How do you fix computer without operating system without a disk?
You can't. You must have some form of installation medium to install an operating system. Although it is possible to install over a network, it is very difficult to set this up correctly, and you will still need the installation files on another computer. Depending on the operating system in question, it may be possible to remove the hard drive, connect it to another computer, and either image a file system onto it, or run the installer (providing, again, that you have a disk or files).
well if you don't have the RIGHT disk you could try Ubuntu...it is free and all you need is a blank CD to make a Ubuntu live CD
if you don't have ANY disk I'm afraid you are S.O.L my friend...
keep in mind that Ubuntu is a Linux OS not windows so you will not be able to run .exe files on it...you'll have to run tar.gz(i think) files on Ubuntu, and Ubuntu is not good for games, although with the use of windows emulators (such as W.I.N.E.) you can get some .exe files and some games to work
Definition of pure segmentation and pure paging?

# A specialized computer system that is part of a larger system or machine. Typically, an embedded system is housed on a single microprocessor boardprograms stored in ROM. Virtually all appliances that have a digital interface -- watches, microwaves, VCRs, cars -- utilize embedded systems. Some embedded systems include an operating system, but many are so specialized that the entire logic can be implemented as a single program. # Embedded System is: specified purpose controller which is embedded as part of larger system. An embedded system has historically been defined as a single function product where the intelligence is embedded in the system. It could be anything from a dishwasher to a hearing aid, if that product includes a microprocessor and software. Many of today's embedded systems are looking more like PCs with user interfaces, touchscreens, displays, keypads and more. Still, these are not general function systems but are designed to perform very specific functions.
What trends are occurring in the development of operating systems for personal computers?
More efforts are going into cloud computing (the idea of storing most information on the internet) Microsoft is trying to create a Windows version for all this cloud computing to take place called Azure. And the next version of Windows will probably have more of the Windows Live cloud stuff. Google are trialling an OS based on a Google Chrome web browser, so all work is done using web apps and info in stored in the 'cloud'.
That's another addition that is being more focused on is the idea of app stores. Linux distro's have had these for years, but Apple are starting to take the app store idea from iOS products and onto the Mac. Microsoft will probably try somthing similar.
Multi touch integration was tried to some extent in Windows 7 and will probably be improved a bit in the next Windows. Apple are increasing multi-touch in the next version of Mac OS 'Lion'.
The only other trend would appear to be increasing memory usage in commercial operating systems.
