiful countenance: but the man was churlish and evil in his doings; and he was of the house of Caleb.

Why wouldn't the angel give Jacob his name?

Well, honey, that angel was playing hard to get, giving Jacob a taste of his own medicine. Angels are like that sometimes, keeping things mysterious and leaving us humans scratching our heads. Maybe the angel just wanted to keep Jacob on his toes, who knows? Just one of those divine mysteries, I suppose.

Did Abraham and Sarah have the same father?

A:Yes. On two separate occasions, Abraham said that Sarah was his sister, making Terah the father of both Abraham and Sarah. Although the context justifies the view that Abraham was lying, we find elsewhere in Genesis that Isaac and Jacob also married direct descendants of Terah.

If Sarah was the daughter of Terah, and with the marriage of Isaac to Rebekah, and of Jacob to sisters Leah and Rachel, the patriarchal family line is a self-contained unit, originating solely in Terah, with no pathways to or from the outer world. The children of Israel were all descended solely from Terah, through both male and female lines all the way back to Abraham and Sarah. The mythic reason for this genealogy is beyond the scope of this question. The Bible does not actually confirm that Sarah was Abraham's sister, but there is a consistency here that makes compelling sense for her to be, and therefore the daughter of Terah.

Why did they rub salt on a newborn in the bible?

Postnatal procedures, most often performed by midwives, are mentioned at Ezekiel 16:4. The umbilical cord was cut and the baby was washed, rubbed with salt, and then wrapped in swaddling bands. The use of salt may have been to dry the skin and make it firm and tight.

How many people wandered with Moses in the wilderness?

The Bible says that 600,000 fighting men were among the Israelites who left Egypt. This is equivalent to a total population of at least 2,500,00, including women, children, the elderly and the priestly tribe. In addition to this number were all those who were born during the forty years in the wilderness. However, it seems that deaths more or less matched births, as a similar number of Israelites were said to have crossed over into Canaan, as left Egypt.
