Oxycontin, is the drug oxycodone suspended in a polymer matrix that allows it to be slowly metabolized over a 12 hour period. Many drug users crush the pill, to disable the matrix and make it more effective during first pass metabolism in the small intestine. A popular misconception is that the coating is the time-release agent, but it is only used to keep the pill from disintegrating during packaging and transport and the colored coating is used to ID the dosage. You "could" if you "really" wanted to deal with the time consuming effort. It involves , first, removing the coating. second , crushing the pill. third putting the crushed pill into a "whatever" to put the water onto it. next, put larger then normal amounts of cold water onto the pill. then, *QUICKLY* mix it w/o heat. and draw up the liquid. it takes a while (5-10) minutes per 30mg. to draw it up. BUT you will get at least 2 pulls from 1 pill!! 3 if you really wanted it, but that's just un-necessary holes..... the key is quickness, because most morphine is a "sulfate" which means its only "slightly" soluble in water. PLUS>> it gels up in a hurry!!

I can tell you from battling this myself that the best way to get over your addiction and not feel the "dope sickness" is to go to your local methadone clinic. I have been going to the methadone clinic for 2 months. I have never felt better. I kinda had my doubts...you know, how can you ever not crave the drug? how could you find energy to get off the couch without it?? Believe me, it works. I don''t know how, but it does. You have no withdrawl symptoms or dope sickness, as you put it. In my state, medicaid does pay for treatment. If you don't have medicaid, in NC it costs $11 a day. Orally is the best way to get the full effects of Oxycontin. Sure, you'll feel the instant rush snorting them, but it only lasts a few hours. I know it's difficult to be patient and wait the 30 minutes-1 hour for your Oxycontin to kick in, but it lasts so much longer, and you get the full effects of it. If you think about it, a lot of the pill is wasted snorting, because particles get trapped in your nasal passages, and if you sneeze or blow your nose, well that's another huge waste. Just stick with taking them orally.

It all depends on tolerance. If you have a tolerance for oxycodone, then lortabs and oxycodone will cost more than methadone. If you have a methdone tolerance, then the methadone will cost more. If you have no tolerance for any of them then the cheapest would be oxycontin-type oxycodone. Prices vary but oxycontin is usually about $20 for 40mgs, methadone is usually $5 for 10mgs, and lortabs are 1 dollar per mg.

They are twice "as strong" the dosage a 30mg = 0.03grams of Oxycodon; 60mg = 0.06grams. Check the related link for safety information. Doubling the dose does not have a linear effect ( that means it is not twice as good or effective ).
