I went off trynessa Feb 14, 2010 after being back on it for a year. I had the normal "post birthcontrol" bleeding the following week and then my normal expected period March 3, 2010 for the normal 5 days. I know it can take some time to get back to "normal," but my husband and I wanted to start ttc right away. I started OPK to see how soon ovulation after stopping the pills would start. I finally got a positive surge on March 21 at 10:00 AM and it lasted until March 22 between 7:00 PM and 10:00 PM. Before the positive surge we have been having sex at least every other day and then after that, every day. We even had sex the night before the positive surge. I have also been BBT charting, but since I don't sleep well at night and I move around a lot, I don't think that is very accurate, or at least I don't trust it. Prior to all of this, I am pretty sure I had a regular schedule, having a regular period within a day or two each month. Just curious if anyone has had a similar situation and conceived right away. This is the first time I ever tried to see when I ovulated, so I'm not sure if this is my normal time or just because it is "post bc pills.".....if I even ovulated at all!! Also, the night before I had a positive surge, I had a huge clump of jelly like discharge when I wiped after a bm.

yup It honestly depends on the brand and on the woman. Some women just don't produce a whole lot of LH (the hormone that the test looks for) and never get a positive ovulation test result. Sometimes the brand makes a difference because it's just not sensitive enough. No. It takes time for the hormones to build up within the body to see the signs of pregnancy. If you had unprotected sex 3-4 days BEFORE ovulation it is possible you are pregnant because sperm can live in the uterus 5-6 days, but you won't know for 3-4 weeks when you miss your first period. If you NOT had unprotected sex from day 11-18 of your cycle and have a 28 day cycle it is doubtful you are pregnant.

Having your period twice in one month is totally fine if you're only a few years into it. It's normal to have long periods, short ones, early, late and all that stuff. I think it might even be okay if you've had it for some time now, but i am not positive. Good luck!;)

Yes. This happened to me. I thought I was having a lighter, longer period which lasted a whole week. I didn't find out until my period was due the following month that I was pregnant. I thought I was four weeks pregnant. Several weeks later during an ultrasound I was informed that I was four weeks further along than I had thought. I had mistaken the implantation bleeding for my period! No where in any of my research did I see anything about implantation bleeding lasting that long. Most of the information I found said it lasts hours or possibly a day and only 1/4 of women experience implantation bleeding.

It is really pretty simple to figure out without a lot of mystery. If you have a 28 day cycle as most women do your ovulation is on or about day 14. The easy way to figure this out is an old fashion pocket calendar. Get one and when you start your period mark the date on the calendar with a check. That is day one and keep going until your next period. Do this each month and you will see a pattern. Not only will you know how long your cycle is, but when the mid point of it is. That is usually when ovulation occurs. Remember that if you have sex between days 11 and 18 you could get pregnant. Sperm lives in the uterus for 5-6 days which means in a 28 day cycle if you have sex on day 11 the sperm will be present when you ovulate on day 14. So, if you don't want a bundle of joy make sure to use protection. You should be using protection all the time anyway.
You can go get a test from a drug store and that will give you a 3 day range on when you are most likely to conceive.
