Olympics Wrestling

Wrestling was excluded from the 1900 Olympics in Paris primarily due to the disorganization and the focus on other sports. The event faced challenges in terms of organization, and many wrestlers did not participate, which led to a lack of sufficient competitors. Additionally, the inclusion of new sports, like rugby and cricket, shifted attention away from traditional events like wrestling during that Olympic Games.

On 6/26/76, Muhammad Ali fought Antonio Inoki in a wrestler vs boxer match in Tokyo, Japan. Antonio Inoki, the top wrestling star in Japan, was trying to prove that professional wrestling was the greatest form of martial arts. Prior to this match, he had beaten Olympic Judo Gold Medalist Willem Ruska. Muhammad Ali was the World Boxing champion. A year earlier he beat Joe Frazier in "The Thrilla in Manila." Muhammad Ali suffered "Blood Clots" in his legs from being kicked repeatedly by the wrestler as he lay on his back. Blood thinners took care of the Clot's, but he said they quote: "Hurt Like Hell", Hope this helped! :)

Freestyle: Khadzhimurat Gatsalov of Russia at age 21 at the 2004 Games in Athens. Con O'Kelly of Great Britain was also 21 when he won gold at the 1908 Games in London but was 5 days older the Gatsalov.

Greco-Roman: Henri Deglane of France at age 21 at the 1924 Games in Paris.

There are four major ways a match is won.

1. you pin your oppenents shoulders on the mat until the ref declares a pin

2. You score more points than your opponent in regulation


3. Your opponent is injured and can not continue


4. The match is forfeited

we can not see the singlet but chances are its unisex. girls just have to were sports bras with lower cut styles

A pin or fall in high school wrestling is when one of the wrestlers is able to turn their opponent onto their back and hold their shoulders flat on the mat for five seconds.

In general headgear is a personal thing, everyone has a diffrent sized head, ears and hair length, so what feels nice to someone may be uncomfortable for another person. Personally I don't like any headgear as I find it distracting from the match, but if you find that your ears are constantly being hurt from wrestling it might be an idea to find a vendor at a local store or tournament and try a couple pairs on until you find one that you think is excellent. Ideally you don't want to go to cheap and get one that's made out of crappy material, but sometimes simple is nice, it's all up too what you like... Good luck finding some headgear and on the mats! :)

The fabric on boys wrestling singlets are generally cut lower under the arms and on chest than girls singlets.

One of the best wrestlers in Indiana won numerous tournaments and a few national titles. Wrestling at 119 this year and is destined to win high school state.

In WWE it is hard to say but mostly when people get hurt or killed is the real part

1. Because boys are a little bit stronger then girls. Girls only can play so much or they might get hurt. They get the same prize because it is really unfair if the boys got more money then girls. And maybe because girls would stop playing tennis!!!

2. In the Women's Australian Open Tennis final last night only 15 games were played and the match took only 1hr 20mins to play. That's about as long as it takes one hard fought set to play in men's tennis . Organisers charged less to attend the women's final yet they get same prize. There is only one answer for why this is happening and that has to be chivalry

3. The reason as to why women only have to win 2 sets is entirely down to tradition. Women have historically always played best of 3 whereas men have played best of 5. Incidentally there is no reason why women shouldn't play 5 sets, the suggestion that a professional, top level athlete wouldn't be able to cope with lasting 5 sets of tennis "because boys are a little bit stronger" is frankly laughable. Women seem to cope perfectly well playing the same amount of time (or travelling the same distance) as men in a vast array of physically demanding sports (association football, rugby, hockey, marathon running, olympic triathlon etc.)

They get the same pay due to years of lobbying by female players and feminists which resulted to tournament organisers caving into pressure despite the fact it flies in the face of all reason (due to their shorter matches the average pay for women players in the first round at wimbledon 2007 was £481.92 a game - compared with £284.70 for men).

Its as fake as the word restling [sic]

Greco is no legs. all upperbody, no double legs. floksstyle is highschool and college wrestling.

Greco-Roman wrestling is the real sport of wrestling, practiced by the ancient Greeks and Romans. It is thousands of years old, and very different from the WCW or WWF. Schools with wrestling teams use this kind of wrestling. It is also an Olympic event, and Iran excels at Greco-Roman wrestling.
